Yama's Wedding
Xue was preparing to take further measures when a voice echoed from above. Upon looking up, he realized it was the Western Buddha who had arrived.
"Buddha?" Yao Guang gazed at the Buddha hovering in midair, puzzled. What could the Buddha possibly want here?
The Western Buddha smiled warmly at Yao Guang and Xue, saying, "Star Lord Yao Guang, you were born of Father and Mother. Why have you willingly descended into the Demonic Path?"
"Demonic Path? Is that truly what I walk? Then what do you call your so-called righteous path? It’s merely your belief that my path is the Demonic Path. If that’s the case, then I shall declare that my path is the righteous one! And all of you are on the Demonic Path, which means you are the true Demonic Path!" Yao Guang retorted disdainfully at the Buddha.
"Yao Guang, how can you speak like this!" Xue exclaimed in shock upon hearing Yao Guang's words. He immediately reprimanded her. Regardless of how esteemed the Buddha's identity was, Yao Guang should not have spoken to him in such a manner.
"What have I done wrong? If it weren't for you so-called righteous ones, how would our Big Dipper Seventh Star have fallen to such depths? Why should I be treated this way by you?" Yao Guang replied defiantly.
"Wheel King, it's fine; let Star Lord Yao Guang express her grievances! Besides, this matter is indeed something our Western Court has mishandled," the Buddha said graciously, waving his hand to signal Yao Guang to continue.
Upon hearing the Buddha's words, Xue fell silent and ceased his reprimand of Yao Guang.
At that moment, Yao Guang felt a sense of embarrassment due to the Buddha's attitude. She was not one to hold grudges against those who were reasonable; now, because of the Buddha's demeanor, all her grievances that she had intended to voice were swallowed back down.
"Alright, we need not prolong this. Buddha, what brings you here this time? If you intend to fight against our Dragon Clan, then I will gladly accompany you to the end!"
Now that the conversation had reached this point, Yao Guang no longer cared about the Buddha's attitude. She represented the Dragon Clan and had to consider their interests in all her actions.
"Star Lord Yao Guang, we can sit down and talk. Now that your Brothers have been rescued, they only need to undergo a millennium of re-cultivation to return to their former selves, and you need not dwell on this matter," Buddha sincerely wished to bring Star Lord Yao Guang back into the fold. Just yesterday, he had a deep conversation with the Emperor, which also included Dragon Lord.
This war had lasted long enough. Most of those who needed to be dealt with in the Three Realms had already been addressed. As for Star Lord Yao Guang, they felt a deep sense of regret towards her and were willing to expend all their efforts to help her.
Meanwhile, the Jade Emperor hoped that Star Lord Yao Guang would fade away from this world, making it easier for Big Dipper Seventh Star to be under his control.
However, Buddha's heart was filled with compassion; he did not wish to see such a scenario unfold. Moreover, Star Lord Yao Guang was the beloved of Xue, and Buddha wanted to do her a kindness.
"How can I turn back now? How can I return? Things have come to this point; Buddha, you need not persuade me. My mind is made up!" Yao Guang stubbornly replied to Buddha.
Xue looked at Yao Guang before him, feeling a pang of pain in his heart.
"I am compassionate; indeed, the sea of suffering is boundless. Turning back is the shore!" Buddha said compassionately as he gazed at Star Lord Yao Guang, his hands pressed together as he chanted these words of wisdom.
Yao Guang looked at Buddha before her—so noble, so unattainable.
Yet she felt completely different from them now. With matters having reached this stage, she could only grit her teeth and move forward.
Yao Guang brandished her Golden Spear and charged ahead. In a blaze of golden light, she lost consciousness and knew nothing more. Perhaps this was liberation! She felt powerless against her own fate!
"Yao Guang!!!!"
All she could hear was Xue's desperate shout. Xue, leaving you alone in this world is my fault. Yet I never managed to tell you that in my heart, you have always been the one I love most!
With that flash of golden light, the great battle finally came to an end. On that day, both the Dragon Clan and the Court witnessed Star Lord Yao Guang vanish into a beam of light from Buddha, and from that moment on, Star Lord Yao Guang was no more in the realm of the living or the dead.
A long time later, there were reports of a pair of individuals seen in the mortal realm—a man dressed in white, graceful and handsome, and a woman, charming and exceptionally beautiful.
Some claimed to have overheard their conversation...
"Xue, will you just tell me? What really happened to me that day?"
"I won't tell you. I want you to be curious about me for the rest of your life, always asking but never knowing!"
"Hmph, if you won't tell me, then so be it. I already know. That day, it must have been Buddha who secretly saved me!"
The woman's bright laughter echoed through the In the Woods, while the man simply followed behind her, smiling as he watched her laugh freely before him.
Who knows? According to all records, Star Lord Yao Guang had already faded away from this world. Perhaps one day she would return; perhaps one day the light of this Big Dipper Seventh Star would shine once more.(THE END)
