Due to the preparation bell, Yang Xiaoyou managed to survive this break. Just as he sighed in relief from the departure of the Demoness, Huang Wei approached him with a smirk on his face.
With a lewd expression, Huang Wei said to Yang Xiaoyou, "Virgin, you—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Yang Xiaoyou landed a precise punch to his abdomen, causing him to double over and emit a disgusting wheezing sound.
Although he didn’t know what Huang Wei wanted, it was definitely nothing good. The way he addressed him sent shivers down Yang Xiaoyou's spine.
"I'm in a bad mood today, so don't bother me," Yang Xiaoyou gritted through his teeth after hitting Huang Wei. This group of fellows really left him speechless.
Initially, he had felt a bit melancholy, wondering if they would distance themselves from him after he displayed such toughness in front of them. Now, he thought it might be better if they did keep their distance.
Huang Wei, clutching his stomach and looking at Yang Xiaoyou’s furious expression, was taken aback. He knew how terrifying Yang Xiaoyou could be when he lost his temper.
However, he quickly recovered and said, "Hey? 'I'm in a bad mood today, so don't bother me' sounds pretty cool. Hmm, I should use that."
Then Huang Wei shrank back into his seat and began to mutter something to himself.
"Heh heh, Xiao You, are you interested in specializing in research and development?" In the library, the lab instructor Zhu Qibiao stood beside Yang Xiaoyou, who was organizing the shelves with a cheerful smile.
After the competition ended, Yang Xiaoyou had hardly visited the lab this semester; it was completely unlike his previous study habits.
Zhu Qibiao initially thought that this student was still shaken from the Tokyo Incident and needed time to adjust.
However, as the semester progressed and adjustments were nearing completion, this student whom he valued greatly showed no signs of improvement.
When Zhu Qibiao took the initiative to talk to him, Yang Xiaoyou responded with indifference: "Oh, didn't the competition just end? Let's talk about it next time there’s a competition; I’ve been busy lately."
Such words were quite disheartening for the professor.
Out of concern for wasting a promising talent, Zhu Qibiao finally decided to swallow his pride and went directly to the library where Yang Xiaoyou volunteered.
"I usually put in effort studying; I’ve borrowed equipment from the lab a few times," Yang Xiaoyou said nonchalantly while dusting off some shelves with a feather duster.
Spending more time immersed in the laboratory was not an option, especially when it came to analyzing things in front of them. The speed at which he worked would likely shock them.
"I know your self-learning ability is strong, but it's still better to have a mentor to guide you. There’s too much content in the books; if you can’t find the key points, it will waste a lot of time." Zhu Qibiao spoke passionately about the benefits of having someone to lead and guide, showing no signs of impatience.
However, upon hearing the rambling of the overly friendly professor nearby, Yang Xiaoyou displayed a deadpan expression.
Key points? If all the relevant content is consumed, then the key points would naturally be absorbed as well.
In the end, Yang Xiaoyou managed to silence the professor's chatter by referencing a few authoritative academic forums.
"By the way, there’s a new forum that has emerged recently, which is quite decent. The content is a bit scattered, but it relates to our field of electronic information. Occasionally, some authorities in electronics and structural mechanics make appearances there. This forum seems to be constructed by one of those authoritative figures, and I heard there’s even a module on traditional Chinese medicine included. I wonder if it has any connection to our country.
It’s called the Recollection of Pan-Human Mecha Discussion and Research Forum. However, aside from occasional appearances by some big names, since the entry barrier isn’t high, there are many half-baked individuals inside. A lot of them are teenagers still in their fantasy phase; you just have to sift through to find something useful." As Zhu Qibiao turned to leave, he suddenly remembered something and introduced a new forum he had discovered to Yang Xiaoyou.
Hearing this, Yang Xiaoyou, who was boredly dusting off with a feather duster, twitched his mouth slightly. This sounded like the forum he had built himself.
Those so-called teenagers in their fantasy phase...
Coughing lightly, it had originally been just a watering hole of a forum. The reason why a few seemingly impressive figures occasionally popped up was entirely because he had met some like-minded fellows while wandering around other authoritative forums. Both sides were unaware of each other's identities; they probably thought he was just some old scholar.
As for the chaotic nature of the forum, Yang Xiaoyou didn’t bother trying to control anything because his thought process allowed him to easily filter out posts that were devoid of value. Some ideas sparked by others were not without merit; inspiration often struck in an instant.
This place was built entirely for his own thought process.
In contrast, over at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Module, since young people generally didn’t care for it, most discussions were held by more knowledgeable fellows. Initially, due to President Nixon's battle with cancer that extended into his eighties, this somewhat mysterious traditional medicine gained worldwide attention. Not every expert in traditional Chinese medicine is Chinese.
Due to differing focuses, Yang Xiaoyou could only take on a guiding role there; most of the time he was just listening and learning rather than enticing older fellows over like he did elsewhere.
Using his role as a library volunteer as an excuse, Yang Xiaoyou managed to shake off those two nuisances from the activity room and slipped out of school without raising any suspicion.
Today was the day for exchanging materials with Luo Guohui.
"There are so many tails around," Yang Xiaoyou thought as he noticed an obvious increase in their numbers along the way. "However, if they don’t play fair and try to steal information through secretive means this time, it probably won’t work."
With diplomatic relations now normalized, the Chinese Empire could not make a direct decision to seize such 'insignificant' information. After all, the loss of reputation was simply not worth it. If this were data on the Anti-Lock System, it might be a different story; however, something of that caliber would never be brought to the Chinese Empire for trade.
"Yang the Younger, you’ve arrived," said Luo Guohui with a hint of a smile as he spotted Yang Xiaoyou at the entrance of an upscale club.
"Haha, Brother Luo, how can I let you wait for me? Let’s go inside; I’ve brought the items," replied Yang Xiaoyou, stepping out of the taxi with a broad grin.
"Yes, everything seems in order. But to be able to identify this at such a young age, this gentleman has an unlimited future ahead," remarked a slightly balding White-Haired Elder, who had verified some of the materials provided by Yang Xiaoyou with a look of admiration.
"Not at all. It’s just that our manager trusts your country’s reputation. I’m merely pretending to understand," Yang Xiaoyou said with an innocent expression after quickly scanning and checking the items several times. Everything was indeed fine.
Then, as if recalling something, he stuffed another USB drive into his pocket and added, "However, I must apologize. You know our company has contracts in the Chinese Empire. To maintain good relations, we’ve already sold a copy of that data here. I’m just a soldier; I can’t get involved in this matter."
"Hehe, no worries. In fact, we sold them a copy as well, probably after you did. They urgently needed this part and might have offered a higher price than your most critical copy," the balding White-Haired Elder said with a cheerful demeanor as he took the materials brought by Yang Xiaoyou.
Although he appeared to be a friendly neighborly uncle, hearing such words made Yang Xiaoyou wear an expression akin to constipation.
He hadn’t expected them to be so open-minded and cunning. This also reflected that the current United States was preparing to mend its relationship with the Chinese Empire, quietly waiting for their 'ally' to collapse and disintegrate.
