On a secluded road, a sexy girl with fiery red hair, her face adorned with colorful paint and a figure that matched her vibrant appearance, casually leaned against a slightly scratched taxi. Her relaxed posture accentuated her alluring curves. 0

At that moment, she was cheerfully waving at a man who had just gotten out of the car. 0

"I hope you can think it over seriously. Goodbye." 0

"I hope we never meet again. Thank you." The man, who had just turned to leave, quickened his pace upon hearing her words, muttering under his breath. 0

"Team leader, it seems like you really liked him. But if he doesn't want to, there's nothing we can do. Besides, we don't even know his name or what he does," the taxi driver said with a hint of helplessness. 0

The person they were talking about seemed to be a student. Although he appeared somewhat frail and lacked a certain masculinity in his looks, his reaction time and ability to handle stress were far superior to those of the others. In their overly enthusiastic group, having someone calm like him was indeed necessary; too bad he wasn't interested. 0

"Hehe, I'll find a way," the red-haired woman said, still squinting and waving her hand. She adjusted her cap, revealing a fox-like smile hidden beneath the brim. 0

"Talk about bad luck; at least the worst didn't happen," Yang Xiaoyou thought as he stepped off the train. 0

Not getting caught by the police and slapped with the label of radicals was already a stroke of good fortune. Otherwise, he would have been torn between violently resisting or obediently accepting his fate. 0

Gun control in the country was quite strict, and he had no opportunity to acquire one through proper channels. If he wanted to resist violently, it would be difficult to eliminate all witnesses. On the other hand, if he chose not to resist, even though he was still underage, he would likely face re-education. 0

For now, his strongest skill remained shooting. After two months of training, Yang Xiaoyou was confident that if he had a gun in hand, he could handle most challenges head-on. Without one, however, thanks to his improved strength and combat skills, he could take down skilled mercenaries or special forces operatives. 0

Changzhou was only about forty to fifty minutes by train from Shanghai. With the school year approaching in September, the train station was bustling with students. 0

Yang Xiaoyou also needed to consider the upcoming school year. He no longer had to worry about his parents wandering abroad for so long; however, he did need to check in on Chen Hao and the Qimenglu family. 0

When his exceptional parents left, they entrusted him to take care of himself, just wanting to ensure that he was safe and sound. 0

"I wonder if Chen Hao has come back for the summer vacation. Well, school is starting soon, so I might as well not go to his house yet." Yang Xiaoyou pondered about his friend who had been taken away by a pilot during the Special Recruitment, but suddenly thought of his sharp-tongued sister who was not very fond of him. He decided it would be better to head to the Qimenglu family first. 0

Being randomly berated by someone was quite annoying, but honestly, things weren't much better at the Qimenglu family either. 0

"Hey, you brat, why are you here again?" In a villa located in a high-end residential area, a middle-aged man with a fairly handsome appearance glared at Yang Xiaoyou with an unhappy expression. 0

However, before he could finish his complaint, he was struck on the head with a spatula. "Xiao You is here! Come in quickly, don't listen to this old jerk. Menglu went to her tutor for extra lessons and will be back for dinner. Stay and eat with us." 0

The beautiful hostess wielding the spatula rested her chin on her hand and smiled gently while simultaneously applying more pressure with the spatula. 0

"Uncle Qi, Aunt Tang," Yang Xiaoyou replied obediently. These were Qi Menglu's parents. Without a doubt, Qi Menglu's mother was a very capable housewife, but her father was somewhat lacking; despite being an adult, he still acted like a child. 0

Ever since he and Chen Hao started middle school, this fellow had made things difficult for both of them, often lamenting that his life was coming to an end while doting excessively on Qi Menglu. The girl's current personality had much to do with her father's influence. 0

Regardless of how the other party treated him, Yang Xiaoyou's respect for them never diminished. He remembered how they helped save him when his parents were in trouble; Qi Qiusheng had taken a bullet from a large-caliber sniper rifle that shattered his left arm. Not long after that incident and the news of Qi Menglu's death, he eventually succumbed to despair. 0

"Brat, just looking at your physique makes me sick. You need to exercise more; remember to pay for it," Qi Qiusheng said with an exasperated expression as he looked at Yang Xiaoyou's body. 0

Among the families of his father's three comrades, Qi Menglu's father was the only one with a title. This was due to an incident during the Vietnam War where he saved an important figure; because of this, Qi Menglu was able to enter the Royal Academy of Basic Studies. 0

The reason he urged Yang Xiaoyou to exercise was that they owned a gym that was well-equipped and high-end, gaining quite a reputation throughout Changzhou. 0

In an era where martial arts were flourishing in the Chinese Empire and various gyms were popular, standing out among them was no small feat. His nominal title certainly helped; wealthy people cared more about status, and having a noble run a gym elevated its prestige. 0

