"Hey? Why are you playing dead so early in the morning?" Liu Lianyue asked, glancing at Yang Xiaoyou, who was slumped over like a corpse. She took a bite of her bread and poked him curiously, taking advantage of the fact that no one was nearby. 0

Having sat behind Yang Xiaoyou for quite some time, Liu Lianyue was familiar with his usual afternoon routine of pretending to be dead. However, it was unusual for him to show such lethargy right from the start of the day when he typically had a good energy level in the mornings. 0

Now that Yang Xiaoyou was considered an external member of the Common Unity Party, Liu Lianyue found herself being somewhat 'concerned' about him. Aside from occasionally adopting a senior's demeanor when they spoke alone and being a bit rough around the edges, he wasn't too bothersome. 0

Of course, due to the shattering of her dreams as a soft-spoken girl, it was impossible for Liu Lianyue to develop any fondness for Yang Xiaoyou. 0

"I didn't have breakfast; I'm so hungry." This morning, because of Mo Wenfu's antics, what little Yang Xiaoyou had eaten hardly counted as a meal. 0

Tilting his head slightly and resting his cheek on the table, Yang Xiaoyou stared at the bread in Liu Lianyue's hand with glazed eyes. 0

Seeing his expression, a mischievous grin crossed Liu Lianyue's face as she waved the bread in front of him before quickly taking a bite herself, feigning delight at how delicious it was. 0

Yang Xiaoyou's eyes followed the movement of the bread, making the scene quite amusing. 0

Just as Liu Lianyue extended the bread again to tease him, Yang Xiaoyou suddenly lifted his head from his half-dead state and gulped down the entire piece in one swift motion. 0

If Liu Lianyue hadn't pulled her hand back so quickly, she might have lost a finger to him. 0

"Wow, that was fast." She exclaimed, staring at the crumbs left behind in shock. Seeing Yang Xiaoyou chewing away at what remained on the table made her feel like crying; that had been her breakfast! 0

Thus, by midday, there were now two people slumped over on the table. 0

"You jerk! You made me starve all morning!" During lunch break at the Traditional Literature Club, Liu Lianyue grumbled at Yang Xiaoyou while eating her bento box. 0

Previously, both Yang Xiaoyou and Liu Lianyue used to eat in the cafeteria together. However, Huang Wei was quite clingy and there were too many people trying to flirt with Liu Lianyue. So she had moved to the Activity Room to escape Huang Wei's persistent advances. 0

Seeing an opportunity with Yang Xiaoyou available, she started bringing her own lunch to eat in the Activity Room. The bento box was 'slightly' oversized and filled with ingredients she had prepared herself. The portion size and nutrition were maximized; although she still felt hungry sometimes, it was much better than before. 0

Anyway, it was only Liu Lianyue who could see it, so it didn't matter. 0

"You put it right in front of me, so who can I blame?" While quickly devouring the food in front of her, Yang Xiaoyou shot a glance at her companion, a bit annoyed. 0

"Ah, no way, I have to eat this," Liu Lianyue said, seemingly unable to resist the temptation. She lifted her fork and stabbed it into the steak that Yang Xiaoyou had cooked. 0

Then she happily popped it into her mouth. "Wow, your mom's cooking is really good." 0

Yang Xiaoyou could only roll her eyes at Liu Lianyue's brazen act, but she didn’t want to make trouble since it was her own cooking. 0

"By the way, there’s been a mission assigned internally to find someone. You should take a look too. If you find this person, just let me know," Liu Lianyue said as she finished off Yang Xiaoyou's steak. It seemed she remembered something and licked her luscious lips before pulling out a photo from her bag for Yang Xiaoyou to see. 0

Looking at the figure of Mo Wenfu in the photo, Yang Xiaoyou couldn't help but narrow her eyes slightly and then shrugged nonchalantly. "This fellow looks a bit familiar. I think I've seen him on some TV show. Who is he?" 0

"He's a hero-level figure. Unfortunately, in today's decaying military, he can't showcase his talents. His situation is very dangerous right now; we must help him. The Common Unity Party needs someone like him," Liu Lianyue said with a hint of emotion. 0

Yang Xiaoyou wasn't interested in continuing the conversation. Initially, she thought that Yongxing's people were arranged by the Minister of National Defense and State Affairs, but now it seemed there was also a possibility related to the Common Unity Party. It would be better if they forced him into a corner before extending an olive branch; after all, Yongxing was an organization with quite a mixed background. 0

"Also, there will be a new batch of members joining soon. You should officially join as well. As your superior, it's necessary for me to introduce you to like-minded partners," Liu Lianyue seemed to remember something else and addressed Yang Xiaoyou. 0

Usually, Liang Wuxuan wouldn’t come around at noon, which led to some discussions about the Common Unity Party being compressed into this time frame by Liu Lianyue. 0

"In a few days? I don't know if I'll have time," Yang Xiaoyou replied, feeling a bit annoyed at the thought of having to go through some party initiation or whatever. Plus, she might need to arrange Mo Wenfu's exit issues during that time. 0

