After discussing for a while, Aitak dismissed everyone and returned to the Star Maiden Palace.
Once back at the Star Maiden Palace, Sima Chuan and the others had not yet returned. Aitak directly led Markett into the study.
"Sage, can you create a highly intelligent, powerful Mechanical Warrior?" Aitak asked as soon as he sat down.
"Yes," Markett nodded.
"Good, then make a few of them, enough for a team."
"However..." Markett appeared hesitant.
"What’s wrong? Just say it," Aitak inquired curiously.
"If they are entirely mechanical, I fear that Nai will find out and try to capture these Mechanical Warriors. If Nai succeeds in capturing and modifying them, it would be troublesome," Markett explained.
"How could that happen?" Aitak asked, puzzled.
"Because during the process of traversing, there is a high chance that the machines could be damaged. At this stage, the Time Reversal Device is not very stable. If we were to travel back, I have an idea: we could create Mechanical Armor. This armor would cover the entire body like clothing, and the metal used for this armor is self-repairing."
"Alright, Sage. Make more of this Mechanical Armor. The repairs and improvements on the Time Reversal Device are nearly complete; you can set that aside and let them handle it. As for the personnel for the traversal, I still need to think about it. You can go rest now!"
"Understood." Markett nodded and turned to leave.
Aitak leaned back in his chair, his brow furrowed. At that moment, he heard the mechanical butler's notification: "Respected Star Master, Star Maiden Adela is outside."
Aitak straightened his clothes and composed himself. "Let her in."
Aitak walked directly over to Adela, putting on a smile as he asked, "Why aren't you spending more time with Noel?"
After hugging Aitak, Adela replied, "We came back as soon as we knew you were home. Mother is making dinner now."
"Is it that late?" Aitak was a bit surprised.
"Yes," Adela said, noticing her father's expression. "Father, are you tired?"
"I'm fine; I've gotten used to it," Aitak smiled.
Adela had already anticipated Aitak's response, so she asked, "Father, why did you want me to be engaged to Noel?"
"What? Are you dissatisfied? Did he bully you? I can go teach him a lesson, or you can just call off the engagement," Aitak's tone changed immediately upon hearing Adela's words.
"No, it's not that," Adela hurriedly said. "I'm just curious."
"Oh, I see. If that boy bullies you, just tell me. Even if his grandfather is Markett, the highest steward, I'll still go and give him a beating."
"Please don't, Father." Adela tugged at Aitak's sleeve. "Noel treats me well; he wouldn't bully me."
"Heh heh." Aitak chuckled. "I was just joking; why are you so nervous?"
"Hmph, I'm not talking to you anymore." Adela pouted and turned her head away.
"Alright, alright, I admit my mistake; no more jokes about Noel." Aitak stopped teasing and began reminiscing. "Noel must be nineteen now, right? Time flies!" He sighed and continued, "Back when we were young, Noel's father was developing technology alongside Noel's grandfather Markett while I took charge of public affairs. By chance, I met Noel's father Jeff when he was breaking away from Markett to establish Technology Room on his own and was looking for funding. Knowing his father was Markett, we quickly got acquainted. Later, I learned that his research focused on human lifespan and machinery. After listening to him explain his work, I thought it was quite promising, so I decided to donate funds and let him handle it himself."
"From the moment we met, we became friends. Later, in the Technology Room, Jeff got to know Noel's mother, Bella. They fell in love and got married. It was only later that I learned your mother and Bella were very good friends. So when your mother found out Bella had given birth to Noel, she made a marriage pact with her."
"Wasn't I born yet at that time?" Adela asked.
"Yes, your mother had just become pregnant with you," Aitak nodded.
"So I was sold by my mother, huh?" Adela said somewhat reluctantly.
"Well then, if you're not happy about this marriage, I should go talk to your mother and cancel it," Aitak said as he started to walk out.
"Wait, don't cancel it!" Adela quickly grabbed Aitak.
"What's wrong? Can't bear to let it go?" Aitak asked with a smile. He didn't know why, but every time he chatted with his family, he could temporarily forget all his worries and always felt very happy. Perhaps this is what family love is.
"Hmph, it's unfair to him," Adela said as she pulled Aitak outside. "Alright, Mother has finished preparing dinner; let's hurry up."
"Okay, okay!" Aitak laughed repeatedly.
After enjoying a warm dinner, Sima Chuan did not go out with Luo Mengqi and the others. Instead, he lay on the roof of Star Maiden Palace, gazing at the starry sky. Beside him, Markett lay quietly.
"Grandpa, did Nai really travel back in time?" Sima Chuan asked. The Noel Battleship had scanned planet DR-5 several times without finding any trace of Nai or any tools they might have used to escape. The only explanation left was that Nai truly traveled back in time. However, Sima Chuan was still unsure and wanted to ask his grandfather.
"Aitak has discussed this matter in the council and confirmed that Nai has indeed traveled back in time, most likely during the chaotic period," Markett replied calmly.
"So if he changes the past, will it really affect us now?" Sima Chuan asked again.
"If the past and present are connected, and Nai changed the past, then the present will definitely be affected, and the impact will be immense," Markett said with a serious expression.
"They must be looking for the time traveler now, right?"
Markett frowned and looked at Sima Chuan: "Noel, what are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking that if we're looking for a qualified time traveler, then I should count as one," Sima Chuan replied with a slight smile.
"No, you absolutely cannot go. Grandpa has been alone all these years; now that you're back, he just wants you to be by his side, living happily without any troubles. Can't you understand that?" Tears began to flow from Markett's eyes.
"No, Grandpa, I understand. That's why I want to travel back and confront Nai, to resolve his ambitions."
"You..." Sima Chuan ignored Markett and continued, "This is my mission, just like you once did for Akapa. Resolving Nai's ambitions is his mission. Now I realize that Akapa was created based on my data. Now that Akapa and I have merged into one, I am Akapa, and Akapa is me. This is our mission."
At this point, Markett had stopped crying and just stared at Sima Chuan, finally managing to utter a single question: "Are you sure?"
"Sure," Sima Chuan affirmed with a nod.
"Ah!" Markett sighed deeply and slowly turned to walk away.
