In a somewhat hazy memory, a girl dressed in a Red and White Miko Outfit sat quietly beneath a Spring Water fountain, allowing the water to cascade down onto her head. 0

At that moment, a boy covered in mud, his face resembling that of a calico cat, crawled out from the grass beside her. Upon seeing the strange girl, he curiously asked, "What are you doing? Want to go catch some Crickets?" 0

Inside a café, a Beautiful Maiden in a Miko Outfit approached a man wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap. With a decisive thud, she placed a Marriage Registration Form in front of him and calmly stated, "I promised Menglu I would take care of you. Let's get married." 0

Her indifferent expression and the casualness of her words made it seem like she was discussing something utterly mundane. 0

As the man, whose face was completely obscured by his sunglasses and cap, looked at the Marriage Registration Form, he couldn't help but spray his coffee everywhere. 0

Struggling against the aches throughout his body, he managed to sit up and put on his slightly damaged helmet. Yang Xiaoyou's mind flashed with some inexplicable scenes. 0

Feng Lin's ancestors had moved to Huaxia and established a shrine that had been around for over two hundred years. Although their numbers were few, through over a century of intermarriage, their clan could now be considered authentically Han Chinese. 0

However, some customs still adhered to ancestral traditions. 0

In that past life remembered, he had a deep connection with this fellow. There was one time when he went to the mountains with Qi Menglu and Chen Hao; after getting lost, he first encountered Feng Lin. But due to his young age at the time, he only recalled this much later. Without that chain of memories, he doubted he could remember anything now. 0

Not long after, Qi Menglu replaced him in Feng Lin's affections. Discovering this new companion brought him some trouble due to Qi Menglu's dying wish. Reflecting on those memories made Yang Xiaoyou shake his head, trying to calm himself down. 0

This lifetime would not repeat the tragedy of the past; thus, some beautiful troubles could be avoided. Yang Xiaoyou liked beautiful women, but due to immense pressure from fleeing in that past life, he had engaged in fleeting romances more often than not. Now recalling certain moments made him feel embarrassed as an inexperienced youth. 0

However, because of the precarious situation back then and several tragedies affecting his loved ones, he had strived to avoid emotional entanglements. When it came to fulfilling Qi Menglu's promise regarding Feng Lin, he primarily chose to evade it. 0

"Getting discovered by this girl is genuinely troublesome. But it's fortunate that it's just her who found out; given her personality, she likely won't spread it around," Yang Xiaoyou thought while awkwardly kneading his sore muscles from overexertion. 0

Yet this was significant; he still needed to explain things to Feng Lin. He hoped she would help him keep it under wraps. Given her tendency to casually remark on things, she must have recognized him; otherwise, she would have likely ignored him entirely. 0

Moreover, it was best to inquire about the situation inside the prison. He needed to know who that fellow was who had fired at him earlier; Noah and the others should have started infiltrating the prison by now. 0

Relaxing her entire body, she endured the soft, fluffy sensation as she stood up, picked up the fellow that was wobbling on the ground, and placed it back into her pocket. Yang Xiaoyou was also standing at the entrance outside. 0

Observing the situation outside, this building seemed to be a resting place for the prison guards. Some congealed bloodstains on the outer wall suggested that there had been unfortunate souls directly infected by the air when the virus first broke out. However, due to the prison's unique environment, it likely hadn't escalated too severely here. 0

Before long, the distinct sound of wooden clogs echoed from behind her. Turning her head, she saw Feng Lin emerge with an expressionless face. Yang Xiaoyou couldn't help but take a couple of steps forward to block her path. "Ahem, it's been almost ten years since we last met; I can hardly recognize you." 0

Initially intending to ignore Yang Xiaoyou and leave, Feng Lin paused upon hearing those words. A flicker of surprise crossed her clear eyes, as if she hadn't expected Yang Xiaoyou to recognize her. 0

"What is it?" Feng Lin asked quietly, gazing at Yang Xiaoyou. Her tone was crisp and pleasant, though it remained quite flat. 0

"The situation is like this," Yang Xiaoyou said, feeling relieved that she was willing to listen. She then organized her thoughts and selectively explained her circumstances. 0

Essentially, while visiting an exhibition, a virus outbreak had caused significant trouble for her. She had witnessed something she shouldn't have and was now at risk of being silenced. At that time, she had appeared in her current state, having just escaped without changing clothes and unexpectedly saving a few Mercenaries. Thus, she had kept them around for safety's sake. 0

"Where are they?" After listening to Yang Xiaoyou, Feng Lin tilted her head thoughtfully before asking in a calm tone. 0

Upon hearing this question, Yang Xiaoyou turned pale. From what she remembered about this fellow, it seemed she was preparing to 'help' by eliminating anyone who knew too much. 0

In Feng Lin's eyes, aside from those she knew personally, she displayed a significant indifference towards others' lives. Perhaps in her view, killing someone was no different from slaughtering a chicken—though she didn't particularly enjoy killing chickens. 0

"Uh, they're good people; I hope they can help me investigate some matters," Yang Xiaoyou hinted subtly. 0

