"Ow, ow, ow!" Yang Xiaoyou cried out, clutching his head as Feng Lin relentlessly struck him with a wooden sword. His face contorted in pain. 0

"If you keep hitting me, I'll get stupid!" 0

"It's fine, I'll take care of you." Despite Yang Xiaoyou's show of weakness, Feng Lin showed no signs of stopping. In fact, she seemed to hit harder, as if she wanted to knock some sense into him and keep him close. 0

As for her idea of taking care of him, it was probably akin to how she cared for her cat. 0

"Alright, Lin, if you keep this up, he won't dare to come back next time," Feng Ji chuckled, stepping in to stop Feng Lin's antics. 0

Hearing his grandfather's words, Feng Lin finally ceased her assault and narrowed her eyes at Yang Xiaoyou. 0

"How could that be? Old man Ji really loves to joke," Yang Xiaoyou replied with a forced smile, relieved that the attacks had stopped. 0

"Haha, with the looks you two have, it's a destined match from your past life. Come on, young people, do your best! Feng Lin is definitely above you; this lifetime is all yours," Yuan Fangzi laughed while stroking his white beard. 0

Suddenly hearing the old man's words made Yang Xiaoyou nearly spit blood in surprise. He looked at the elder with a strange and bewildered expression. 0

Could it be that his fortune-telling was really that accurate? 0

If this was indeed a reference to the past life he remembered... 0

Thinking back to when Feng Lin had relentlessly pushed him to sign the marriage registration form, a chill ran down Yang Xiaoyou's spine. 0

Meanwhile, Feng Ji wore an odd expression. He didn't mind the first part of what Yuan Fangzi said, but he couldn't help but chuckle at the notion that Feng Lin was superior to Yang Xiaoyou. 0

The first time he had seen this young man's strength compared to now had left quite an impression on him. If he continued training, despite the limits of the human body surpassing Feng Lin's abilities, he might not necessarily be weaker than her current self. 0

However, he did not dwell on this matter. 0

"Considering the time, I must be on my way. This is the first and probably the last time I will meet Yang the Recluse, Lin Girl. You should also make an effort to learn some social common sense," Yuan Fangzi said, noticing Yang Xiaoyou's somewhat dazed expression. He waved his hand and stepped toward the shrine's entrance, appearing quite carefree. 0

Beside him, Feng Ji followed along, sending him off. "Feel free, Yang." 0

"Thank you once again for your gift, senior. I sincerely hope you can overcome this difficult time," Yang Xiaoyou said earnestly to the elder. However, he understood that the elder was already aware of his remaining lifespan, and it would be genuinely difficult to change anything. 0

As Yuan Fangzi reached the shrine's entrance and began descending the steps, he seemed to be talking to himself. "Although the situation appears tense now, at least there won't be any major battle situations in the next twenty years. The atmosphere is too heavy; it does not align with the greater trend. Take care of yourself." 0

His final words seemed like a monologue, but Yang Xiaoyou clearly understood he was speaking to him. The recent school Hijacking Incident, coupled with this Tokyo Virus Incident, had resulted in numerous deaths at his hands. Moreover, with that increasingly strange inner persona, it was likely that the elder had seen something and thus offered his last words. 0

Just as Yang Xiaoyou began to ponder Yuan Fangzi's words, Feng Lin pulled out her wooden sword and started tapping it against Yang Xiaoyou's head, seemingly intrigued by his perceived dullness. 0

"After today, I guess we won't meet again until after the New Year. That Girl Menglu is about due as well." Lying in the courtyard of Monsoon Shrine, looking at the clear sky and the bare branches before him, Yang Xiaoyou picked up a rice ball from a nearby box and took a bite. 0

On the other side, Feng Lin mirrored his position, her head tilted to form a straight line. The red-and-white Miko Outfit she wore complemented her appearance in an indescribable way. 0

"Hmm," she responded lightly to Yang Xiaoyou's words, while her pet Black Cat jumped onto her lap and yawned. 0

For a moment, both fell into silence as the cold wind blew by, and the last two remaining leaves on the treetops were swept away into the distance. 0

"Ah! I've slept so long!" Blinking awake, Yang Xiaoyou saw twinkling stars above him. Given his constitution, he was not greatly affected by this atmosphere. 0

