Sima Chuan stepped out of the grass hut and looked up at the sky. A large sun shone down on the primitive land, casting a warm and comfortable glow. Before him, the Andi Tribe was peaceful, with smiles adorning the faces of the Andi People. 0

At that moment, a burly man hurriedly ran towards the Hill Chief's hut. Shortly after, the man emerged alongside the Hill Chief, who did not glance at Sima Chuan but rushed toward the high platform. 0

Meanwhile, the bamboo strips hanging in the air began to clash against each other, producing a rustling sound. When the Andi People heard this noise, their smiles faded. Young men rushed toward the high platform, and some women followed suit. Among those women, Sima Chuan spotted Mina, while the remaining Andi People hurried back to their huts. 0

Qiong and others also came out upon hearing the sound. 0

"Chuan, what’s happening?" Qiong asked as she surveyed the scene. 0

"It seems something is going on; let’s go take a look," Luo Mengqi suggested. 0

"Alright, let’s check it out," Sima Chuan replied as he took off running. 0

When they reached the high platform, they found the Hill Chief, Vice Chief, and High Priest gathered above, while the tribe's warriors stood below, armed with weapons. 0

At first, they heard the tribe leader Hill speaking from above: "My people, during our recent war with the Bonili Tribe, we suffered heavy losses; however, they did not fare well either. I had hoped that the Bonili Tribe could coexist peacefully with us again, but now they are back. They seek to expand their territory by seizing our homeland and displacing us while inflicting harm on our people. My kin, what shall we do?" 0

"Drive them out of our homeland!" shouted a warrior from below. 0

The Vice Chief gestured for silence, and soon there was quiet. Then he spoke loudly: "Good! You are all warriors of our tribe; I will join you in driving out our enemies." 0

"Roar!" The crowd erupted in cheers once more. 0

"It looks like war is imminent," Sima Chuan remarked with a sigh. 0

"Should we help or not?" Qiong pointed at the fervent Andi People. 0

"Let's go take a look! They are developing, and war is also a kind of training," Sima Chuan said calmly. 0

"Mm." 0

Before long, the Andi People, led by their Chief and Vice Chief, hurried southeast. 0

"Follow along," Sima Chuan remarked before joining them. 0

The Andi Tribe and the Bonili Tribe converged at a certain point by the river, which was a tributary of a larger river. The Andi People referred to this river as the Tis River, while the Bonili Tribe called it the Yave River. It was the source of development for both tribes. The river flowed directly through the jungle, making the Andi Tribe and Bonili Tribe neighbors because of it. 0

The place where the two tribes clashed was lush with vegetation, as both tribes knew it was advantageous for their people to hide there, effectively reducing casualties. 0

"Hill, you should leave this land. We Bonili Tribe have been practicing frequently lately; we are confident we will win. But what about you? You only know how to live comfortably and have never thought about solving your tribal issues. Therefore, from now on, you Andi People will become slaves to us Bonili Tribe," said a burly man in his thirties with dark skin. His tone was somewhat arrogant. He was Sheng Deshi, the leader of the Bonili Tribe—someone who cared for his people but was somewhat fanatical. 0

"Fellow tribesmen, although we live comfortably, if someone with ill intentions intrudes into our homeland and boldly declares that we will become their slaves, brave tribesmen, are you willing?" Hill's voice was loud and resonant. 0

Just as Hill finished speaking, the warriors of the Andi Tribe standing behind him shouted loudly: "No! We will drive them out of our homeland!" 0

"Yes! Drive them out of our homeland!" 0

"Out! Out! Out…" 0

"Alright, Hill, I've already spoken with you. Honestly, I don't want to do this either, but I have no choice," Sheng Deshi said as he waved a stone axe in his hand and shouted, "Warriors of Bonili Tribe, let's expand our territory for our homeland!" 0

"Roar!" The warriors of Bonili Tribe behind Sheng Deshi responded in unison, brandishing their weapons and shouting loudly as they charged forward. The Andi People saw the Bonili warriors rushing towards them and also shouted loudly, waving their weapons to fight back. 0

On this land, the Andi People and Bonili Tribe were locked in battle without any intention of retreating; even the leaders of both tribes and the Vice Chief were involved. Archers from both sides began to shoot arrows; one by one they flew out, embedding themselves in the bodies of both tribes' members. Some were struck down immediately; others were seriously injured yet endured; some had their weapon-holding hands wounded but quickly switched to their other hand to continue fighting fiercely… 0

Blood stained the originally vibrant green vegetation. The two sides had already turned fierce, their faces twisted in rage, even blinded by bloodlust. They continued to shout loudly, blood trickling from the corners of their mouths. Yet, they did not retreat; they pressed forward. The Andi People fought to protect their homeland, willing to die on this land without hesitation. The Bonili Tribe, seeking to expand their territory for the sake of their race, invaded the Andi People's home. Though they knew they could have chosen differently, they acted for the sake of their kin, believing that their own bloodshed would pave a better future for their people. 0

The slaughter continued. In this jungle, by this riverbank, the Andi People and the Bonili Tribe fought desperately for their beliefs. Each person here bore traces of blood; both sides had severely injured kin among them, with wounds marking their bodies, some blinded, others losing hands and feet—their means of survival. 0

They pressed on, seemingly unwilling to stop the killing until one side was completely dead or surrendered. 0

As time passed, victory began to tilt toward the fierce Bonili Tribe, yet the Andi People held firm. 0

"Sima Chuan, what should we do?" Qiong gently asked Sima Chuan beside her. 0

Luo Mengqi was retching at the sight of such brutality for the first time; even with the Crimson Face merged within her, she could not escape its effects. Yiling stayed close to Luo Mengqi. 0

But when Qiong looked at Sima Chuan, she was stunned—Sima Chuan was crying. It was the first time in a long while that she had seen him cry; usually, she either saw his smiling face or his indifferent expression but never this. 0

Qiong softly asked, "Chuan, why are you... crying?" 0

Even though Qiong's voice was quiet, Luo Mengqi and Yiling still heard her. 0

Luo Mengqi had stopped retching and without a word turned around and kicked Sima Chuan away. 0