After hearing this, Feng Lin chose not to pursue the topic any further and simply walked past her towards the front. This left Yang Xiaoyou unable to ask about the prison situation as she'd intended. 0

However, at that moment, Yang Xiaoyou understood that the hardest part had already passed. Given her naturally poor communication skills, she accepted that there was little chance of leaking any information now. 0

With this burden lifted, Yang Xiaoyou limped along behind her. 0

It seemed that Feng Lin noticed something off about Yang Xiaoyou's gait and paused briefly before turning around. She extended her delicate Palm, pressing it against Yang Xiaoyou's chest while swiftly kicking out with her leg, sending Yang Xiaoyou flying. Using the palm on her chest as a pivot point, she spun Yang Xiaoyou several times in mid-air. 0

As she spun around, her hands pressed, pinched, struck, and slapped various parts of Yang Xiaoyou's body. After a few rotations, she tossed him to the ground like a rag doll and turned to leave. 0

Once he stood up again, looking at the beautiful figure ahead, Yang Xiaoyou couldn't help but smile bitterly. "No wonder she can face me head-on during my peak; her control over strength is nearly perfect." 0

At that moment, every spot on Yang Xiaoyou's body that Feng Lin had touched radiated a comforting sensation. The muscle spasms and strains intensified by his Limit Release had improved by about sixty to seventy percent; it was a perfect massage technique. 0

In his memory, Luo Guohui embodied the pinnacle of human versatility, excelling in both firearms and hand-to-hand combat. However, Feng Lin, despite being inexperienced with guns, would still have over an eighty percent chance of winning in close combat against Luo Guohui, regardless of whether the opponent had a firearm. 0

"An eye for an eye! You despicable outsiders! Let go of the captain!" A roar and chaotic sounds erupted from the cafeteria ahead, interspersed with gleeful cheers and whistles. 0

Arriving at the cafeteria entrance, Yang Xiaoyou felt a wave of gloom wash over him as he surveyed the chaos inside. Trouble was indeed brewing. 0

The once spacious cafeteria was now packed tightly with inmates in prison uniforms. A small number of armed guards were scattered around, and a mixed odor of sweat and filth hung in the hot air, making one feel slightly nauseous. 0

In the center of the cafeteria, a space had spontaneously cleared. Noah and Nobunaga Hideyoshi stood there with an Elder, facing off against another fully armed group dressed entirely differently from the guards. Judging by their attire, they appeared to be a disbanded unit of the U.S. Army. 0

Their presence here explained how that group outside had formed like flies drawn to excrement. 0

On the floor lay the body of a civilian dressed in ordinary clothes—the man who had attempted to ambush Yang Xiaoyou but ended up shot dead. 0

Upon closer inspection, it became evident that among the prisoners and guards were others dressed distinctly. 0

One group consisted of members from Yuying Middle School and Royal Academy of Basic Studies who had participated in the School Trip; however, their numbers had already dwindled by half. Qi Menglu and Liang Wuxuan stood out among them, attracting many intense gazes from the surrounding prisoners. 0

Another group wore various ordinary clothes; they were likely other civilians rescued by that combat team. 0

Seeing that one of those they had worked so hard to save—almost at the cost of their own lives—had been killed for no reason made the members of that combat team understandably furious. 0

However, at that moment, their captain was held at knifepoint by Nobunaga Hideyoshi, leading to a tense standoff between both sides. 0

"After you," Yang Xiaoyou initially intended to let Feng Lin go first, pretending not to know her. 0

However, before he could finish, the fellow had already walked towards the Field Trip Group, naturally avoiding those prisoners looking to take advantage of the situation. As for pretending not to know her, perhaps it wasn't necessary at all. 0

"Is killing someone for their life really a thing? Please understand, he shot first without reason. I merely retaliated once, and because of him, I almost fell into the Horde below. The death penalty in Hawaii has long been abolished, Idiot." As Yang Xiaoyou entered the cafeteria, he headed straight for the Central Area while speaking, his voice sounding somewhat strange through the helmet. 0

When he entered with Feng Lin, everyone's attention was focused ahead. But as soon as Yang Xiaoyou spoke, all eyes quickly turned towards him. 0

"So it's you!" The burly man who had started roaring turned pale and immediately aimed his gun at Yang Xiaoyou. At the same time, Noah raised his hand and pointed his gun at him as well. The other team members also readied their weapons, and the atmosphere became tense to the extreme. 0

"I'm merely stating a fact. Just like how you're threatening my life right now, I have every right to kill you." Yang Xiaoyou remained unfazed, though his muscles were tense and his focus was entirely on the opponent's gun, ready to dodge any lethal bullets at a moment's notice. 0

With so many Meat Shields around, this was not a difficult task. 0

"Can everyone calm down for a moment? Friends, my partner here is just a bit hot-headed; please understand." At that moment, the soldier with Nobunaga Hideyoshi's dagger pressed against his neck spoke up. 0

His tone was relatively calm, as if the dagger at his throat was not something that could easily take his life. 0