However, just as he was about to move, he felt a slight heaviness on his body. Looking down, he saw that Feng Lin had fallen asleep with her arms draped over him. 0

Her serene and beautiful face, combined with the faint fragrance that wafted into his nose, caused Yang Xiaoyou to momentarily lose his train of thought. A fleeting memory of what he had done while Charming Shadow was unconscious flashed through his mind, but he quickly pushed it away. 0

"Ah, some things can make a person act strangely after they've gone too far," he chuckled self-deprecatingly. He then rose up and gently lifted Feng Lin in his Heartwing embrace. He thought about Charming Shadow's dual identity and the actions she had taken towards him; once Feng Lin woke up, he couldn't afford to do anything strange. 0

After quietly carrying her to the room and covering her with a blanket, he brushed his fingers lightly across her cheek and whispered, "Sweet dreams." 0

He then closed the door behind him and left the shrine. However, after Yang Xiaoyou departed, Feng Lin, still in her dreams, suddenly opened her eyes. A few seconds later, she closed them again, a faint smile appearing at the corners of her mouth. 0

"Brat, have you been itching for a beating since you haven't been hit in so long? Not even answering your phone." Once home, Yang Xiaoyou's already battered head received another knock from his mother. 0

"Hey, you guys never care," Yang Xiaoyou muttered in response. 0

But Qin Meng overheard him and added, "Oh really? Getting a bit cocky now? Anyway, Ahao is coming over soon. You young ones should go pick him up. It seems like he's been through quite a lot lately; look at how hard he's working while you're just glued to your games." After a bit more lecturing, Qin Meng left but not before giving Yang Xiaoyou's cheek a playful tug. 0

Rubbing the spot where she had pulled him, Yang Xiaoyou couldn't help but show a hint of helplessness on his face after hearing his mother's words. 0

A large passenger plane descended with a roar as it landed at the airport. 0

At the arrival gate, Yang Xiaoyou along with Qi Menglu and Chen Wuyou attracted quite a bit of attention. The presence of two exceptionally beautiful women drew many gazes. 0

The cold air made Qi Menglu, who was already bundled up in a scarf and looked somewhat adorable, stomp her feet repeatedly to keep warm. Her gloved hands flapped around as she exhaled visible puffs of breath. However, her attention seemed focused on the conversation between Yang Xiaoyou and Chen Wuyou as her ears perked up attentively. 0

"Big Sister, did your Boss really leave just like that?" After learning from Chen Wuyou that Dream Butterfly had gone to a company in Singapore, Yang Xiaoyou was somewhat surprised. He had originally planned to keep that 'kindred spirit' around for a while longer, hoping to find an opportunity to bring them over to his side. 0

However, the current plan seemed to have some discrepancies. 0

As for Dream Butterfly, Yang Xiaoyou wasn't quite sure how to feel. There was some kind of resonance or something else he couldn't quite grasp; all he knew was that the other person had ventured further along the spiritual path than he had. That was the direction he also aimed to advance toward in the future. 0

In fact, in terms of cultivation level alone, Dream Butterfly might have surpassed Yuan Fangzi, that Taoist master, to some extent. 0

After all, while someone as powerful as Yuan Fangzi could suppress ordinary people with sheer force, it was unlikely they could launch a substantial attack against... that kind of entity. 0

If one were to borrow from Taoist classifications of realms, being able to express one's emotions through Qi and influence others would be at the level of Refining Essence into Qi. Most seasoned Mercenaries had reached this stage, where their killing intent and anger could affect others. 0

If one could condense their Qi into a force, they would reach the more elusive realm of Refining Qi into Spirit. Throughout history, only those who had mastered their own domains could achieve such a level. 0

Yang Xiaoyou considered himself a novice at this stage, while Feng Ji and Yuan Fangzi had reached the pinnacle of this realm. 0

But Dream Butterfly... 0

If one were to strictly categorize using Taoist levels, perhaps only the realm of Returning Spirit to Void could describe them—where the spirit leaves the body and uses force as an attack. 0

It was just that the protagonist had borrowed from Taoist classifications for his own understanding and wouldn't involve anything else. 0
