"How careless of me." Seeing the Ambusher exposed due to Yang Xiaoyou's attack, Weimar immediately leaped off the table and swiftly approached Aspects.
With her arm injured from the stab, the Impostor didn't have time to raise her gun before Weimar closed in. In one fluid motion, Weimar plunged her own knife into the Impostor's other arm, using a precise angle and cutting technique that severed the Tendon, leaving the entire arm limp.
The gun fell to the ground; it was clear she wasn't planning to kill anyone here—she wanted to take a prisoner.
Initially, all of Weimar's team had been on high Vigilance. However, when John arrived with his shocking news, they experienced a brief moment of confusion.
During that fleeting moment, the Revenant members quickly sensed an opportunity. This showed that while Weimar's group was cautious, they couldn't completely evade the Revenant's surveillance in a public setting.
However, the assassin organization that once gave peak Yang Xiaoyou headaches was far from simple in its current display of capability.
"Don't go out yet; there might be Snipers waiting for us outside. We can't be sure how many of their members are inside. It's better to be cautious than to rush out and risk being trapped," Fia calmly advised.
Although her combat skills were lacking, she managed to maintain enough composure and rationality amidst the chaos of an assassination attempt against her. This proved that Yang Xiaoyou's regard for her was not misplaced. Still, she understood that being trapped in a restaurant could pose significant risks if their adversaries executed a large-scale operation before the police arrived.
The Revenant's assassinations were typically interconnected; once initiated, the entire assassination chain would activate. They didn't care if their target fled; as long as they lingered in one spot, they could continuously set up a reasonable Strangulation environment. In such situations, panic would lead to self-destruction.
Both Yang Xiaoyou and Fia understood that giving their enemies more time would only increase their options. The restaurant was relatively small; if grenades or Tear Gas were thrown inside, it would likely become chaotic.
"What kind of gun is that?" Yang Xiaoyou asked John, pointing at his tennis bag.
"40A, modified," John replied without hesitation.
Hearing it was a lightweight Sniper rifle with excellent accuracy brought a slight sense of relief to Yang Xiaoyou beneath her helmet.
"The Sniper is a major problem, but I have ways to deal with it. We need to retreat now; we can't give them any more time." After learning about the equipment type, Yang Xiaoyou decisively moved forward. She grabbed John's modified tennis bag and skillfully began assembling its components while mentally visualizing everything she had observed outside the restaurant upon entering.
A projection more vivid than reality appeared in her mind, analyzing every angle towards the restaurant entrance and all obstacles at the doorway.
When he opened his eyes again, he decisively grabbed the assembled weapon and walked toward the door.
The few people responsible for protecting Fia were somewhat uncertain about the situation, only turning to look at their Boss.
"If he really has a way to deal with the Sniper, that would be the best outcome. Our choice to dine here was a last-minute decision, and the assassins can only set up so much. Although they can't afford to wait, I can't be sure what will happen if we give them more time." A strange smile flashed across Fia's face, as if she were completely unconcerned about the danger before her, or perhaps she was enjoying it.
This smile was strikingly similar to the one Liang Wuxuan had shown in Kapa City. Although their personalities were extremely different, there was a certain resemblance between them.
"If he can do it, then I believe he can." John expressed his thoughts without hesitation. The terrifying aura from the other party had left a significant shadow over him; even if Yang Xiaoyou could fly out, he would likely still believe it.
However, regarding the fact that the other party took his weapon as if it were their own, John felt a slight sense of defiance. He admitted that the other party's presence was unprecedented, but he couldn't agree that they could defeat him using his own expertise. Handing over his weapon was merely because it was of little use to him in this situation.
After all, in such a dire environment, even with his abilities, finding a suitable position to use a Sniper rifle and attack a target was nearly impossible.
At this moment, those who had been protecting Fia quickly overturned several tables, using the tabletops as shields while moving out alongside Yang Xiaoyou. They successfully subdued an Ambusher from Weimar but left that Ambusher behind, seemingly preparing for the police to handle it later.
Against a Sniper rifle, these tabletops offered almost no defense; however, they could block many lines of sight. With so many people present, the chances of hitting Fia were significantly reduced. Fia's subordinates were increasing her safety at the cost of their own risk of being hit.
From this action alone, one could see their high loyalty to their Boss.
"Please wait a moment," Yang Xiaoyou said calmly as he reached the door and observed the panicked crowd trying to escape outside.
In a typical escape scenario, following the crowd would be the best option; unfortunately, due to Revenant's professionalism and cold-blooded nature, this crowd wouldn't be very helpful. The human body couldn't withstand the penetrating power of the Sniper's bullets; they wouldn't care about collateral damage.
In fact, having so many people nearby would hinder their ability to evade.
Once the last person left through the door and it began to close, Yang Xiaoyou exploded into action. Calculating his strength and distance perfectly, he lunged forward quickly while concealing his lightweight sniper rifle beneath what initially seemed like an obstructive cloak.
As he burst out, the Sniper on the roof hesitated for a moment before firing; after all, while this didn't seem like a prime target, it also wasn't entirely inconsequential.
However, when a Sniper's Observer noticed the figure that had rolled out and lay on the ground, revealing a light sniper rifle from beneath its cloak, he quickly locked onto their position without hesitation and exclaimed, "Damn it! He spotted us!"
Just as he opened his mouth, the sound of a gunshot rang out. A bullet pierced through the air from the Sniper's scope and entered his forehead, sending fragments of skull and a spray of red and white blood splattering onto the Observer's face. The opponent had completed a series of actions—stabilizing, locking on, and firing—before the Observer could even react. It was simply unbelievable!
The Sniper had exceptional stealth capabilities before firing; to this day, he couldn't understand why his side hadn't shot first while the enemy had directly locked onto their position.
As the bullet exited the chamber, Yang Xiaoyou didn't even look back. He forcefully pushed off the ground with his right arm. The immense power of his Limit Release caused his arm muscles to twist and bulge, veins protruding in a grotesque display—a clear sign that he was nearing the peak of his Limit Release.
The tiles on the ground where he pushed off cracked under the force, and dust scattered outward in a shockwave.
The tremendous force propelled Yang Xiaoyou into the air, causing him to roll several times before landing several meters away.
Just as Yang Xiaoyou left his original position, a large-caliber bullet struck the ground where he had just been, tearing up tiles. If he had been even slightly slower, that bullet would have undoubtedly pierced through him.
As Yang Xiaoyou finally stopped rolling in mid-air and slid back a distance on the ground, it seemed as if he had assistance from an advanced targeting system. He remained undisturbed by his recent movements and crouched down slightly, aiming his gun at another direction.
The scene appeared to freeze at the moment he raised his weapon. Time slowed down as if even the wind had been halted. If anyone could see his expression beneath the helmet, they would notice a confident smile at the corner of his mouth.
Damn it, there was a power outage for a while, but thankfully it's back now. Summer is prone to Tragedy; if any issues arise in the future, I might not be able to respond in time. Just refer to this power outage as a guideline.
