"Damn it! What kind of virus is this? My immunity to the air should be nearly maxed out!" As Yang Xiaoyou felt the invasion of foreign substances intensifying the battle with his immune system, his body temperature began to rise uncontrollably, and dizziness set in. He bit down on his tongue to force himself to stay alert.
When he fought against that creature they called the Insect Emperor, he had maintained control and rhythm throughout the encounter, and the costs were all part of his plan.
But now, the very poison that should have posed the greatest threat to him had unexpectedly brought about even greater trouble.
Clearly, that strange monk who had just 'bestowed' a pet upon Afeifa also wanted to plant one of those things inside him.
That slippery, disgusting creature, resembling both an octopus and a spider, was not something Yang Xiaoyou could consume easily—even if its protein content was six times that of beef. Unless he could bite it dead in one go, letting it burrow into his body was not a wise choice.
It was evident that the toxic gas being released was intended to provide a suitable breeding ground for this parasite.
Although it was likely that both of these creatures were related to the H Virus, the mutation characteristics of the virus had deviated significantly from his original resistance capabilities.
In his prime, he could have dealt with it using his crushing immune system, but now he was still injured and had been exerting himself in that place for so long; it was truly becoming quite troublesome.
He recalled several instances when he had been infected after exhausting himself or getting injured, which were similar to his current situation. He had managed to pull through back then, but this time he was not only bound by the virus within him but also faced two enemies whose backgrounds he couldn't discern.
Perhaps in terms of combat strength, they couldn't compare to the well-established Mossad Captain, but their trump cards and bizarre methods were still largely unknown to him.
As unique thoughts raced through his mind at lightning speed, Yang Xiaoyou felt the dizziness intensifying. His vision began to darken.
"Haha! No matter how strong he is, what's the use? He's just like the previous Insect Emperor. We humans stand at the pinnacle because we know how to make good use of tools!" The muscular man with a nose ring glanced disdainfully at Afifah, who occasionally twitched as if about to wake up. Then he turned his scornful gaze toward Yang Xiaoyou, who had fallen unconscious and stood motionless with closed eyes.
"Go bring him over here. I can feel my treasure inside me getting impatient. This time, let me directly transplant my twin into him! I'll reward you with this inferior parasite right here," Bishop said as greed flickered in Crimson's eyes upon seeing their unconscious prey.
Hearing Bishop's reward made Nose Ring Man's face light up with excitement. He jumped down from the observation platform several meters high and walked toward the arena.
"Tsk tsk, such delicate skin. If it weren't for that beauty over there, I wouldn't mind taking a stroll on dry land," he said as he approached Yang Xiaoyou and looked him over with a grin before reaching out to slap his unconscious cheek.
Just as he prepared to hoist his prey onto his shoulder...
*Crack!*
With a sudden grip, the hand that resembled an iron claw seized his outstretched wrist.
Seeing that the prey, who should have been unconscious, was actually fighting back, the Nose Ring Man was both shocked and furious. No matter how much he struggled, the other party's hand remained immovable.
Just as he was filled with rage and prepared to deliver a kick to his opponent's vital point, the tightly shut eyes suddenly opened wide.
The blood-red pupils, resembling rubies, appeared eerie, devoid of any human emotion, cold and indifferent like a beast.
"Damn it!" The Nose Ring Man quickly pressed a switch in his hand. The sound of iron cages being raised echoed through the surrounding passage.
But before he could make a second reaction, the hand gripping his wrist tightened like a compressor.
The hard bones of the human body felt as soft as cotton under that grip, and the intense pain forced a shrill scream from the Nose Ring Man's lips.
However, along with his scream, it seemed to activate some nerve in Yang Xiaoyou, who had completely lost any trace of humanity. Following that, she let out a piercing shriek.
The sharp, ear-piercing sound radiated outward in visible waves from her mouth.
The Nose Ring Man, struck by this sound wave, appeared to suffer an immense blow. His entire body began to convulse; foam formed at his mouth, and his eyes bulged as if they might pop out.
Blood began to flow from his eyes, nose, and ears. He collapsed to the ground in spasms, pupils dilated, clearly on the brink of death.
At that moment, figures emerged from the surrounding passage—mad farmers wielding various tools. Yet when they looked at Yang Xiaoyou, there was a flicker of fear in their eyes.
As Yang Xiaoyou ceased her shrieking and gazed at the limp body she held in her grasp, she seemed puzzled by what it was. After inspecting it for a moment and sniffing it lightly, she casually tossed it aside.
But that seemingly casual toss sent the body flying like an artillery shell! It slammed against the wall several meters high with a heavy thud!
Crimson blood and the disordered innards splattered against the wall, creating a hauntingly beautiful pattern.
After tossing aside the useless trash in his hand like a torn cloth, Yang Xiaoyou seemed to close his eyes again, sniffing the air with his nose. Then he opened his eyes, fixing his gaze on the Bishop.
A look akin to that of a beast spotting its prey appeared in his eyes.
"Oh, damn it." Just the eerie gaze of those blood-red pupils sent shivers through the parasitic entity within him. The Bishop could hardly believe what he was witnessing as he muttered to himself.
At that moment, being locked onto by those eyes, he felt a petrifying tremor coursing through his body, rendering him unable to move.
Upon spotting his target, Yang Xiaoyou's face broke into a seemingly innocent smile.
Boom!
As he laughed, a sound like an explosion echoed in the minds of all the farmers present and the Bishop. The scene of the Gladiatorial Arena appeared to twist before their eyes, while that eerie voice seemed to burn away like flames, vanishing into thin air.
When it reappeared, Yang Xiaoyou was already standing before the stiffened Bishop on the observation platform, an arm that emerged like fire piercing into his chest.
The Bishop opened his mouth, feeling the distortion within him and the fear emanating from the parasitic entity as if it were facing an emperor. Ultimately, he could not utter another word.
