Federation Homeworld was in the late winter season, and the morning air still held a chill, with little sound of insects or birds outside. Inside the temperature-controlled Zhide Building First Year Class Two classroom, an eerie silence fell after Ye Yu introduced himself.
“Silver Dragon Star?” The students were momentarily taken aback. Although it wasn't unusual for someone from Silver Dragon Star to study at Federation Homeworld, attending the Federal First Military Academy was indeed a first. Most of the students in this classroom came from distinguished backgrounds and were aware of the tensions between Silver Dragon Star and Home Planet. There was an unspoken understanding that people from Silver Dragon Star would not actively apply to the Federal First Military Academy.
“Ye Yu, please return to your seat!” Jagger, being a perceptive individual, quickly grasped the underlying reasons. However, since the situation had already unfolded, it was clear that those who made the decisions were aware of it. As an instructor, she needed to redirect the conversation and asked Ye Yu to sit down.
“Instructor, doesn’t Ye Yu need to explain why he was late?” Yu Zeming looked at Ye Yu, his expression calm and seemingly without malice.
Ye Yu glanced back at Jagger, who nodded lightly. He then turned to his future classmates and said, “Silver Dragon Star is four light-years away from Home Planet. I arrived here in a hurry via the Multidimensional Space-Time Tunnel. However, upon exiting the tunnel, I encountered a group of Interstellar Pirates. They were numerous, and unfamiliar with the star routes on this side of the Federation, I accidentally veered off course in my panic and lost track of time.”
“Interstellar Pirates? Aside from the Northern District, where else in the Federation are there pirates?” As soon as Ye Yu finished speaking, a chubby-faced boy chuckled at him casually.
Looking at these vibrant individuals, Ye Yu felt a stir within. Ever since the incident eleven years ago, he had deviated from a normal growth trajectory. Although he appeared young, his inner maturity far exceeded that of his peers. When faced with their teasing, he felt no impulse to anger.
“I must have seen it wrong; they attempted to board our ship but likely had ill intentions,” Ye Yu explained with a smile, not wanting to escalate matters further.
Suddenly, at that moment, a wave of unease washed over Ye Yu. An indescribable force seemed to envelop him like a tide. This power was colorless and formless yet exuded immense pressure.
In that instant, caught off guard, Ye Yu felt his head swell as if struck by a heavy blow!
“Mental Power attack!” Just as he was about to faint, he suddenly realized what this force was. He had thought that being on Federation Homeworld meant safety was assured and had let his guard down.
Almost simultaneously, deep within Ye Yu's mind, a powerful force coalesced into a web-like structure. This force surged forth like a dragon, darting toward the invisible power that attacked him.
Everything happened in an instant, though it could be described at length. Just as Ye Yu was about to faint, his Mental Power activated automatically. In that moment, Ye Yu seized the initiative, directly manipulating his Psychic Power to block the force of the attack outside his mind.
The next moment, a sudden gust of wind swept through the classroom, causing many people's clothes to rustle. However, this wind quickly vanished without a trace.
“Pfft—impossible!” At that moment, a tall, slender man with narrow eyes and a gaunt face suddenly fell from his seat, blood pooling at the corners of his lips, and a faint metallic scent quickly spread throughout the classroom.
“Peak! What happened to you?” Immediately, a petite girl beside him rushed over, her face filled with concern as she looked at him.
The man named Peak seemed not to hear the delicate girl’s words; his narrow eyes were fixed intently on Ye Yu, his expression one of disbelief.
“I’m sorry, classmate. The incident happened so suddenly that I couldn’t control it in time,” Ye Yu said, looking at Peak and realizing who had attacked him. He believed that the other party was merely testing him.
“Were you first or second?” Peak asked hoarsely, ignoring Ye Yu's apology.
“Peak, you should go to the infirmary!” Jagger said, glancing at the student with a slight twitch at the corner of her mouth. She naturally knew his identity and hurriedly urged him to seek treatment for his injuries.
Peak shook his head. “This little injury is nothing. I just wanted to test this classmate’s strength.”
“The son of the Gao Family can test whoever he wants, but just don’t get yourself hurt. I think someone’s days are about to get worse,” said a sharply featured man with thick eyebrows sitting in the second row, smiling slightly at Peak.
“Ouyang Yi, don’t mock me. If you had the ability to try against this classmate, you’d know your own strength is just so-so,” Peak replied disdainfully as he glanced at the man he referred to as Ouyang Yi.
Ouyang Yi seemed accustomed to Peak’s tone and simply responded lightly, “Even someone whose Mental Power has reached planetary high-level like Gao doesn’t stand a chance; how could I possibly compete with this classmate?”
"Planetary level?" Ye Yu was slightly taken aback. When Huang Laowai taught him about Mental Power, there had been no clear classification of its levels. However, he felt that his Psychic Power had undergone several growth spurts; he just didn't know how to categorize them specifically. Moreover, the grading systems of the Federation and Blue Seal should be different, and at that time, Ye Yu was too focused on escaping to think much about it.
Suddenly, Ye Yu felt a blur in front of him. Just as he instinctively prepared to counterattack, he clearly saw the face of the newcomer—it was Instructor Jagger.
"Ye Yu, has your Mental Power reached the Stellar level?" She was well aware of Peak's abilities. To suppress his Mental Power attack, one would need a Psychic Power that was at least one level higher. Yet this seemingly frail young man did not appear to be someone whose Mental Power could reach the Stellar level.
Mental Power, as a unique form of Martial Arts, was far more challenging than other types of physical training that focused on honing the body. From what she knew, even those born with Psychic Powers and who practiced diligently in later stages often only reached high Planetary level, which was already quite rare. Setting aside Peak's background, it was astonishing for someone his age to have cultivated his Mental Power to high Planetary level.
"I... don't know," Ye Yu replied softly, lowering his gaze.
