"Remembering the good but forgetting the bad," she muttered to herself, feeling somewhat helpless in front of Yang Xiaoyou.
Feng Lin, who was following behind, also noticed some changes in Yang Xiaoyou and tilted her head, her ethereal voice chiming in, "Bad person?"
Although it was a question, it came out in her usual declarative tone.
"Yes, a bad person. Uh, just put the sword away; it's not like she's completely devoid of morals," Yang Xiaoyou replied, nodding vigorously at first. However, seeing Feng Lin prepare to draw her weapon made her break into a slight sweat.
In some ways, Feng Lin was more dangerous than herself. At least she often considered various aspects before taking action. If the trouble caused by acting outweighed the trouble that could be resolved by force, she would hold back.
But that logic didn’t apply to Feng Lin; for her, there probably wasn’t much difference between humans and animals.
Clearing her throat, Yang Xiaoyou said, "What’s going on? What are you two up to?" Qi Menglu, who had been enthusiastically teaching nearby, looked at the two with curiosity.
"Well, it seems there are quite a few bad people around school now. Just make sure to protect yourself," Yang Xiaoyou said with a shy smile.
Beside her, Feng Lin nodded in agreement, seemingly endorsing this idea. This made Menglu quite unhappy; after all, she was usually the one taking care of Feng Lin. How could she be put in such a position?
The playful ponytails of both girls began to sway with her displeasure, which amused Yang Xiaoyou. They were still just kids at heart.
Coincidentally, both Feng Lin and Qi Menglu had chosen Business Foreign Language as their major, so they ended up sharing a dorm room.
However, compared to how quickly Yang Xiaoyou had tidied up her own space, theirs was quite chaotic. Even with two roommates helping them out and decorating their dorm together, they had spent an entire afternoon making it work.
Although many boys had come to help out today, thanks to the charm of the two girls beside her, Yang Xiaoyou still attracted attention multiple times.
Finally managing to get everything sorted out after much effort, she made an excuse about her roommates having dinner together and left. Since they also wanted to get to know their roommates better, they let Yang Xiaoyou go.
"Oh my, are you quite patient? Still here?" As soon as she stepped out of the girls' dormitory, Yang Xiaoyou felt that familiar gaze again.
However, when she turned to look back, she couldn't help but smile.
At that moment, the fellow playing with the equipment was sneaking behind a pillar, clutching a box of milk, seemingly quite concerned about something.
"Hey? It was just here. Where did they go?" Wang Luoyan had just finished the milk in the box and casually crumpled it up to throw away. Turning around, she noticed her target had vanished.
"Who are you looking for?" Just then, a voice that sounded almost demonic came from behind her, sending a chill up her spine.
Turning around, she saw the loathsome fellow mimicking her by peering out from behind the pillar, as if searching for something as well.
She immediately jumped back a few steps, crossing her arms defensively with a wary expression.
"Ugh, what are you doing? I'm not interested in that underdeveloped student physique of yours. It gives off a creepy uncle vibe. Do you really think you can compete with those two girls from earlier? You can't even match their weakest points," Yang Xiaoyou said with a dismissive look.
Though the words seemed casual, they pierced Wang Luoyan's heart like arrows, as if something inside her had shattered.
She felt as if her soul was about to escape her body.
"Alright, I won't tease you anymore. Why are you following me again? If I remember correctly, I warned you. Although I believe in winning people over with kindness, if you keep provoking me, I might get angry," Yang Xiaoyou said with a smile that suggested he was joking.
However, having just recovered from the blow to her confidence, Wang Luoyan suddenly felt as if she were being stared at by a venomous snake. In an instant, the surroundings faded into darkness and white; only the seemingly harmless young man in front of her remained visible.
She lost her vibrancy! She lost her voice! She lost her sense of smell! Even all perception seemed to vanish!
It felt as though a massive stone was pressing down on her chest, making it hard to breathe. The scene before her gradually shifted from black and white to pure black.
It seemed like countless years passed in an instant; then suddenly, the weight on her heart lifted, and all her senses began to return.
After feeling dizzy for a moment, Wang Luoyan found herself inexplicably leaning against the pillar, sliding toward the ground. The devilish figure squatted in front of her with a vacant expression, rummaging through her belongings.
