The next day, early in the morning, Yao Guang woke up from her dreams. When she opened her eyes, she saw Xue still sleeping on the bed in the outer room. 0

Since they had entered the Bandit Hideout under the pretense of being a married couple, Jun Ruo had arranged for them to have only one room with a single bed. On the first night, Xue had intended to sleep outside, but fearing that others might notice something amiss, they laid out a mat in the outer room. At that moment, Yao Guang saw the formidable Ten Kings of Hell pitifully lying on the ground, sound asleep. She felt both amused and sympathetic. Quietly, she pushed open the door and stepped outside. 0

Xue was awakened by a pleasant aroma. When he opened his eyes, he saw Yao Guang entering with breakfast in her hands. 0

Seeing that Xue was awake, Yao Guang waved the breakfast in front of him and said, "Hurry up and wash up; I've prepared breakfast." 0

Xue patted his head, wondering if he was still dreaming. It seemed impossible that Yao Guang was waiting for him with breakfast; surely he must still be asleep. Throughout their journey so far, Yao Guang had always slept until late morning. Yet today, she was up earlier than him. This sudden display of domesticity from Yao Guang left Xue feeling somewhat disoriented. 0

"Xue, why aren't you going yet?" Yao Guang repeated when she noticed his dazed expression. 0

"Okay," Xue replied, still confused. It wasn't until cold water splashed onto his face that he finally woke up. 0

By the time Xue entered the room, Yao Guang had already prepared everything. He sat down at the table, and Yao Guang immediately placed chopsticks in his hands. 0

"Try it quickly," she urged eagerly. 0

Yao Guang looked at Xue with anticipation, making him feel quite flattered. 0

He clumsily picked up the chopsticks and took a bite of the dishes on the table. 0

"How is it? How is it?" Yao Guang asked impatiently as she watched him. 0

Xue had fallen silent at this point. The appearance of Yao Guang's dish was indeed quite appealing, but in terms of taste, Xue couldn't say it was the worst thing he had ever eaten; however, it certainly ranked among the less favorable. 0

"Well, it's still acceptable," he said, looking into Yao Guang's hopeful eyes, and he felt compelled to deceive her. 0

"Really?" she asked, her tone clearly skeptical. 0

"Really." To prove his sincerity, Xue took a big bite and finished off more than half of the dish. 0

"Then I should try some too." Seeing how happy Xue was while eating, Yao Guang picked up her chopsticks, ready to sample her own cooking. 0

Xue immediately swatted Yao Guang's chopsticks away. "Let me eat it all by myself; it's rare to see you like this." He couldn't let Yao Guang taste her own cooking, or the truth he was trying to hide would be exposed. 0

After being thwarted by Xue, Yao Guang's mind began to race with doubts. "Is it really that bad?" Looking at Xue's expression, she could guess that her dish probably wasn't very good, and that Xue was just trying to comfort her by pretending it tasted fine. 0

"No, it's really good," Xue insisted as he continued to shovel food into his mouth, most of the dish already gone. 0

Yao Guang quietly took a piece of food and popped it into her mouth. "Yuck! What is this flavor?" Just a small taste filled her mouth with an unidentifiable taste that was simply terrible. 0

"You shouldn't eat it," Yao Guang said as she snatched the chopsticks from Xue's hands. How could he still be enjoying it? It was inedible! 0

"It's not that bad; it's actually quite good," Xue replied with a smile as he reclaimed the chopsticks Yao Guang had taken from him and continued eating the unappetizing dish. 0

"It’s clearly awful," Yao Guang retorted. "I can’t do anything right; I can't even cook for you." 0

Upon hearing this, Xue put down his chopsticks and looked at Yao Guang. "No, anything you make is delicious. Really, I don’t think it tastes bad at all." 0

Yao Guang felt even more saddened upon hearing this. "Today is your birthday, and I wanted to cook a meal for you, but I never expected..." 0

She had hoped to surprise Xue on his birthday, but now everything had gone wrong. Despite secretly learning several recipes from Aunt, why did the food still taste bad? 0

Xue was momentarily stunned when he heard that today was his birthday. He didn't even know it was his own birthday. How did Yao Guang find out? 0

"My birthday?" Xue asked in confusion. 0

"Yes, today is your birthday. I once went to find Morning Star Lord; he has all the records since the beginning of time. That's where I found out your birth date. I wanted to surprise you," Yao Guang said, her voice tinged with sadness. She had finally thought of a way to do something for Xue rself, and she was excited about it. The women from Bandit Hideout, like her, believed that cooking a meal for their husbands would bring them joy. 0

"Yao Guang, I'm very happy," Xue replied, feeling an indescribable mix of emotions. Since his arrival in this world, he had been a living god; no one cared about a god's birthday. Gods were special—they did not age or die, nor were they born or extinguished. In the world of gods, time lost its meaning; both he and others faded into a monotonous existence that he had endured for many years. Yao Guang's kindness towards him was a feeling he had never experienced before. Perhaps this was why he gradually found himself drawn to her. 0

Yao Guang still felt a bit upset for not celebrating Xue's birthday properly. Sighing, Xue pulled Yao Guang tightly into his embrace. This foolish girl—it was already enough just like this. 0

Holding Yao Guang close, Xue felt an unprecedented sense of fulfillment filling his chest. 0

"I'm sorry, Xue. I didn't do well," Yao Guang said as she felt his warmth enveloping her, making her feel even sadder. This feeling was more profound than when she previously realized her feelings for him; it was different because they were together now. Yao Guang wanted to treat Xue even better, and the more she thought about it, the less she could allow herself to make any mistakes regarding him—especially on such an important day when he had to eat the poorly made dishes. 0

"Fool," Xue murmured softly. Those two words made Yao Guang understand instantly; all her worries and dissatisfaction vanished in an instant. 0
