"Damn it!" The Brunette White Man, pinned to the ground by the Licker, felt his heart sink.
However, being able to engage in close combat with Ming Mei Shuang Ying, he had a pure fighting ability that even surpassed the current Yang Xiaoyou, aside from gunplay.
After being tackled by the Licker, he wrapped his legs tightly around its waist, effectively immobilizing its lower body and significantly reducing its attacking power.
With his front pressed against it, the creature's massive claws were unable to launch effective attacks; any feeble swipes were easily dealt with.
As he dodged a tongue strike by tilting his head, he plunged his dagger into the head of the Horrifying Figure from below its chin and twisted it before throwing the body aside.
However, his actions attracted another Licker from the three that were surrounding the now partially transformed Black man.
Even though he had rolled away to evade, the initial Consumption had left deep claw marks on his back, tearing through his bulletproof vest and exposing the wounds beneath.
The fiery pain sent chills through his heart as he looked up to see the hollow muzzle of a gun and cold eyes staring back at him.
"Bang!"
The spiraling bullet pierced through his skull, exploding his cranium and splattering brain matter everywhere.
The magazine was already replaced. Without a moment's pause after firing one shot, Yang Xiaoyou ruthlessly began shooting at the remaining inhuman creatures in front of him.
The Licker had no vision and initially failed to detect Yang Xiaoyou's position. But now, as it suddenly attacked, one of them was shot in the heart before it could react.
As the remaining two lunged at Yang Xiaoyou, one of them was caught by the rear leg by the nearly fully transformed Black man who was now almost delirious.
With a force beyond what it could withstand, he swung it down towards the ground with a thunderous crash.
The other Licker leaped forward just as Yang Xiaoyou slid two steps ahead, leaning back until he was nearly flat against the ground, allowing the Licker to soar over him.
In an instant, as he penetrated from above, Yang Xiaoyou entered the Cognitive Acceleration mode. What was originally a brief moment of crossing seemed to slow down in his eyes.
Leaning back, he raised his hand and continuously fired at the crimson figure passing through the air. When it had lost all its momentum and fell heavily to the ground behind Yang Xiaoyou, it could only twitch occasionally, completely devoid of vitality.
At that moment, the body that had swollen up significantly had transformed into the form of a Black man, who smashed his fist down and exploded the head of the Licker. He then grabbed its hind legs like a weapon, looking at Yang Xiaoyou with a brutal expression.
Seeing the Suppressor completely out of control and in a state of confusion, Yang Xiaoyou shook his head. Even with combat power comparable to that of a monster, the Suppressor would never surpass it.
As the opponent charged towards him with heavy footsteps that seemed to shake the ground, Yang Xiaoyou once again entered Cognitive Acceleration mode.
He sidestepped and brushed past the opponent while casually sticking a rubber-like object onto it. Then he rolled away towards the distance to evade.
Boom!
The violent airflow, carrying shattered body parts, crashed against the surrounding walls with loud bangs.
Before the Suppressor could react, its entire body exploded. Blood and flesh flew everywhere, leaving only its mangled legs swaying for a moment before collapsing.
In terms of sheer power, this Suppressor was much stronger than the half-damaged Sun Jun from before due to its superior physical attributes. Unfortunately, the chaotic state of mind after complete transformation made it much easier to deal with than a true monster.
Humans do not dominate the world solely based on their own strength; what makes monsters terrifying is not just their power but also their ability to think at or above human levels and their combat skills developed during their lives that can fully unleash that terrifying strength.
A Suppressor that has been liberated to only its primal instincts is merely a more advanced version of a Licker, with slightly lower production levels.
After resolving the immediate trouble, Yang Xiaoyou bent down to take the watch off the lifeless White man. He glanced at the wound on his arm where he had been scratched earlier and continued deeper into the interior.
This was one of the few bases he remembered well. Since he was already here, he might as well sweep through thoroughly. Moreover, just in case, it would be wise to find a vial of Vaccine to inject after being scratched by that Suppressor.
The wailing sirens of police cars echoed through the streets of Tokyo. Outside the Sunshine Corporation's branch in Japan, police cars had completely sealed off the area.
A group of police officers holding riot shields had surrounded the entrance, while barriers were set up outside to prevent ordinary citizens from approaching.
At that moment, a square-faced man with a beard, dressed in a suit, stood in front of a police car and slammed his fist down hard on the hood. "If there's only one person involved, then why can't I send someone inside?"
His booming voice nearly spat saliva onto the face of a young man who appeared quite refined standing nearby.
"This is an order issued personally by the Prime Minister. We must handle this situation with utmost caution; otherwise, if things go wrong, all of Tokyo—and even all of Japan—could fall into chaos. The Self-Defense Forces have already begun mobilizing," the refined young man said, adjusting his glasses and looking somewhat pale.
Upon hearing this response, even the officer who had been oblivious to the gravity of the situation understood that this was serious; his expression changed. "This used to be the headquarters of Famasia Puxiang Company. Could there be something unspeakable inside? How could they know about this?! Why aren’t they stopping it? Are they insane?"
"What you need to do now is follow orders and refrain from asking unnecessary questions."
Just as the young man was about to say something further, the police car's loudspeaker suddenly emitted a piercing noise, as if it were being interfered with by some powerful force, interrupting their conversation.
Meanwhile, in a distant rented house, an apparatus in front of Nobunaga Hideyoshi began to beep repeatedly.
"Signal has been sent. Do not worry about any damage or impact caused. Trust in your own abilities and Mr. Mo's. Begin the operation," Nobunaga Hideyoshi said as he opened his eyes, having previously been resting with his arms crossed.
Beside him, Mo Wenfu revealed a slight smile before picking up the walkie-talkie to take command.
On the now sparsely populated main road, a taxi drifted in from an intersection and sped toward the police barricade ahead.
"Stop! No passage ahead!" The loudspeaker blared out warnings from the police, while those officers using their cars as cover drew their weapons and aimed at the approaching vehicle.
If the taxi did not slow down within fifty meters—the optimal shooting range—they would have no choice but to fire, even if it turned out to be an ordinary civilian.
However, at that moment, a figure emerged from the roof of the taxi, standing up and holding something aloft as they looked outward.
When the officers saw what was being brandished from inside the taxi, they couldn't help but curse simultaneously.
"Shit! It's an RPG!"
"Scatter!"
"Rocket Launcher! Dodge!"
"Requesting support!"
A Malay man, carrying a Rocket Launcher, whistled before pulling the trigger. The Rocket Launcher, trailing smoke, blasted directly at the interception point. With excellent control over the explosion's timing, it obliterated all obstacles in its path, allowing the taxi to speed through without hindrance.
The police officers who had scattered earlier now had a few rushing forward, firing symbolic shots at the retreating vehicle.
Looking at the weapon in their hands and then at the destroyed police car, a sense of sorrow flashed through these officers' hearts. What kind of disaster had they brought upon themselves?
