"Can this road really lead to the VIP area? And what trouble are you talking about?" Following Yang Xiaoyou, Liu Lianyue whispered as they exited the passage and made their way to the second floor from the hall. 0

At that moment, many of the Corpses had been drawn away by the gunfire from the passage, making the previously chaotic hall much quieter and significantly easier to navigate. 0

Setting aside personal biases, that oddly dressed fellow did indeed possess some skills. He seemed to have a good understanding of the Zombies' behavior, moving at a pace much faster than that of Liu Lianyue and her companions. 0

"Don't you look at the map? That was the entrance path at first. Now we're circling around to the airport runway from the second floor. Entering through the exit path means taking a more convoluted route. As for trouble, there's an Infected Entity here that's much stronger than me. That fellow is the problem," Yang Xiaoyou explained nonchalantly. 0

Letting them know in advance would help them prepare mentally. 0

"Much stronger than you? Can we handle it? What about using guns?" The driver, Baldy, swallowed hard. Liu Lianyue had always been the toughest person he knew, and now this fellow who had subdued their Group Leader was said to have a Zombie much stronger than him—it was simply unbelievable. 0

"Of course we should use guns, but you probably won't hit it. The reason for us going together is simply to divert its attention," Yang Xiaoyou replied bluntly. 0

To be honest, Yang Xiaoyou wasn't keen on facing a living entity at his current stage. If it were any other living being, he would likely be preparing to sneak away, leaving that Brit behind. 0

However, Huang Jing was an exception. His obsession included Qi Menglu, and since he was responsible for that group of students, he knew Huang Jing wouldn't actively seek him or Qi Menglu out. 0

Rather than constantly being on guard against his ambush later on, it was better to confront him now. After all, there’s no such thing as a thief who can evade detection forever; even with Feng Lin around, it wouldn’t work. 0

With his current Cognitive Acceleration combined with handgun shooting skills, if he played all his cards right, his chances of winning were decent. If someone could help share the pressure, the likelihood of success would increase even more. 0

"I wish Feng Lin were here," Yang Xiaoyou regretted at that moment. If he had known Huang Jing was inside back then, he shouldn't have let Feng Lin wait outside for him; they should have teamed up to take him down instead. 0

But now it was clearly too late to call her in. Having gone this deep in, it would take considerable time to circle back out and could potentially alert the soldiers on quarantine duty. 0

"Diverting attention? Is it really that terrifying?" Liu Lianyue pondered for a moment. 0

"Think of the worst-case scenario; you'll only underestimate it otherwise," Yang Xiaoyou said with a serious tone. 0

"Well then, I guess I have to trust your marksmanship. I believe my skills can buy us some time without too much trouble. Just make sure you aim well; I don’t want to die at the hands of my partner," Liu Lianyue hesitated but ultimately agreed. She then slid two tactical batons from her sleeves into her hands for protection. 0

With those in hand, she could indeed reduce some risk of getting injured. It seemed this fellow understood her intentions well enough. 0

At this moment, Liu Lianyue surprisingly chose to trust this stranger. Aside from some initial words, it was clear that her own awareness was quite high. 0

In a way, individuals like her, who possess strong convictions and attachments, can be quite terrifying. 0

"Although firearms can be used appropriately in this environment, it's best to avoid using them if possible. I'll find a way to attract their attention up ahead; you all take your time to deal with them one by one from the back." Yang Xiaoyou frowned as he glanced at the area where over twenty Corpses were gathered, then scanned the width of the walls on either side of the corridor. 0

The density of these twenty-plus Corpses was too high. If they were more spread out, he and Liu Lianyue could manage to handle them more steadily together. However, under the current circumstances, there was a significant risk. 0

"Understood, you take care of your Heart Point." Although Liu Lianyue was not fond of this fellow who had taken advantage of her, she temporarily set aside her personal grievances for the sake of the mission. 0

