“Xingrui knew about my new technology and came to me directly after her failure, hoping to merge with Crimson Face. I warned her that the initial fusion experiments carried significant risks, and failure could even lead to her death. However, Xingrui seemed unfazed; she was eager to assist me with the experiment. Eventually, I had no choice but to agree to the fusion. What I didn’t expect was that the initial fusion of Crimson Face and Xingrui succeeded remarkably well, with only one flaw: the immense pain she had to endure during the process. To protect this remote and tranquil town, Xingrui gritted her teeth and persevered. She is truly a person worthy of admiration.” Markett paused, lost in thought, his expression reflecting deep respect.
“I remember Crimson Face telling me that you were the youngest and most promising Sage. How could you…” Luo Mengqi wondered if what Crimson Face had said was true. The person before her, hailed as the youngest and most promising Sage, was actually Sima Chuan’s grandfather.
Markett turned to look at Luo Mengqi, smiling as he said, “In a way, it’s not inaccurate to say I’m the youngest Sage. Crimson Face didn’t lie to you.” He then asked, “You like Noel, don’t you?”
Luo Mengqi glanced at Markett, then at Sima Chuan, and nodded.
“Ha ha, you don’t need to worry. Although Noel isn’t one of your Earthlings, he has lived among you for so long that he won’t stay here for too long either. Once we finish these matters, I’ll be going with Noel.”
Upon hearing Markett’s words, Sima Chuan felt relieved. His concern was that Markett would want him to stay here indefinitely, which would make him uncomfortable and complicate things for Luo Mengqi. After considering this, Sima Chuan approached Luo Mengqi, smiling at her without blinking. Her face flushed under his gaze, and she retorted angrily, “What are you staring at? If you keep looking at me like that, I’ll poke your eyes out.”
Sima Chuan chuckled and replied, “I’m just admiring your beauty. Besides, would you really do that?”
“Hmph.” Luo Mengqi turned her head away, but a slight smile crept onto her lips.
Markett watched the two with amusement but remained silent. Meanwhile, Adela felt an unusual sensation in her heart as if something of hers had been taken away. As for Betis, she was seething with indignation. Just as she was about to confront Sima Chuan, she noticed him holding Luo Mengqi’s face with a serious expression. “Once I finish these tasks,” he said, “I’ll return to my wandering life—traveling everywhere, having fun. I’ll take my grandfather, you, Qiong, my master, Liu Chuan, and everyone else who should come along. We’ll use the Noel Battleship to explore different planets and roam through the universe, living carefree days. Whether you agree or not doesn’t matter; I will make it happen.”
“Hmph! That depends on my mood,” replied Luo Mengqi, shaking off his hand while pretending to consider his words. Deep down, however, she felt as sweet as honey.
Watching the interaction between Sima Chuan and Luo Mengqi, Adela began formulating a plan. On the other hand, Betis, unable to contain herself any longer and wanting to rush over to hit Sima Chuan, found herself being held back. Turning around, she saw that it was Adela. The latter shook her head in warning. Realizing how clever Adela was, Betis decided against acting rashly; surely she would find a way to deal with that rascal named Noel. With this thought in mind, she returned to her seat and glared at Sima Chuan with displeasure.
“Sage, please continue; we want to learn more about what happened back then,” Qiong quietly prompted.
“Cough, cough.” Clearing his throat, Markett continued, “After the fusion, Xingrui became stronger. Since Crimson Face is of the fire element and was used for the first time, Xingrui destroyed several Mechanical Soldiers from the Mechanical Legion in an instant. Nai, upon learning of this, mistakenly believed that I had instructed Xingrui to fuse in order to destroy his Mechanical Soldiers. He then sent another group of Mechanical Soldiers from the Mechanical Legion. Not only were Xingrui's family killed, but many residents of the town also fell victim. Xingrui became incredibly furious and began hunting down those Mechanical Soldiers. I couldn't dissuade him; he relentlessly pursued that group of Mechanical Soldiers.
“At that moment, Nai took advantage of this situation and reported to the commander that my newly developed type of Mechanical Soldier had failed and become extremely difficult to control. The Mechanical Guards he sent out were all destroyed. Initially, the commander didn't believe it, but later the guards he dispatched happened to see Xingrui attacking Nai's Mechanical Legion. Without hesitation, they classified Xingrui as a Level One threat due to the immense destructive power he displayed, especially as he destroyed Nai's Mechanical Soldiers right before their eyes. The commander ordered a capture of Xingrui, but this only fueled Xingrui's anger further, causing Crimson Face's fire element to grow stronger, leading to the destruction of all the Mechanical Guards sent to apprehend him.
“When they found themselves at a loss, they came to me, asking me to create another type of Mechanical Soldier to capture Xingrui. Reluctantly, after improving the technical data, I used Noel's body data as a reference and created Akapa. Qiong is a precursor to both Akapa and Crimson Face; Qiong is merely a physical entity that cannot fuse but isn't too inferior either. Although Akapa had not yet fused, I changed Akapa's attribute to ice element, making it relatively more perfect compared to Crimson Face.
“After Akapa subdued Xingrui, I proceeded to separate Crimson Face from Xingrui. The Mechanical Guards took Xingrui away. I wanted to plead my case but had no opportunity; Nai insisted on recovering Crimson Face as it was a failed product. I knew what he intended to do and refused vehemently; he simply took it by force. If Star Master hadn't already known about my creation of Akapa, Akapa would have been taken as well.”
“What happened next?” Yiling asked immediately as Markett paused, her curiosity piqued as if she were listening to a story.
Markett took a sip of water and continued, “After I settled things with Akapa and Qiong Wan, I began working on the construction of the Noel Battleship. During this time, Nai occasionally visited but was always sent away by Qiong and Akapa.”
Adela curiously asked, “Then Sage, why didn’t you just tell my father and the others?”
“Tell them? How could I? I once thought about doing that but was warned by Nai that if I revealed these matters to your father and the others, he would destroy Sterco Town right before me. Moreover, Nai intended to rebel and seize control of the entire planet—who would believe such claims?” Markett replied with a hint of helplessness.
“Then Sage should come with me to Star Palace,” Adela suggested again. Upon hearing Adela’s words, Markett laughed: “Alright, we’ll follow you into Star Palace to meet your father and the others.”
At that moment, Luo Mengqi quietly leaned close to Sima Chuan’s ear: “Should we change our appearance back so your grandfather can see?”
“Yeah, I almost forgot about that,” Sima Chuan chuckled as he pulled Qiong over. “Let’s change our looks back.”
“Okay.” Without any hesitation, Qiong immediately got to work. The four of them quickly transformed back into their original appearances. Seeing Sima Chuan and the others revert their looks, Markett smiled: “I thought you all wouldn’t want to change back.”
"Of course not, Grandpa, I just forgot for a moment," Luo Mengqi said with a playful smile.
"Yes, Grandpa, we changed our appearance because we were afraid Nai would recognize us."
"Alright, alright, I understand. Let's leave it at that for now. Let's go to Kamanda and have a good meal," Markett said as he walked out directly. Sima Chuan shook his head and said, "Qiong, change your appearance."
