"Miss Ouyang!" Lin Yi's heart leaped with joy as he saw Ouyang Shasha, who had just emerged from her invisibility. The sight of a familiar face warmed his heart, and he felt an impulse to rush forward and embrace her.
Wu Hao's old haunt came to Lin Yi's mind. It was here that they had first met! As the saying goes, the most dangerous places are often the safest. Lin Yi had concealed his presence in the sewers until the search team had left before he dared to come out.
"Captain, we’re late!"
An aged voice rang out, belonging to Benito, who had just appeared. His sharp eyes scanned the surroundings like those of a hawk.
"Thank goodness it's Benito; he's skilled at lurking in the dark. Otherwise, we might not have found you, Boss!" Ouyang Shasha smiled brightly, resembling a rose blooming in the night.
Lin Yi glanced around but saw no one else. He was hesitant to use his powers for sensing; his awareness of the surroundings was naturally poor. It wasn't until Ouyang Shasha approached him that he noticed her presence.
"Who else has come?" Lin Yi understood that the main group couldn't all be here, but he needed stronger support since he couldn't easily tap into his abilities.
"Renesmee and Nicolas are here too; they can fly and avoid radar detection!" Ouyang Shasha kept her eyes on Lin Yi while remaining vigilant.
"Let's head to the rendezvous point!" Lin Yi said, signaling for them to follow him.
Unable to use his energy freely, the three of them casually broke into a business vehicle parked near the hotel. Benito, known as the Thousand-Faced Fox, was not called that for nothing; breaking into a car without keys was easy for him.
Just as they settled into the vehicle and were about to start it, they suddenly felt a jolt. The entire car seemed to be seized by something and began ascending into the air!
In the next moment, Lin Yi could no longer afford to think of anything else; he unleashed all his Psychic Power!
Upon probing, his heart sank. There were over twenty experts gathered around them, all at Star Level Nine or above. They had effectively sealed off all possible escape routes.
"Mr. Lin. Do you really think you can escape under worldwide pursuit?" A familiar voice reached Lin Yi's ears—it was that tall Ten-Star Master from before.
"You two, quickly go invisible. Look for a chance to escape!"
Lin Yi felt his energy being locked onto by the enemy. Even if he wanted to tear through space and flee now, there was no opportunity unless he could break free from these experts' lock-on.
"Boss, the Blood Envoy is not far away. Let's go kill him!"
A fierce look flashed across Benito's face. At this moment, he had already reached Seven-Star Level combat power. Even without the War God Suit, he believed that facing an Eight-Star Level opponent would pose no pressure for him.
"You all go; I'll handle them!" Lin Yi knew that he was not facing ordinary enemies, and even Benito's strength was insufficient.
"Cut!"
Lin Yi shouted loudly, and his Psychic Power transformed into an invisible blade, directly severing the steel cable that was entangled with the vehicle. He then controlled the vehicle to land smoothly.
Afterward, Lin Yi kicked open the car door and stepped out, looking at the tense figures in the air and saying, "Release my team members, and I will come with you!"
"Hahaha! Captain Lin, are you negotiating? But what qualifications do you have to negotiate with us? Anyone who follows the Zombie is a traitor to humanity and must die!"
The Tall Man hovered in mid-air, yet he showed no signs of relaxation. Among these people, only his Psychic Power had a gap compared to Lin Yi's, making him feel the most pressure. Lin Yi's terrifying Spatial Ability left even his seemingly omnipotent superior in disbelief.
"If I fight you to the death, I believe you won't gain any advantage!" Lin Yi immediately gathered all his strength, instantly condensing it into a one-and-a-half-meter-long Energy Blade!
At that moment, Ouyang Shasha and Benito heard Lin Yi's voice in their minds: "When the fight starts, take advantage of the chaos to escape! Tell everyone to understand the truth and seek justice for me!"
It felt like a last will and testament, but Lin Yi showed no fear. After experiencing so many storms, he was no longer the naive staff member he once was.
In the next moment, before Ouyang Shasha and Benito could respond, Lin Yi suddenly stomped his feet and shot toward the sky, heading straight for the Tall Man!
The Tall Man did not expect Lin Yi to charge directly at him. He quickly formed a golden light in his hands.
