"Indeed, this is a trained fellow, but the tactics are too traditional. They haven't considered how to respond when an individual's operational capability exceeds the ordinary level. Such fellows are easier to deal with." After dropping the empty magazine to the ground while gripping the gun, Yang Xiaoyou glanced at the nearby corpses, a hint of strangeness flashing through her heart. 0

At present, her overall ability to grasp the battlefield situation was still far from that of Fia. However, she possessed an advantage that others did not: a perfect ability to recreate scenarios. With sufficient intelligence support and continuous communication, she could completely simulate the changes in the battlefield within her mind. 0

Any command could be matched to the battlefield conditions at that moment; what she lacked were the means to handle the corresponding issues. 0

If the opponent were a group of miscellaneous soldiers with random and disorganized defenses, relying on their numbers might pose some difficulty. 0

However, this retired officer trained by the Swedish Military Academy had arranged their aspects in a classically textbook manner. 0

Every team's position had excellent visibility and mutual support for both offense and defense. Tradition and clichés were equivalent to classics; methods honed through practical combat and time could force attackers to pay a much greater price than their own. 0

Unfortunately, for Yang Xiaoyou, who was being targeted while also possessing a group of high-quality combat personnel, this was the simplest scenario. It felt as if she were directly applying a formula from her mind. By coordinating her immediate arrangements, she could eliminate key teams that had the best visibility and could connect with other areas without expending much effort. 0

"Yee Old Boss, the opponent has indeed started moving; they must have realized that several teams have lost contact. However, I can no longer advance due to their current level of alertness," Yang Xiaoyou casually rotated her handgun, which she had just reloaded, as she listened to Fein's message through her earpiece. 0

"Third Team, move five hundred meters southwest for concealment. In three minutes, proceed westward to cut into the area between A and B." For this operation, she had personally accompanied Fein to scout the surroundings of the location where they were preparing for a transaction. 0

At this moment, the terrain in her mind felt more real than any three-dimensional electronic map. The movements between teams formed above her like a chess game, inexplicably giving her a sense of control over everything. 0

"All members listen up; they are merely an insignificant organization called Wasp. Their absolute strength is far inferior to ours. Now, each three teams will form a combined squad and proceed towards the directions of the lost contact teams. Maintain close distances between each other to ensure mutual support at all times." Gustav looked at the map before him with a grim expression, gritting his teeth. 0

In three hours, General Yannick's convoy should arrive. At that time, embarrassing himself in front of him would undoubtedly raise doubts about his capabilities. He must root out those Crawlers during this period and crush them thoroughly. 0

This time, along with hired mercenaries, he brought over three hundred well-trained combat personnel. In Mercenary World, engaging in such large-scale confrontations outside of contracted group battles was quite rare. 0

With such overwhelming deterrence, even if the profit from this shipment was considerable, large companies would not dare to bite the bullet for such a small gain. Smaller companies could not afford it, and other warlords were restrained by Yannick. It should have been foolproof. 0

However, now that fifty members had lost contact, Gustav felt a pang of heartache. These were the foundation and backbone he needed to establish himself within the AB Alliance. 0

It was easy to hire Mercenaries if one had money, but cultivating loyalty among the veterans who followed him would take time. 0

"This is Third Squad. We have encountered the enemy and are currently engaged in combat. Their numbers should be about equal to ours. Due to both sides' geographical position, they cannot do much to us, but we are also unable to eliminate them," reported the first team member upon returning. Gustav was preparing to mobilize nearby squads to encircle that team. Even if it wasn't the enemy's main force, taking them down would significantly weaken their morale. 0

However, before he could give the order, an urgent call came through. 0

"Fourth Squad is under attack! Requesting support! The enemy's assault is fierce." Given the scale of the squad and Vigilance's intent to eliminate them quietly, it was nearly impossible without heavy weaponry. 0

Hearing that Fourth Squad was under heavy attack, Gustav felt a surge of relief. The fact that a squad was urgently requesting assistance indicated that this was undoubtedly the enemy's main attacking force. As long as reinforcements arrived in time to eliminate them, the enemy would struggle to recover. 0

He immediately ordered Third Squad to hold off their enemies as much as possible while all other squads moved toward Fourth Squad's location. 0

"This is First Squad. We encountered an ambush from enemy forces while en route to provide support. They occupy advantageous terrain; advancing forcefully will result in significant losses." 0

"This is Fifth Squad—" 0

However, as he listened to a series of reports coming in afterward, Gustav's expression grew increasingly grim. Almost all squads were simultaneously blocked, as if the enemy had complete control over his personnel's movements. Every arrangement seemed entirely targeted at him. 0

An insider? Impossible! These were commands he had issued personally and in real-time! It would be one thing for one or two teams to be obstructed, but now— 0

"Abandon rescue efforts for Fourth Squad! All units retreat and regroup! Concentrate our forces!" After gritting his teeth, Gustav reluctantly made the decision. 0

There was no doubt that Fourth Squad was beyond saving. In such circumstances, he had to minimize his losses as much as possible and concentrate his forces; otherwise, once the enemy dealt with Fourth Squad, they would continue picking off his remaining teams one by one. It seemed he had underestimated the enemy's capabilities after all. 0

"This is the Fifth Squad. We've encountered an enemy force on the way." 0

However, the next message plunged Gustav into despair. His face twisted in madness as he grabbed the radio and shouted, "Impossible! There can't be this many of them! There must be some outside force involved—could it be Maximi's people?" 0

As he raged, something seemed to dawn on him. He quickly snatched up a map and saw the location where the Third Squad was engaged with the enemy. His entire demeanor slumped as he leaned back, his hand trembling over the map. The team currently encircling them was likely the same one that had initially distracted the Third Squad. 0

He feared that at some point, the enemy team that had been able to confront the Third Squad head-on had diverted most of their personnel to flank other squads. 0

"Third Squad, immediately focus all your fire on the enemy in front of you! No! Don't attack! Third Squad, retreat at once! Fifth Squad, engage and hold off your enemies. Other squads, withdraw at all costs; we cannot let their main force consume us whole. We’d rather take a detour; we cannot choose the route where the initial missing squad was last seen." Gustav shouted in a near-hysterical tone. The Fifth Squad was the farthest away and comprised entirely of hired mercenaries; there was no chance for them to retreat now. 0

The only option left was to ensure the safety of his remaining personnel and hold out until General Yannick's forces arrived. 0

At this point, Gustav had completely abandoned any thoughts of defeating his opponents to salvage his dignity. His greatest wish was simply to preserve what little remained of his men and this shipment. 0

Yet, as more reports and requests for assistance came through the radio, his heart sank further. It was over—everything he had worked for, all his efforts up to this point, were slipping away! 0
