"Big Sister, what just happened outside?" Among the group hiding in the women's restroom, one of the two burly men who looked like brothers approached.
"Shh, it might be a horde of Zombies passing by. Sigh, this route is probably blocked. We need to find another way into the VIP Lounge. And with all this commotion here, even if that British guy is still alive, he would likely be moving to a safer location under the protection of his bodyguards." Liu Lianyue made a gesture for silence and listened intently with her right ear, frowning slightly.
"Hmm? Wait, something just entered the men's restroom across from us. Tsk, it's not a good time to make noise. I hope that Zombie behaves itself." She gently grasped the doorknob, sensing the movement of the Passing By Horde in the corridor. Liu Lianyue tried to steady her breathing, preparing to deal with any potential threat from the men's restroom once all the Corpses had left.
"Hmm? Is someone there? Or is it something else?" Yang Xiaoyou entered the men's restroom and quickly scanned the interior. Confirming that there were no lurking Corpses, she noticed some movement coming from the restroom across.
After hesitating for a moment, Yang Xiaoyou ultimately decided not to draw her service pistol. Even if there was something amiss, it was likely further ahead where the commotion was happening, not here.
There was no need to risk exposing her position by firing at ordinary Corpses. After confirming that most of the Corpses were passing by toward the source of the disturbance, Yang Xiaoyou gently grasped her doorknob; now was not the right time to attack.
After about ten minutes of silence following the last disturbance from the Corpses, both Yang Xiaoyou and Liu Lianyue opened their eyes simultaneously.
"Now's our chance."
"Now's our chance."
With a bang, both restroom doors flew open simultaneously as two figures—one in black and one in red—swiftly crossed paths.
"Fast! It's human." Yang Xiaoyou raised her left hand just in time to block a kick aimed at her head. The force of the impact sent tingles through her arm; although her arm couldn't match the strength of a thigh, given her current physical condition, anyone capable of delivering such force must be either a special forces soldier or a professional fighter.
Due to the overwhelming power behind the attack, after blocking it, Yang Xiaoyou's balance wavered slightly. This caused her right hand, which had been poised to strike at her opponent's head, to slip down considerably and lose much of its intended force.
As a result, Yang Xiaoyou quickly shifted her right hand from an attack into a grab, attempting to seize her opponent while they were on one leg and use them as leverage against the others behind. From this brief encounter alone, she could tell that her opponent was strong but still within her capability to handle.
Yang Xiaoyou suddenly felt the soft, elastic touch on his right hand.
"Is this... her? How did this fellow get over here?" Realizing something was off, Yang Xiaoyou shifted his attention to the other person's face, a feeling of helplessness washing over him. After pinching twice, he instinctively let go.
"Pervert, die!" At that moment, Liu Lianyue was about to explode with anger. Suppressing the urge to shout, she held back her words and pressed her right leg down on the opponent's shoulder for leverage. Using that as a foundation, she rolled her body backward, delivering a hook kick to the opponent's chin. Her flexible waist traced an impressive arc in the air, and her shirt flipped up during the maneuver, revealing her alluring navel.
The strength of her waist, the force of her right leg pressing down, the momentum from her backward roll, and the power of her left leg's upward hook all merged perfectly together.
This was a manifestation of Liu Lianyue's fury. In a situation where both legs were off the ground, although the attack was quite fierce, if it didn't achieve the desired effect, she would be left vulnerable.
Faced with Liu Lianyue's furious counterattack, Yang Xiaoyou had no choice but to focus. He had indeed not misjudged; Liu Lianyue was strong compared to Luo Guohui and Feng Lin. Although she wasn't as formidable as those freaks, her own strength was undeniably impressive.
With her right leg pressing down on his shoulder, it effectively pinned him in place while also generating a powerful upward hook with her left leg that he needed to respond to with utmost concentration.
"Accelerate." Since the opponent's attack was aimed at his head, Yang Xiaoyou immediately entered a state of Cognitive Acceleration to prevent any issues with his helmet. The originally whistling hook kick slowed down dramatically.
As her foot approached his head, he managed to lean back just enough for it to graze past his helmet. Simultaneously, his left hand, which had been pinned by her right leg, grabbed hold of her elastic leg while his right hand caught her left foot just as it lost momentum from missing its target. He lifted her entire body upside down.
