"Don't know? Didn't the person who taught you Martial Arts ever tell you?" Jagger frowned, clearly not believing Ye Yu's words. She was well aware of the difficulties in practicing Mental Power; despite her years of effort, she had only just broken through to the Apprentice level, barely reaching Planetary Level Beginner.
Ye Yu noticed the surprised looks from everyone and realized that his explanation would surely be met with skepticism. He quickly reorganized his thoughts and continued, "I should be a late-awakening Psychic Power Ability user. As for the specific classifications of Psychic Power, I'm really not clear on that."
Upon hearing Ye Yu's words, Jagger cast a doubtful glance at him. She didn't know much about this student. However, she didn't press further; instead, she casually activated the communicator on her wrist, knowing that the student database contained very detailed information.
Soon, as Jagger made her move, lines of information swiftly scrolled before her eyes.
"Ye Yu, born in the Federation Calendar year 996, formerly held the position of Silver Dragon Star Silver Dragon Guard officer in the Northern District, proficient in Mental Power!"
Seeing this, Jagger instinctively tried to browse for more information but quickly realized that this was all there was about Ye Yu! There were only two possibilities: either Ye Yu truly had such limited information available, or her rank did not grant her access to more details about him. Since Ye Yu had managed to come to the Federal First Military Academy and even received special attention from the dean after being late, he certainly could not be an ordinary person!
Jagger looked at Ye Yu in disbelief. This academy was filled with prodigies, yet with her status, she should have been able to learn enough about them. But here was this seemingly frail young man, and she couldn't uncover any specific information!
"He's actually an Ability user! No wonder he's so powerful!" remarked a round-faced boy earlier with a knowing nod.
As a soldier, Jagger naturally understood the importance of confidentiality. Since the academy had concealed this information even from her, she would not pursue it further.
"Alright then, since Ye Yu has introduced himself, you can return to your seat now," Jagger waved her hand, signaling that the matter was concluded.
Ye Yu let out a quiet breath and silently walked to an empty seat in the third row on the left side. Nearby sat a girl with big eyes and a ponytail.
"Hello! My name is Xia Chiu. It's nice to meet you!" As soon as Ye Yu sat down, the ponytailed girl extended her hand with a sweet smile on her face.
"Uh... Ye Yu, it's an honor to be your classmate."
Ye Yu, still a boy not yet twenty, felt a slight blush as he shook Xia Chiu's delicate hand, her touch soft and gentle. In that moment, he was momentarily lost in thought, but quickly regained his composure.
"May I ask if you have any other impressive abilities besides Mental Power?" Xia Chiu asked earnestly, her eyes sparkling as if they could speak. Her innocent demeanor made it hard to refuse her question.
Ye Yu smiled and shook his head. He had once taken pride in his combat skills, which had reached the fourth stage, but now all he had left was his Mental Power.
"Then you must not be as strong as my cousin. Not only has her Mental Power reached the Stellar level, but she also broke through to the Fifth Stage in combat skills this year! Even their Martial Arts instructor is no match for her without some special means!" Xia Chiu suddenly waved her fist excitedly.
" Xia Chiu, no talking in class!"
At that moment, a stern voice echoed through the classroom. Instantly, the previously noisy room fell silent. Just a second ago, Xia Chiu had been full of excitement; now she stuck out her tongue and lowered her head in silence.
In that brief moment, Ye Yu felt a strange energy flash through his mind. He quickly realized that the instructor's words carried a sort of mental charm. It was clear that someone who could serve as an instructor at the First Military Academy was not an ordinary person.
"Alright, everyone has introduced themselves. I'll briefly share my background as well. I am Jagger, and I believe some of you know I am your guidance director! I will manage your daily life, course schedules, and performance evaluations... In simpler terms, aside from direct teaching, everything else falls under my jurisdiction!
Since you all have come to this academy, it’s clear you want to realize your true potential. My responsibility is to help you maximize that potential. Therefore, during this time, I will hold you to strict standards. If you make mistakes, I will not go easy on you. However, if you perform excellently, the academy will certainly reward you generously! Everyone—do you understand?"
Jagger spoke at a steady pace, but with each word she delivered, there was an undeniable authority in her tone.
"Understood! Instructor!" At that moment, Jagger resembled a commanding officer rallying troops, successfully igniting the enthusiasm of the crowd.
Jagger nodded in satisfaction. Most of these students came from impressive backgrounds, and Jagger felt a sense of pride in being the Director of Discipline at the age of fifty. She knew that many of her students would one day stand at the pinnacle of Federation society, a glory that was beyond words.
Ye Yu's face showed little expression, but inside he felt a sense of helplessness. He had escaped from the Federation Homeworld and spent over ten years living as a soldier. Initially, he thought he would never return, but unexpectedly, to evade pursuers, he found himself back here, and now he was on the verge of becoming a military officer.
"Well, since you have all become students of the First Military Academy, you are naturally exceptional! However, our Command System students must not only excel individually but also possess strong collaborative command abilities. Only then can you maximize your effectiveness on the battlefield with limited resources!
Of course, given your current overall qualities, you do not yet have the capability to command troops in battle. Therefore, according to the academy's curriculum, you will first need to form seven groups of five! In the future, these groups will conduct simulated battles together, and the results of these battles will be the sole standard for evaluating your performance!
You are free to decide how to form your groups, and you can initiate simulated battles as you wish; however, you must conduct no fewer than five throughout the semester! The groups with the lowest overall scores over two consecutive years will have their members transferred to other departments… such as logistics or maintenance…”
Jagger paused here. For these young people, frontline warfare was far more exhilarating than logistics work. They were naturally reluctant to take on such roles. Perhaps one day they would come to understand the brutality of war and the fragility of life and would accept a life of ease. But that time was definitely not now!
