"Hey, Zhao Chen! Over here!" In a teahouse, Yang Xiaoyou sat by the window, a bright smile on her face as she waved to Zhao Chen below.
Zhao Chen, whose expression was slightly gloomy, looked up and managed to force a faint smile upon seeing Yang Xiaoyou.
Even with his usual composure, he found it hard to calm down after receiving that text message. However, ever since Liu Lianyue brought him the bad news, he had prepared himself for the worst. His performance had been just right, keeping the other party unaware of the severity of the situation and oblivious to the lethal power of his trump card.
The previous collaboration regarding the Red Dragon hadn't made any excessive demands, but just when he thought he could breathe a sigh of relief, he was caught off guard. He still hadn't figured out how they had discovered his identity, and then came the chilling message from Hive Security Company. The implications were terrifying! They had guessed his situation with alarming accuracy, which revealed the true danger of his hidden cards.
Zhao Chen had always been confident in his ability to grasp the bigger picture, yet this unexpected turn of events left him feeling overwhelmed.
Fortunately, it wasn't all bad; Hive Security Company already had a terrible relationship with Tongtang Party Headquarters. Revealing his identity would do him no favors in suppressing them. What he needed now was to find out their bottom line and strive to maintain balance.
The message from them suggested that he should talk with someone he had previously interacted with, indicating they didn't want to push him too hard.
"Hey there, Zhao Chen! It seems we're at the same school again; what a coincidence!" Once Zhao Chen arrived, Yang Xiaoyou took the initiative to speak. On the surface, there was no hint of discord between them; it felt like old classmates meeting again.
Now that Zhao Chen's mindset had calmed down, his expression appeared much more natural as he flashed a sunny smile.
"Indeed! We should look out for each other more often," he replied with a chuckle. "Your electronic design skills were quite renowned back in school. I heard you were even recommended to Huangpu Military Academy but chose to take the regular entrance exam for East China Jiaotong University instead. That really surprised a lot of people!"
Compared to the two committee members he encountered at enrollment, Zhao Chen's conversational skills were undoubtedly stronger. He managed to bridge their relationship while subtly complimenting her.
In reality, Yuying Middle School had many talented individuals. Yang Xiaoyou had her share of fame, but most of it was tied to Liu Lianyue and Liang Wuxuan; the lesser-known stories were about some rumors involving a certain individual. Her achievements in electronics and her connection to Huangpu Military Academy hadn't garnered much attention at all.
At that moment, Yang Xiaoyou still wore a relaxed expression on her face. Then, as if recalling something, she said,
"Right. We should focus on the important matters. I don't know why our Boss suddenly asked me to come here. He wants to borrow Liu Lianyue for a while, and I hope you can pass this message to your Leader. Are you familiar with your Leader?"
As Yang Xiaoyou finished speaking, she seemed to show a curious look.
Zhao Chen, who had initially felt a slight tension in his heart, couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the other party didn't seem to be acting recklessly, and the request wasn't too difficult to fulfill.
As for Liu Lianyue, although she was one of his capable subordinates, it was indeed necessary to lend her out at this time. Zhao Chen was well aware of Liu Lianyue's appearance and charm. You know our alma mater is one of the top high schools in the country, its status comparable to that of a first-tier university. But compared to Huangpu Military Academy's prestige, it's quite far off. Even our current school, East China Jiaotong University, lacks many resources compared to there. Plus, it's not mandatory to serve in the military; the academy's main goal is still to cultivate talent. If I had the ability, I would want to go there too."
Listening to his rambling, Yang Xiaoyou felt somewhat emotional. To be honest, if she hadn't known his identity early on and without the aid of her memory, she wouldn't have been able to discern his true nature based solely on her analytical skills regarding necessary conditions.
Her impression of him was likely that of a capable yet not particularly talented young man; after all, this aspect was truly not her strong suit.
"Military school, no matter how many restrictions there are, it's just not for me. My studies rely mostly on myself; the school merely provides external conditions." After achieving her goal, Yang Xiaoyou wanted to throw down the cloth like a rag.

At first, he thought her major in the Archaeology Department indicated poor grades and that she had barely managed to enroll without any choice in her specialization. Now it seemed he had underestimated her; was she actually a recommended student from Pudong Military Academy? Her tone didn't sound like someone who was just bragging.
