"Hey? The Archaeology Department, huh? This subject is quite traditional for us. Although it's a niche field, it has never been canceled in any of the previous years. My family deals in jade and stone trading, and we often come across antiques. There are quite a few experts from our university," said the thin-eyed boy, Qi Siwei, as he chatted with Yang Xiaoyou. Perhaps due to their shared interests, their conversation flowed smoothly.
While the other members of the group were outside the Ecological Park, staring blankly and discussing among themselves, Qi Siwei was engaged in a casual conversation with Yang Xiaoyou.
However, Yang Xiaoyou noticed that Qi Siwei seemed somewhat distracted during their talk. It was likely due to his personality; he wasn't very popular within the group and lacked the initiative that the more attractive girls had. Unable to join in on the discussions happening nearby, he could only converse with Yang Xiaoyou, who was even less popular.
"Jade trading, huh? Our school has related clubs, right? I'm quite interested in this aspect too. I might just support your family's business in the future," Yang Xiaoyou said. Initially, she had approached him just to ease the atmosphere, but now she found herself genuinely intrigued.

Hearing the instructor's calm assurance that large beasts would 'probably' not show up made several students at this entrance feel like they were about to break down.
"This area is specially designed for training purposes. It's going to be hard to find food supplies outside. You won't starve in a week, but if you don't venture deeper, it will definitely be tougher. How you choose to manage is up to you. Each group has a satellite positioning system, and there are many surveillance systems within the Ecological Park. After flashing a smile, the instructor pressed a button on the large door ahead. The sound of machinery echoed as the heavy door slowly opened.
A fresh scent of soil and vegetation rushed out as they looked into a vast expanse of overgrown grassland. In the distance, they could vaguely see the rising Rainforest—likely where food could be found as mentioned by the instructor.
The knee-high weeds had turned a dry yellow by September but still stubbornly covered the entire plain. It was impossible to tell what lay beneath them—mud puddles, leeches, or various poisonous insects and snakes.
With the instructor urging them on from behind, several students reluctantly stepped into the grassland. As soon as they entered, some girls felt disgusted by the soft mud beneath their feet.
However, thanks to their intensive training earlier, even those girls who wore expressions of fear managed to persevere as they slowly watched the gate close behind them. The door and surrounding iron gates completely isolated them from the urban environment outside.
"Alright everyone! Since we're here now, let's get energized! We have no choice but to spend a week here together. So how about we unite our groups? After all, there's strength in numbers." Just as the gate closed behind them, one boy from another group stepped forward and clapped his hands together. Yang Xiaoyou vaguely remembered him; he seemed to be a temporary class leader who had once rallied everyone together for support.
In terms of physique, although he was better than the Skinny Geek from Beside, he was still somewhat of a hindrance. At this moment, he likely stepped forward to leverage his 'organizational' strengths to elevate his own status.
However, the other groups showed little interest in his suggestion. The instructors had already explained the situation to them. "Don't pay attention to that idiot; let's go," said Yang Xiaoyou, the only student from Huangpu Military Academy. She calmly turned and began walking in a specific direction with her backpack. The other groups followed suit, each choosing their own path to act upon.
If everyone stayed clustered together, it would only lead to fierce competition for resources, resulting in no one benefiting. It was indeed better to spread out, which was why the instructors had sent all groups into different entrances.
Out of a sense of responsibility, the leader from Huangpu Military Academy was significantly more proactive than the Martial Arts Special Enrollment student from East China Jiaotong University. He took on a heavier load and moved ahead to clear the way.
"Wu Yue, let's discuss our situation first. Each person received just one portion of compressed biscuits. I think it's necessary for us to unify our distribution; saving some will definitely help us last longer. We should be able to find more food during this time," said the Martial Arts Special Enrollment student who had been following Wu Yue closely. He pulled out a box of compressed biscuits and a water bottle from his waist.
Before he could finish speaking, he heard the sound of crunching.

"Uh, were you guys supposed to hand over your food? Sorry, I didn’t know. Here, I’ll hand it over," said Yang Xiaoyou as she nearly finished half a bag of biscuits. Wiping crumbs from her mouth, she swallowed and innocently offered up half her box.
This made Cao Youcai from Martial Arts Special Enrollment twitch at the corners of his mouth. Damn it! Those are compressed biscuits! If she eats half a box and drinks some water afterward, who knows if she can handle it? Is she just out of a labor camp?
However, it seemed that this fellow really had just come out of confinement—was it really that terrifying in there?
Just as he pondered this, Wu Yue from Huangpu Military Academy interrupted.
"Alright, let’s leave it at that. We didn’t consult him beforehand; losing half a box isn’t too significant when we can cover it together. This time we are a collective bound by honor and disgrace; let’s not create conflicts over such matters."
Perhaps in terms of physical fitness, Wu Yue might not match Cao Youcai's abilities, but due to his military training habits, he was more suited for leadership roles.
Wu Yue then turned to Yang Xiaoyou and said, "Well, although I don’t know what mission you’re on, since you’re here for Special Recruitment, you must have your own strengths. I hope you can showcase your abilities during this operation and that we can work together smoothly."

However, the conversation between the two caused Cao Youcai and a figure known as Washboard nearby to simultaneously snort in disdain. In Cao Youcai's view, finding this fellow for Special Recruitment was likely just due to his position being more suitable; ultimately, he would still be dismissed with a mere order, and the Gun Permit would be surrendered. That meant he was completely useless.

She knew there was indeed a special reason why the other party was involved in Special Recruitment.
Meanwhile, in a dark cave belonging to the same ecological circle...
