"That's it for now. I'll find a time to introduce my brother to you. If he could be a bit more well-behaved like you, that would be great. See you." With a casual wave of his hand, Zhao Liang turned and walked towards the direction of the teacher's office, seemingly looking for someone.
Just before he left, he cast a fleeting glance at Liu Lianyue, but nothing more.
Yang Xiaoyou, who had been paying attention to Zhao Liang's gaze, couldn't help but smile wryly. It was no surprise that he was the one who managed to connect her two previous actions with just a hint of information.
Although he was currently in a lethargic state, he still recognized Liu Lianyue, who could be considered at the level of a Best Actor.
However, perhaps finding it troublesome and not wanting to complicate matters, he didn't show any reaction. After all, both he and Liu Lianyue had been secret stalkers in the past, and with his abilities, he could naturally tell that Liu Lianyue was not part of that group.
"Phew, that was close. Hey, do you know him? Who is he?" After Zhao Liang left, Liu Lianyue seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and turned to Yang Xiaoyou with a somewhat disgruntled expression.
Although she felt a bit resentful towards the fellow who had knocked her out, Liu Lianyue still didn't want to reveal her identity at school. After all, her public identity was that of a duke's daughter.
"He's probably a cop. The 'Killer' that fellow mentioned is him," Yang Xiaoyou replied nonchalantly.
"No way! You really know this fellow? Shooting civilians?" Upon hearing this, Liu Lianyue's expression darkened with anger.
"Hey? Shooting civilians? I don't want to think about the chaos in the Quarantine Zone back then. Although he might have gone overboard a bit, the people he killed were indeed those who had blood on their hands from civilians. If it weren't for him, it could have been me and my companions who died," Liu Lianyue recounted her experience from that time and gradually calmed down, letting out a resigned sigh.
She had also been in the Quarantine Zone and vividly remembered the situation back then. If it hadn't been for her side having guns as deterrents, she would have been in serious danger herself.
"By your logic, Chen Kai really isn't worth much. Letting such a fellow into the party—who knows what he's thinking? Sigh." Liu Lianyue seemed to want to say something more but stopped when she remembered that Ma Xiaoyun was already dead.
Regardless of any conflicts between them, as one of the earliest members of the Common Unity Party, she understood that there were redeeming qualities in others as well; it was just unfortunate.
Then she looked at Yang Xiaoyou with an odd expression. "I can't believe it was like that back then. You spun such a tale; I can't believe I actually believed you. You're too cunning."
"You should consider the situation back then. What if they got angry and beat me up? Looking at how sickly you were at the time, I doubt you could have helped me," Yang Xiaoyou rolled his eyes in response.
Heart was somewhat relieved that Zhao Liang's appearance had distracted Liu Lianyue, allowing her to exit the scene early.
Liu Lianyue, however, was unaware that Zhao Liang had already recognized her. Now, she should be considering how to avoid him as much as possible.
"Let go of me, you bunch of bastards!" As the last class of the morning ended, Yang Xiaoyou was suddenly hoisted up by Huang Wei and a few others from different classes, rushing outside while struggling and cursing.
The group carrying him remained silent, ignoring his protests as they brought him to an empty corridor. Once there, they looked at Yang Xiaoyou with expressions of betrayal, causing him to feel a wave of frustration.
"Oh? So it’s just a club issue? Impossible! You guys still don’t believe me?" After Yang Xiaoyou rambled on for a while, Huang Wei clearly wore an expression that suggested he believed it was true, though it was hard to tell if he genuinely believed it or was just comforting himself.
Seeing his annoying face made Yang Xiaoyou want to punch him hard. If it weren't for his connections, those guys from other classes wouldn’t have been able to block him so precisely.
"Haha, don’t mind us! We just missed you since you’ve been absent for so long after the holiday. This is how we can show our friendship!" The chubby guy who had gone with Yang Xiaoyou to the International Anime Expo couldn’t help but adopt a righteous demeanor upon seeing Yang Xiaoyou’s pained expression.
Hearing such insincere words made Yang Xiaoyou genuinely uncomfortable. While they might be waiting for him out of concern, the main reason was likely their curiosity about Feng Lin.
However, when it came to these clingy friends, Yang Xiaoyou certainly wouldn’t cause trouble for Feng Lin. Whenever they asked about her, he would just play dumb.
Just as Yang Xiaoyou’s friends were attempting to interrogate him harshly, a mocking and disdainful voice rang out. "Oh? Who could be causing a ruckus in a place like this? Turns out it’s you bunch tarnishing the school's reputation. Mind your actions; although you don’t care about your disgusting image, please don’t affect the rest of us."
The group holding Yang Xiaoyou and preparing to interrogate him turned around in annoyance upon hearing those words. However, they immediately stiffened upon seeing who had spoken.
Leading a few boys and girls over was Sun Jun, the one who had spoken. He wore the same uniform as Yuying Middle School students. His single eyelids gave him a slightly unusual look, but he was otherwise quite handsome; his overall demeanor completely overshadowed that minor flaw.
The others behind him were actually more attractive in terms of appearance but felt overshadowed by his leader-like aura.
"Sun Jun, we haven’t done anything wrong, right? Is it against the rules for a few friends to gather during break time?" Huang Wei said somewhat defiantly to Sun Jun.
"Hey, it's fine to play around a bit, but when it affects the mood of other students nearby, that's not good. Watching a bunch of guys mess around like this makes me feel sick," Sun Jun said with a mocking tone, as he glanced at a man wearing glasses behind him.
At that moment, Yang Xiaoyou, who had just been released by those gaming buddies, frowned as he looked at the group in front of him.
Compared to his own friends who were 'blackening' the school's reputation, the few people in front of him were undoubtedly the top students of the school. In fact, some of them had even participated in the School Trip to Kapa City.
However, the leader of that group had not attended. It wasn't due to a lack of ability; he had been held up by other matters. His father was a shipping tycoon, a legendary figure who built his fortune from scratch and was well-known across the country as the chairman of Chenghai Shipping Group.
Even without considering his father's influence, he had received elite education and was quite capable himself. He was also another Vice President of the Student Council.
Due to Zhao Chen's relatively low profile, his reputation was much higher than Zhao Chen's. However, he had been completely overshadowed by Chen Hao back in the day.
Perhaps because of this, he often found it hard to look at himself as Chen Hao's close friend. Since the start of school, he had either been playing dead in class or being dragged into the Activity Room by Liu Lianyue, so he hadn't interacted much with Zhao Chen and didn't think much of it.
Now that they had bumped into each other, it was only natural for him to adopt this attitude. Clearly, his words were aimed at the others but primarily intended to mock and undermine Yang Xiaoyou, seemingly wanting to vent his grievances against Chen Hao.
"Uh, by the way, has Chen Hao come back to school yet? His popularity hasn't decreased, has it?" Yang Xiaoyou casually glanced at him before turning to Huang Wei and the others with a nonchalant expression. If they wanted to pin their issues on him regarding Chen Hao, then let them come forward.
Upon hearing this, Sun Jun's face involuntarily flashed with embarrassment.