If Mo Wenfu was genuinely willing to help Hive Security develop, then the troubles Nobunaga Hideyoshi had recently encountered could be easily resolved. In terms of grasping the situation on the battlefield, Mo Wenfu was definitely on a ruling level. 0

If anyone could stand shoulder to shoulder with him in her memory, she could only think of three people: Zhao Chen, one of the exposed leaders of the Common Unity Party; the princess of the international giant Arms organization; and herself, who had grown significantly thanks to Cognitive Acceleration back then. 0

Including herself, the four standing at the peak of Tactical Layout were all there based on their achievements. Aside from her being forced into the Mercenary World due to being hunted, one had made a name for himself during the Vietnam War, another had caused the Common Unity Party's weakened forces to struggle against the Regular Army, and the last one had unified the entire Free Arms Trading Market, even gaining respect from several major Arms producers. 0

Since the latter three were from a younger generation, they lacked the mature steadiness and seasoned experience that Mo Wenfu possessed. 0

With Hive Security's not-so-bad armed forces combined with Mo Wenfu's capabilities, their combat power could increase by at least thirty percent, and under special circumstances, it could multiply several times. 0

"Hmph, I'm all set. You have to come when the time comes," Liu Lianyue threatened with a bit of flair. 0

Hearing this, Yang Xiaoyou rolled her eyes. She hoped she wouldn't be expelled for not attending, but she knew it was easier to get on a ship than to get off. 0

Liu Lianyue's enthusiasm and sense of justice were a bit excessive; deep down, she was essentially kind-hearted. 0

However, Yang Xiaoyou also understood that although Liu Lianyue could be kind, she was more supportive of the Common Unity Party's charter and doctrines. If a conflict arose between the two, she would firmly obey the latter. This was her basic belief that allowed her to mask her true nature while pretending to be the obedient older sister. 0

Even now, Yang Xiaoyou found it hard to understand why Liu Lianyue was so unwavering in her decision to join the Common Unity Party's Radicals, even at the cost of her noble status. 0

"If every member of the Common Unity Party were like Liu Lianyue, then... sigh," Yang Xiaoyou sighed. Human desires were the most unpredictable. 0

"Ah!! What? The President has also joined your club? Oh no! That classroom must really be haunted!" It was Friday, and due to the aura surrounding Liang Wuxuan and Liu Lianyue, Yang Xiaoyou secretly slipped away again. 0

On her way, she bumped into Huang Wei, who was filled with grievance. Upon hearing that Liang Wuxuan had joined the Traditional Literature Society, Huang Wei went into a frenzy, riding his bike closely behind Yang Xiaoyou and muttering angrily as if he wanted nothing more than to strangle her and take her place. 0

It seemed that due to deadlines, Huang Wei was forced to join the Supernatural Research Society formed by class leader Zhang Peng. He also joined another looser club simultaneously and participated in activities for both societies. 0

It was because of that society researching supernatural phenomena that after hearing too many stories, Huang Wei became increasingly hesitant to approach Yang Xiaoyou's Activity Room. 0

"Hmph! You’re living in luxury now; you don’t need games anymore. Just give me those limited edition ones and I’ll forgive you," Huang Wei shouted after trying to extort her. 0

"Get lost." Yang Xiaoyou instinctively spat out, though there were many things happening now, some of his interests and hobbies remained unchanged. Those limited edition games he had queued overnight to buy were still his treasured possessions. 0

He had felt heartbroken for a long time after a few of them were discovered and ruined by Qi Menglu. 0

"Uh, it seems I really have to go. I will miss you, and I hope to see you again next Monday. Take care." At that moment, Huang Wei seemed to sense something was off. 0

Suddenly, on the road leading to the bus station, seven or eight fellows with a bad-boy demeanor appeared, seemingly intending to surround both Yang Xiaoyou and Huang Wei. 0

Before Huang Wei could finish speaking, he abruptly pedaled his bike and dashed through a larger gap in the encirclement. The words "take care" lingered in Yang Xiaoyou's ears. 0

It was then that Yang Xiaoyou realized how fast Huang Wei could ride a bike. 0

"That's him! I remember. I didn't expect to spot him right away at the first school we staked out. What luck!" One of the fellows with an unkind expression pointed at Yang Xiaoyou and laughed. 0

With Yang Xiaoyou's currently exceptional memory, he quickly recalled this fellow's face; he was one of the group that had chased Mo Wenfu back then. 0

Yang Xiaoyou himself hadn't expected that someone from that ragtag group could recognize him just from a single impression. That was quite an impressive ability. 0

And it just so happened that the first memory hadn't faded yet when they successfully staked him out. This made it much harder for him to slip away unnoticed. 0

Cough, cough. Due to some rather annoying factors, from now on, the names of domestic cities appearing later will be replaced with their initial letters. The earlier parts will remain unchanged for now; if any issues arise later, they will be corrected. Additionally, continued support from everyone is appreciated. 0