Without any visible movements from either side, everyone felt a violent collision resonate in mid-air. Then a dazzling light erupted from their clash! The darkness before dawn shone as bright as day under this brilliant light!
Lin Yi suppressed a surge of blood in his chest, forcing himself not to spit it out! That last strike combined his Psychic Power for a powerful blow against the Tall Man!
Unfortunately, his Psychic Power was only slightly stronger than his opponent's; he could faintly sense that he was already at a disadvantage!
"You are the strongest Nine Star Level I have ever seen, but unfortunately, you will become history!" The Tall Man laughed heartily, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. Then, with a leap, he conjured a long Golden Staff between his hands.
"Whoosh—" Lin Yi felt a fierce gust of wind rushing toward him, and a dazzling beam of light instantly struck down toward his head.
Almost instinctively, Lin Yi began to gather energy to resist. However, he was already a moment too late; the opponent's energy beam crashed down with a thunderous roar onto Lin Yi's still-forming defensive energy shield.
Lin Yi felt an overwhelming force in his hands, as if his entire body had suddenly become heavy. Then, like a sandbag, he was slammed down onto the ground with a loud thud.
The solid marble floor was instantly blasted into a massive pit over a meter deep from that one strike, and even the surrounding marble cracked into pieces.
At that moment, Lin Yi felt pain coursing through every limb and bone in his body. Although his physique was incredibly tough, that last blow had injured his insides, making even breathing painful.
Just then, Lin Yi noticed that the space around him suddenly shifted; the Telekinetic Restraint that had been placed around him vanished completely!
Lin Yi's heart leaped with joy. Did his opponent think he was completely powerless now? Without hesitation, he tore through the air with both hands, ripping open a colorful Alternate Dimension. He then dove inside and vanished from sight.
In the next moment, Lin Yi stumbled and found himself on the desolate Eastern African Coast, precisely at the base previously designated for them by the United Nations in Lion City. However, this base had now been abandoned; the enormous black hole in the Communication Room still told tales of what had once transpired.
At that moment, Lin Yi cautiously extended his Psychic Power and quickly located Renesmee and Nicolas.
"You can come out now; I'm here!" Lin Yi transmitted his voice to them. After breaking through to Ten Star Level and with several practical applications under his belt, he had become increasingly familiar with using Psychic Power for communication.
Suddenly, two figures emerged from the darkness—it was Nicolas and Renesmee.
Renesmee looked as radiant as ever, while Nicolas appeared somewhat overshadowed beside her. The two seemed mismatched in every way; however, seeing them holding hands as they approached filled Lin Yi's heart with silent blessings for them.
"Boss, it's so good to see you!" Nicolas exclaimed as he rushed toward Lin Yi with tears in his eyes.
"Lin, you can't leave us behind to face danger alone anymore!" Renesmee said playfully while giving Lin Yi a salute. The once icy queen now resembled a friendly neighbor girl.
Lin Yi was momentarily at a loss for words; he simply nodded and then said to them, "Let's wait a few minutes; Ouyang Shasha and Benito should be arriving soon!"
Both of these individuals were quite formidable, and this distance would take them only a few minutes to cover. Coupled with their strange ability to become invisible, they were certainly not less dangerous than Lin Yi.
Suddenly, Lin Yi felt a twitch in his eyelid, followed by an overwhelming sense of danger. Instinctively, he activated his Psychic Power to the fullest extent.
His heart skipped a beat as he realized that he was surrounded by no fewer than two thousand people! However, he quickly recognized their familiar auras; they were all members of the Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps!
Just as Lin Yi was about to speak, the streetlights that had been extinguished suddenly flickered to life. Lin Yi squinted to adjust to the brightness and immediately felt a chilling sensation coursing through his body.
As he narrowed his eyes, he noticed that dark gun barrels were all pointed at him, and the faces behind those guns were all too familiar.
"You..." Lin Yi stared at the icy expressions, his heart racing with fear.
"Zombie Lin Yi, surrender at once!"
A cold voice rang out at that moment, and a tall, slender figure stepped forward—none other than the Tall Man he had just fought against.
"Wu Hao, Witerson II, do you really think I am a Zombie?" Lin Yi ignored the Tall Man and focused on the familiar faces around him, scrutinizing each one.
Yet these people seemed to have completely forgotten who Lin Yi was; they showed no signs of recognition whatsoever.
