"Did you see it?" After arriving at the Student Council President's Office, Liang Wuxuan casually asked, her voice soft and alluring.
Hearing this question, Yang Xiaoyou's heart skipped a beat, and she wore a confused expression. "See what?"
For some reason, whenever she was with Liang Wuxuan, she often felt a dull ache in her head. Moreover, while looking at the elegantly dressed Liang Wuxuan, she would experience strange illusions that left her somewhat troubled.
If it weren't for her own keen observations and the sudden question from the enigmatic President, Yang Xiaoyou might have thought that her earlier discoveries were mere figments of her imagination.
However, now that she had heard the words of this inscrutable President, Yang Xiaoyou couldn't help but silently admit that she was indeed at a loss. It was hard to comprehend. With this thought in mind, as she responded and feigned confusion, Yang Xiaoyou subtly turned to glance at Liang Wuxuan, wondering if her upper body was similarly styled.
"Oh?" Liang Wuxuan's left hand casually passed beneath her chin while her right hand lightly rested there. A glimmer of amusement flashed in her eyes.
This unintentional gesture caused her already ample curves to appear even more pronounced.
Yet at that moment, Yang Xiaoyou maintained a composed demeanor, seemingly lost in thought as if meditating like an old monk, revealing no emotions on her face.
"Well, it’s not a big deal if you saw it." With a casual wave of her hand, Liang Wuxuan turned and sat back in her chair behind the desk, naturally crossing her legs. The black stockings accentuated her graceful posture even more.
Knowing that the space beneath Liang Wuxuan's skirt was devoid of anything at all made Yang Xiaoyou break into a cold sweat. If by chance there was an accidental exposure, would it fall on her shoulders? However, seeing Liang Wuxuan's confident demeanor sparked a strange feeling within Yang Xiaoyou as well.
Moreover, Liang Wuxuan's words made Yang Xiaoyou feel an urge to understand; what did she mean by saying it wasn't a big deal? Did she not see Yang Xiaoyou as a boy? Helping to extricate herself from an awkward situation seemed to stem from the mindset that some toys were meant to be played with alone.
Ever since she subdued Liu Lianyue, who had been shielding her from the storm before her, the protective barrier had been lifted.
Once she realized that Liang Wuxuan could inadvertently exude such an aura, Yang Xiaoyou began to understand why she often felt suppressed in front of this fellow. She wondered if the frequent illusions and headaches were somehow related to that aura—it was all quite peculiar.
"President, why did you call me here? Um, I haven't had lunch yet," Yang Xiaoyou said tentatively as she noticed Liang Wuxuan looking at her with a strange and somewhat wicked gaze without speaking.
"I haven't eaten either; let's go together later. Oh, by the way, you usually eat with classmate Liu Lianyue, right?" Liang Wuxuan's voice carried a soft, alluring tone that seemed to seep into one's bones. However, this calm manner also conveyed an undeniable authority.
It was as if her presence made it a given, natural and not at all off-putting.
After a brief pause, before Yang Xiaoyou could speak, she continued, "Last time during the special holiday, the time was already quite long. After that, you took another leave. The impact of this situation isn't very good. You know that because of this holiday, the workload this semester has increased significantly."
Hearing such words made Yang Xiaoyou feel somewhat relieved. He didn't mind discussing serious matters with her; however, based on her past behavior, he couldn't fully relax, knowing she might suddenly change the subject.
Yang Xiaoyou then offered a half-truth explanation: his parents were late due to work commitments, and his proactive request for leave turned into a situation where he had no travel expenses and had to wait for them.
"Okay, that's fine. Such matters are indeed beyond our control." After crossing her fingers and nodding, Liang Wuxuan seemed to agree with his reasoning.
Yang Xiaoyou was somewhat surprised that she handled the situation so easily. After hearing that everything was fine, he was momentarily taken aback as he had been preparing for her to confront him.
"What? Do you want to join me for a meal? Since we're in the same club, I don't mind," Liang Wuxuan said with a mischievous smile as she noticed Yang Xiaoyou's dazed expression.
"Cough cough, not at all. It would be an honor to dine with the President; however, I have prior arrangements with the Minister. Since everything is fine now, I'll take my leave," Yang Xiaoyou quickly said a few polite words before hastily exiting the President's office.
This somewhat peculiar President truly left people feeling perplexed and unable to grasp her intentions. Just when one thought there was nothing going on, she would suddenly bring up issues; conversely, when one anticipated trouble, she would unexpectedly let them go. It was indeed challenging to deal with her.
Once Yang Xiaoyou left the office, Liang Wuxuan wore a strange smile on her face. "Another blank period. Hehe, what is he hiding? I didn't expect this fellow I accidentally bumped into to have such a mysterious side."
After murmuring to herself for a while, Liang Wuxuan leaned back in her chair and began to ponder. The seemingly unremarkable and introverted fellow had turned out to be quite surprising during their recent interactions.
She had indeed gathered quite a few trivial pieces of information; however, those were intentionally thrown out by him to divert attention from a secret he cared about deeply.
As for evidence of that secret? There was none needed; if she believed it existed, then it did. The more perfectly something is concealed, the greater the flaw it presents.
What exactly was hidden remained unclear to Liang Wuxuan, yet she felt an underlying sense of significant risk.
However, it was precisely this unknown risk that made things interesting.
"She shouldn't be targeting me or anything; it must just be for fun. I should have no problem covering up some of the usual daily issues," Yang Xiaoyou thought as he stepped out of the Student Council President's Office. After replaying past interactions in his mind, he seemed to let out a sigh of relief.
With the speed of his brain's calculations, the cover-ups he usually performed could be deemed perfect. This was his advantage; most of the time, it was just an act, and he had managed to maintain this identity without revealing any flaws.
The most he could get entangled with were the members of the Common Unity Party and the peripheral members of Hivemind Security Company—two points that were hardly concerning.
As he pondered these issues, Yang Xiaoyou arrived at the Activity Room, ready to replenish his nutrients for the day.
However, as soon as he walked into the Activity Room, he saw Liu Lianyue happily devouring what should have been his lunch. Watching his carefully prepared meal disappear bite by bite into her stomach drove Yang Xiaoyou nearly to madness.
"Hey? You're here! Sorry, I forgot to bring my own today. I'll just borrow yours for now and return it tomorrow," Liu Lianyue said nonchalantly while eating Yang Xiaoyou's food, showing no hint of guilt.
Hearing her words, Yang Xiaoyou felt a sense of petrification wash over him. Due to several delays earlier, there probably wouldn't be much left in the cafeteria now. How was he supposed to survive this afternoon?
