Her words, stripped of pretense, sounded just like a joke; no one could detect any oddity in her tone.
"Come on, you really made me suffer back then. Don't bring up my sad past," Yang Xiaoyou retorted with a hint of annoyance.
When he first met her at school, he had been completely deceived by her business-like demeanor. The dream of having a soft girl had shattered and left him with lasting shadows.
Hearing such remarks now made him think she was simply mocking him. Although being pulled close by her shoulder was somewhat stimulating due to the occasional contact with her soft skin, he didn’t let his thoughts wander in that direction.