Taking a deep breath and relaxing his body, Yang Xiaoyou dashed out from their hiding spot like lightning, sprinting toward the group of Corpses while letting out a low growl that drew all their attention. 0

With all the Corpses focused on him, Yang Xiaoyou found himself only a few meters away from the nearest Corpse. The putrid stench hit him directly, and he could see its pale skin and grotesque wounds. 0

At that moment, he suddenly leaped sideways toward the wall, using one leg to push off quickly before changing direction toward the ceiling. He then used his arms to propel himself off the ceiling and charged toward the opposite wall. As he exerted his final strength, he successfully connected with both walls and soared over the dense Horde below, landing safely on the ground. 0

With such a large movement, the attention of those twenty-plus Corpses shifted along with Yang Xiaoyou's actions, ultimately turning their backs to Liu Lianyue and the others. 0

"Cool! He actually flew over!" One of the strong brothers exclaimed excitedly. 0

"Quiet! Now let's go from behind and take out those Zombies one by one. Be careful not to make any noise," Liu Lianyue reminded them. She understood how risky Yang Xiaoyou's actions were; one mistake could lead them straight into the Horde below. They absolutely could not waste this opportunity created by his daring move. 0

Having dealt with a few along the way herself and being a member of the Common Unity Party Radicals, the other three fellows were now able to contribute as well. Together with Liu Lianyue, they stealthily approached from behind the Corpses and began snapping their necks one after another. 0

After breaking one neck, they would quietly set it down without making a sound before moving on to the next target. Within just a few minutes, all twenty Corpses lay dead on the ground. 0

When the last Corpse finally sensed something amiss and began to howl in alarm, five figures with malicious intent surrounded it. 0

"Help! Please save me!" A Survivor cowered in a narrow space behind a fire door, looking at them desperately. Yang Xiaoyou sighed helplessly; it was clear that there was a noticeable scratch on the Survivor's arm. 0

Although the basic Vaccine had already been developed, anyone scratched beyond an artery had only a slim chance of survival if injected with it immediately. Judging by how dark his wound had become, it was evident that he had been injured for quite some time. Even if he received an injection right away, his chances of survival would be less than ten percent, not to mention the risk of him turning into a Corpse at any moment. 0

"I'm sorry; I can offer you a more dignified way to die," Yang Xiaoyou said softly. 0

In Liu Lianyue's eyes, there was a flash of compassion, but the daily propaganda on the prevention of the H Virus had already been quite thorough. Seeing the wound on the man's arm, they understood what fate awaited him. 0

"Please, I don't want to die. I can hold on, I really can! There must be a way, right? My child has just been born; he can't grow up without a father. Please!" The middle-aged man, whose face was pale from either fear or infection, continued to plead desperately. 0

"What if..." Liu Lianyue bit her lip and glanced at Yang Xiaoyou, but before she could finish her thought, she was interrupted. 0

"Have you considered that if he suddenly changes on the way, he could harm your subordinates? Have you thought about them? Besides, bringing all of you along with the Representative we rescue in this environment is already pushing my limits. If we take more people..." Yang Xiaoyou sighed softly. 0

Liu Lianyue's character did not make her a qualified leader; otherwise, given her background, she should not still be just a team leader in the Common Unity Party. 0

After hearing Yang Xiaoyou's words, Liu Lianyue closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Then she opened her eyes and drew a dagger from her boot, swiftly slashing it across the throat of the Survivor. 0

"I'm sorry; this is all I can do." Watching the man’s face remain in disbelief even after death, Liu Lianyue felt a wave of sadness wash over her. 0

Her actions surprised Yang Xiaoyou slightly; he had expected to be the one to take such action. Doing this kind of thing was thankless work since the man had not yet become a Corpse. 0

In Yang Xiaoyou's memory, those who helped others find their final release often became targets for resentment. When faced with problems, people always needed someone to vent their anger and fear upon. 0

At that moment, a series of gunshots echoed from ahead. Judging by the intensity of the gunfire, it was much closer to them than expected. 0