But the terror she had just experienced left her feeling utterly powerless; she couldn't even lift her hand to swat him away.
Tears welled up in her eyes as sadness flashed across her heart. Why did such a monster have to torment her? Just yesterday he had forced something into her mouth; today he was bullying her again. All because she had taken a few photos—how infuriating!
"Ah, found it! Here it is." Ignoring her gaze, Yang Xiaoyou pulled out her phone and began deleting files.
However, halfway through deleting the photos, she suddenly froze, staring blankly at one of them. Her fingers stiffened for a moment, and then she took out her phone with her other hand. After exchanging something, she absentmindedly tucked the other person's phone into her own pocket.
"Well, I was going to take you to see the adult world today, but it seems a bit unappetizing after all. Let's wait until you're a bit older," Yang Xiaoyou teased as she patted the other person's chest and stood up, waving her hand.
Left behind was the fellow who stood there like a statue. After Yang Xiaoyou left, she touched her face and muttered somewhat disgruntledly, "I'm not just a student; I'm at least a middle schooler."
As Yang Xiaoyou walked towards the meeting point she had arranged with her roommates, she couldn't help but pull out her phone. Seeing the photo on it made her eyes flicker.
The photo captured a moment of herself arguing playfully with Qi Menglu while carrying her luggage. The fellow had quite a good eye for photography; the shot was impressive.
However, what caught Yang Xiaoyou's attention was not the quality of the photo but rather that Feng Lin's sword sheath was in a half-drawn state at that moment, and she was looking off in another direction.
The person she was gazing at only partially appeared in the photo. A pink garment fluttered in the wind, revealing a beautiful silhouette that stood there unnoticed by anyone else, including herself.
Without a clear view—just half of a back—her extravagant attire failed to attract attention. Even Yang Xiaoyou didn't realize that Feng Lin harbored subconscious hostility. In this world, Yang Xiaoyou could only think of one person!
But according to the last advertisement at the subway station, Dream Butterfly should still be in Singapore.
Songjiang University Town itself felt like a small town; everything needed for daily life was available within East China Jiaotong University. From late-night snack stalls to high-end restaurants, it had it all.
Yang Xiaoyou had arranged to meet with her roommates at the entrance of the dining area. Now that registration time had closed, the last roommate should be arriving soon.
"This way," she said with a serious expression as she approached. Upon hearing calls from Liu Shaoqiang and Wang Xincheng, Yang Xiaoyou's expression naturally shifted to one of sunshine as she saw them.
The two who initially sensed something off felt it might have been an illusion.
"Sorry to keep you waiting! By the way, where's our other roommate?" Yang Xiaoyou asked cheerfully as she reached them.
At first, everything seemed fine, but as they continued talking, Liu Shaoqiang remained calm while Wang Xincheng appeared increasingly uncomfortable and stammered about how to respond.
It was Liu Shaoqiang who finally said flatly, "Oh him? He thought our dining place was too dirty and went out with some old friends he knows."
Although Liu Shaoqiang's tone was relatively calm, a hint of anger could still be detected in his voice.
Wang Xincheng, the honest kid, was a good-natured person and tried to remedy the situation.
"Well, it's not like that. He probably had something important to attend to that he arranged with someone else beforehand. Come on, we three are in the same boat."
From the expressions on their faces, Yang Xiaoyou understood what was going on. It seemed that the last roommate came from a wealthy family and might have a somewhat proud personality. Of course, this assumption was based solely on their side of the story, and Yang Xiaoyou speculated that they might have exaggerated a bit.
If it were truly as they described, then it wasn't just a matter of pride; it meant that he had completely disregarded Menglu and the others when he left.
Though one person was missing and the remaining two were quite different—one being rather aloof and the other an honest fellow—the atmosphere for dinner was still quite pleasant.
The restaurant they were in was filled with new students in similar situations. People moved between tables, engaging in conversation, and the overall atmosphere had reached a lively level. This helped Liu Shaoqiang open up more and speak freely.
However, there was one slight issue: perhaps due to the presence of a foodie among them, the final bill exceeded Wang Xincheng's expectations by quite a bit.
Seeing his pained expression while paying, Yang Xiaoyou felt a twinge of regret. Next time, she would definitely treat him instead.