To prevent her head from hitting the ground, Yang Xiaoyou raised his hands slightly. However, this resulted in Liu Lianyue's beautifully curved backside—accentuated by her jeans—landing just below his chin. From the perspective of Liu Lianyue's subordinates watching from a distance, it appeared quite indecent.
The speed of their exchange was incredibly fast, occurring in the blink of an eye. It wasn't until Yang Xiaoyou seized Liu Lianyue that the other three fellows reacted.
The bald taxi driver immediately pulled out a gun nervously and stammered, "Quick! Let go of the leader!"
The strength of the Group Leader was fully understood by the three present, yet they were almost effortlessly subdued, which was truly astonishing.
One fortunate aspect was that, despite the strange appearance, the individual was likely human. Unfortunately, given their elusive identity, it probably did not bode well for the others.
"This fellow is indeed impressive," Yang Xiaoyou mused after a moment, tossing aside the frantic Liu Lianyue while adding, "I mean no harm; I initially thought it was just one of those things."
If the opponent had recklessly opened fire and attracted the Horde ahead, that would have been a tragedy.
After releasing Liu Lianyue, Yang Xiaoyou began to ponder why they had ended up here. If she recalled correctly, Liu Lianyue had reminded her about the party oath she was supposed to take that night; theoretically, she should have been in Z City.
Connecting this with the taxi that had sped past them earlier, it was clear they had rushed over. Did the Common Unity Party have some ulterior motive regarding this incident?
Indeed, if the Common Unity Party were to rescue civilians here and then publicize it, no matter how many they saved, it would significantly boost their reputation. However, their presence near the entrance to the VIP Lounge sparked other thoughts in Yang Xiaoyou's mind.
If the Common Unity Party could grasp George Osborne's influence, whether they sent someone to save him or to eliminate him, it could be turned into political capital. Saving him could establish connections with the British Conservative Party, the foremost military power; killing him could serve as a critique of the current ruling party.
"Hmph! This time I misjudged; I'll practice more next time," Liu Lianyue said after being set down, managing to suppress her urge to lunge again. She crossed her arms and glared with fiery eyes.
Her words interrupted Yang Xiaoyou's train of thought. Hearing such remarks, Yang Xiaoyou paid little heed; Liu Lianyue's statement held truth. Had she chosen a more cautious approach instead of rushing in blindly at first, she might not have been able to restrain her so easily.
However, in terms of combat experience, Liu Lianyue clearly had a disadvantage. She likely had little experience in life-and-death battles at her level. For instance, recklessly attacking without understanding her opponent's strength was quite unwise. While being able to defeat an opponent in one blow is commendable, encountering someone capable of defending themselves easily exposes one's vulnerabilities and leads to counterattacks.
"Your Leader still owes me a favor. So tell me, are you here to kill that Brit or save him?" Yang Xiaoyou's face revealed a playful expression beneath her helmet.
"Do you know where we are from? Do you even know our Leader?!" Hearing Yang Xiaoyou's words, Liu Lianyue couldn't help but feel a bit surprised. The Leader of the Common Unity Party, although not the highest-ranking leader in the party, was still one of the top figures. Moreover, the identity of the Leader was quite mysterious; even someone like her, who was a mid-level leader, had never met them.
However, from the tone of the other person, it seemed they were familiar with the Leader. Liu Lianyue was even more astonished by what followed; she had only received this mission just before entering the city. How did this fellow know about it?
"Kill him? Why would we kill him? That fellow's influence is too great. Are you trying to—" Liu Lianyue's expression changed to one of vigilance, but before she could finish, she was interrupted by Yang Xiaoyou.
"Don't think too much. My goal is to rescue him. I almost forgot; having you do this kind of thing is undoubtedly better than just stating the stakes and letting you save someone," Yang Xiaoyou shook his head, but his next words were spoken so softly that only he could hear.
Given Yang Xiaoyou's understanding of Liu Lianyue's character, if she were to be the one executing this task, then even if the Common Unity Party wanted to carry out an assassination plan, they would have to consider Liu Lianyue's reaction. It would be much more practical to let her take on the rescue mission.
In Yang Xiaoyou's view, someone like Liu Lianyue could truly be considered a member of the Common Unity Party for her beliefs.
"Since that's the case, let's cooperate. We have a big trouble ahead of us." So much time had passed; Huang Jing's creature must have already recovered to its peak state, far from the weakened condition it had been in before.
As for Liu Lianyue and their safety...
Since they had chosen this path initially, they had to be prepared for what lay ahead!