Although the subsidies for nobles were lower than those for minimum living standards, this situation highlighted the value of such empty titles. 0

"You daughter-loving, perverted father, just give it up! Your daughter has grown up and no longer clings to you," Yang Xiaoyou said, dropping her obedient facade as she began to bicker with Qi Qiusheng after Qi Menglu entered the kitchen. Respect was one thing, but casual exchanges were another. 0

Continuously targeting each other's weak spots, Qi Qiusheng quickly became enraged, and soon the two were wrestling with each other. 0

"Hey? It seems like your strength has increased quite a bit! I can't tell from your physique," Qi Qiusheng remarked after managing to subdue Yang Xiaoyou. 0

"Really? That's just because you're getting old and losing your strength. I'm still in my rapid growth phase," Yang Xiaoyou replied with a sarcastic expression. However, Heart couldn't help but admire the retired military uncle a bit; she had intentionally held back during their playful scuffle but was still caught off guard. 0

At that moment, the sound of the door in the hall turning could be heard, and a weak yet pleasant voice came through, "I'm here! Oh? Why are you here? Hmph, just here to eat for free." 0

Qi Menglu walked into the hall with her bag. Upon seeing Yang Xiaoyou, she rolled her eyes at him, casually kicked off her shoes to the side, and slipped on her own slippers, revealing her cute little feet. 0

At the dining table, while bickering with Qi Menglu and listening to her chattering about her firsthand experience of the 617 incident from two months ago, Yang Xiaoyou felt a warm sensation as he noticed Qi Qiusheng glaring at him fiercely and the mature beauty of Qi Menglu's mother serving him food. 0

He had never fully understood how happy his life was. Their fates would undoubtedly change; events from his memories must never happen again. 0

Afterward, Yang Xiaoyou buried his head in his food to avoid revealing his slightly moist eyes. 0

"Brat, you're in your second year of high school now; you can't mess up your grades. Otherwise, your father will have to teach you a lesson. You and Menglu are different from other students; you don't have any strong background. The college entrance exam in two years is extremely important for you. If only you could be as worry-free as Chen Hao," Qi Qiusheng said with his arms crossed and an unhappy expression as he prepared to leave after dinner. 0

"I know! This is about my entire life! Don't worry; no matter what happens, I can guarantee I'll get into the same school as Menglu," Yang Xiaoyou rolled his eyes in response. 0

"What do you mean about your entire life? Go die!" Just as Yang Xiaoyou finished speaking, a slipper flew toward his face. 0

Catching the cute slipper, Yang Xiaoyou looked at the somewhat flustered Qi Menglu with a puzzled expression. Did he say something wrong? He really couldn't understand this girl. 0

"Alright, it's late; hurry up and go. Stop coming over just to mooch off meals," Qi Qiusheng said with an even more displeased expression as he snatched the slipper from Yang Xiaoyou's hand and pushed him out the door before closing it behind him. 0

Yang Xiaoyou, pushed out the door, smiled casually. He knew that Qi Qiusheng had checked his exam results at school every time. If he showed a continuous decline in performance, Qi Menglu's Mother would call him over for dinner and have a heart-to-heart talk. 0

Of course, ever since he entered middle school, Qi Qiusheng had never taken the initiative to invite him. 0

When Yang Xiaoyou arrived home in a good mood, he was surprised to find two police officers in uniform and a man in plain clothes standing at his doorstep. His heart tightened; could it be that the incident in Shanghai had been discovered? That shouldn't be the case; he believed he hadn't left any traces. 0

"Are you Yang Xiaoyou?" The middle-aged police officer leading the group had a somewhat gentle expression, which eased Yang Xiaoyou's heart. It seemed this wasn't about that incident. 0

"Yes, what can I do for you, Officer?" Yang Xiaoyou's obedient demeanor reappeared, showing slight nervousness but maintaining politeness. 0

"There's no need to worry. I'm just here to take a statement. We want to understand another perspective on the 617 incident since you got separated from your travel group. We've already obtained your preliminary notes from the embassy; now we just want to ask some questions about the details," said the middle-aged man in plain clothes, who had stubble and appeared somewhat disheveled, smiling as he spoke. 0

Hearing this, Yang Xiaoyou relaxed completely. It made sense; they were asking him questions not because they suspected him but to gather information about Kapa City for their analysis. 0

Yang Xiaoyou had meticulously planned everything. While dealing with weapon sales, he had also sought help from the Chinese Embassy in the United States. With his knowledge of evasion tactics, there was no way he would make mistakes in the details. 0

However, he took note of the plainclothes man's appearance; he must be an official member of the Special Operations Department from Changzhou or Jiangsu. After all, one could make professional judgments based on expressions and tone. If nothing unexpected happened, it seemed likely that he would have further dealings with him in the future. 0
