"Seriously? It seems that the influence of that fellow is still quite significant," Yang Xiaoyou remarked, taken aback by the throngs of people outside. With two unexpected guests in tow, he couldn't help but wonder how chaotic it must be inside.
However, it was clear that beside him, Qin Yao understood the situation well. She explained to the two that the reason for the crowd outside was likely to ensure that the venue inside remained secure, which had intentionally slowed down the entry process. Such scenarios were common at similar events.
"Usually, it's much better inside. Do you know who I am? Are you afraid to let me in?" Yang Xiaoyou said as he approached the ticket checkpoint with his cousin and cousin sister. To his surprise, a commotion erupted at the entrance where they were supposed to enter. A sharp voice rang out from the ticket booth.
A middle-aged man with a long face and an overly polished appearance stood at the ticket counter, acting rather arrogantly.
"Sir, we don't discriminate based on identity here. If you have a ticket, we will let you in. Please do not make things difficult for us," the ticket inspector replied, maintaining a professional demeanor despite being confronted aggressively.
"Hmph! It's obvious you knew I was coming and instructed every ticket booth not to sell tickets to me! They’re all sold out? Do you think I'm a fool? Tickets went on sale just a week ago and they’re already gone? You clearly have something to hide and don’t want me inside," the well-dressed yet sleazy man scoffed.
Hearing such words made Yang Xiaoyou chuckle. The idea that they would refuse to sell tickets just for him was absurd. Even if there were any last-minute tickets available, they certainly wouldn't be at the ticket booths.
However, he had to admit that this man's distinctive face seemed familiar from somewhere.
"Isn't that Zhouzi? How annoying! He was the loudest online, listing numerous examples that looked real enough. His analysis aimed to prove that all of Dream Butterfly Sister's various V and albums were fake—that she wasn't actually singing them. Or that they were artificially synthesized through technical means. Hmph, and now he’s actually here," Qin Yao remarked, clearly a fan of Dream Butterfly. She not only knew about her but also recognized Zhouzi as one of her biggest detractors.
Yang Xiaoyou listened to Qin Yao's complaints and felt a sense of disbelief towards Zhouzi, the so-called anti-fraud warrior. Was he really trying to ride on Dream Butterfly's fame? No wonder he looked somewhat familiar; he had indeed tried to tarnish a well-known figure's reputation while managing to avoid offending any real power players.
From Qin Yao's words, Yang Xiaoyou understood that this fellow must have used some misleading rhetoric to sway the uninformed crowd into believing his narrative, relying on misinterpretation and selective quoting to suggest something sinister.
Such fellows are not uncommon, but typically they are found among entertainment journalists with questionable ethics. This particular type of fellow, who makes a living by "exposing fakes," is quite a peculiar breed.
Perhaps this warrior against fakes entered the industry with a pure heart. However, over the years, the "success" and "fame" he has achieved have fundamentally changed him, instilling a delusion that he is always right.
It is even possible that his recent appearance is tied to some gray profit chains.
With the rapid rise of Dream Butterfly, there are certainly many who envy her.
As the commotion drew a crowd of onlookers, several reporters from newspapers and television stations in the distance seemed to have caught the scent of blood, pushing through the throng to capture the scene.
A certain entertainment journalist from Hong Kong had already begun interviewing Zhouzi. Despite his humble appearance, Zhouzi showed no signs of intimidation in front of the flashing cameras. He stood proudly like a rooster, his face displaying a range of exaggerated expressions that changed amusingly as he spoke during the interview.
"Just a clown; this time Dream Butterfly's live concert will give him a hard slap in the face." After glancing at the middle-aged lecherous man gesturing at the camera, Yang Xiaoyou sighed and led the two behind him through the ticket checkpoint into the venue.
If one is not envied, they are mediocre. The fame of Dream Butterfly guarantees that similar situations will continue to arise.
"We only have regular tickets; isn't it inappropriate to head toward the VIP area?" Watching Yang Xiaoyou clear a path ahead, Qin Yao felt excited yet worried about being kicked out for this reason.
"I called and checked; there are flexible indicators. The organizers said it’s fine for you to enter with regular tickets," Yang Xiaoyou replied nonchalantly, causing Dream Butterfly's fan to feel elated and her fondness for her cousin to increase significantly.
Only Qin Yu beside them kept wondering why they didn’t invite Liu Lianyue along to build rapport.
"Hmph, at least you know what's good for you. Come this way," Yang Xiaoyou said as they entered the VIP area, where they spotted Girl looking around eagerly. Upon seeing them, she waved cheerfully.
The ponytails on both sides swayed playfully, adding a touch of youthful charm and liveliness.
Qi Menglu's vibrant youthful appearance brought a sense of relaxation to some of the guests in the nearby VIP area. On her other side, Feng Lin sat quietly, causing Yang Xiaoyou, who was feeling a bit displeased due to the changes outside, to momentarily smile.
To avoid trouble, when Yang Xiaoyou was about to join Chen Wuyou, she was already aware of the identities of the two beside her. Now that she approached directly, there were no misunderstandings or complications.
Chen Hao was indeed sitting with Huang Ling on one side. This fellow, who seemed to have no sense of propriety around women, only snapped out of his romantic conversation with Huang Ling when Yang Xiaoyou walked up to him. He greeted her briefly before returning to his intimate exchange.
As Yang Xiaoyou introduced everyone around her in the VIP area, which had become somewhat conspicuous with so many people gathered together, a sarcastic voice suddenly broke through.
"Rich newcomers from the mainland are still just rich newcomers. The VIP area feels like a marketplace. Hmph, they seem to have gotten a bit carried away after a brief moment of fame from hype," said a middle-aged man dressed sharply in a suit, sporting a slight belly and thinning hair, as he entered with several others.
Right behind him was Zhouzi, who had been boasting outside with an air of mastery. It seemed this successful man had helped bring him in for some sort of support or patronage.
