Early the next morning, Li Hong sprang out of bed feeling refreshed.
Don't ask how he slept with Roshifu and Eastern Maiden; that's a topic best left untouched.
In any case, it had been a blissful night!
After washing up and having breakfast, Li Hong headed to Sweet Potato Films with Eastern Maiden and Roshifu.
Though small, Sweet Potato Films was fully equipped. The office location was certainly not lacking in amenities.
Carmillon had been quite generous; Sweet Potato Films was now situated on the twelfth floor of a building.
Indeed, an entire floor belonged to Sweet Potato Films. Moreover, the rent had been paid for three years upfront. As of now, there were still about two and a half years left on the lease, more than enough time for Li Hong to make his mark.
Of course, the reason Sweet Potato Films had become a shell of its former self was largely due to Carmillon. After transferring Sweet Potato Films to Li Hong, Carmillon took all the original staff with him. What remained for Li Hong was truly just an empty shell.
However, it wasn't entirely unkind. At least some filming equipment and essential items for a film company were left behind by Carmillon.
Upon arriving at the company, Li Hong unlocked the security door with his key and stepped into the chaotic Sweet Potato Film Company.
"Is this your entertainment industry aircraft carrier?" Eastern Maiden asked with a teasing smile.
Li Hong rubbed his hands together and boasted, "You guys don't understand; even a canoe can evolve into an aircraft carrier."
After tidying up a bit, footsteps were heard at the entrance.
"My lord, we have arrived!" Soulmate shouted excitedly.
Li Hong quickly welcomed Soulmate and the others inside. Fortunately, the Soul Clan seemed to know what to expect from Li Hong's place, so not too many people showed up.
Looking at the large bag on Soul Sphere's back, Li Hong curiously asked, "What's in there?"
"Identification cards!"
Soul Sphere placed the bag on the office desk, revealing a large stack of identification cards inside.
Li Hong: "..."
"Are you trying to get us killed? We run a legitimate Film Company, and you have to go and make fake IDs, right?" Li Hong was nearly in tears.
These guys just couldn't stand to see him doing well. With so many identification cards, if Tailored Man saw them, they would definitely be arrested for forgery.
Soulmate slapped Soul Sphere on the forehead and shouted, "Soulmate, didn't I tell you to keep your package secure?"
Well, who exactly are you scolding?
Quickly stopping Soulmate, Li Hong pointed at the pile of identification cards and asked wearily, "What are you doing bringing all your Soul Clan Everyone's IDs?"
Soulmate scratched his head and curiously replied, "Well, don't you need to bring your ID when joining the company? I figured since there are so many of us in the Soul Clan, it’s impossible for everyone to come. Plus, this place can't fit all of us. So, we just brought our clan members' IDs."
Li Hong felt a headache coming on; their thought process was truly unique.
"Alright, alright, I'll take them all! But with so many of you, it’ll take forever just to process your contracts. How about this: I'll prepare a contract template for you later and give you some money. You can print it out yourselves and fill it in before returning it to me."
Faced with over ten thousand members of the Soul Clan, Li Hong had no choice but to make do with this arrangement.
Finally, looking at Soulmate and Soul Sphere in their Anima suits, Li Hong's eyes lit up as he enviously remarked, "What the hell! You guys must be really rich from moving bricks!"
"Not at all..."
"Uh, am I interrupting?" Lu Mao peeked his head around the door, smiling awkwardly.
Li Hong's eyes lit up as he quickly walked over. Grabbing Lu Mao's hand, he exclaimed, "Hey, you're that guy... Green Hat Brother, right?"
"Yes, yes, that's me!" Lu Mao felt a surge of excitement upon realizing that someone as important as Li Hong remembered his name.
He had gone to the department head early in the morning to process his leave of absence. He thought that even if Li Hong was just playing him, he had to give it a shot.
Lu Mao dreamed of one day walking confidently into the Golden Horse Hotel, calling for seven or eight—no, at least nine—support girls to kneel down and play with him... ll!
That's right; for this dream, Lu Mao would never miss any opportunity!
Li Hong's humble demeanor only increased Lu Mao's fondness for the seemingly unremarkable Sweet Potato Films.
With a boss like this who didn't adhere to conventions, the future looked promising!
However, as Lu Mao followed Li Hong into the office and saw the mountain of identification cards piled on the desk, his enthusiasm waned.
Lu Mao: "..."
Soulmate quickly explained, "Don't misunderstand; we're not in the business of making fake IDs!"
Li Hong wanted to smack Soulmate for saying that; wasn't it just drawing attention to their situation?
Lu Mao might not have thought much of it before, but now Soulmate's comment only raised more suspicions.
Feeling a sinking sensation in his heart, Lu Mao realized he might have been deceived. And this was likely no ordinary scam.
"Your company's... business seems quite extensive," Lu Mao could only mumble aimlessly.
Li Hong noticed Lu Mao's concern and rolled his eyes, explaining, "Don't misunderstand, we are a legitimate company. These IDs are for our actors' registration."
"Actors' registration?" Lu Mao was taken aback; he hadn't expected that.
But as he glanced at the pile of IDs on the table, he was suddenly alarmed. With so many IDs, just how many actors were signed with this unknown Sweet Potato Films?
In an instant, Lu Mao felt invigorated.
With so many actors involved, it couldn't possibly be a shell company. After all, even a place that fakes IDs wouldn't have this many.
Pointing to the elegant Eastern Maiden and Roshifu beside him, Li Hong introduced, "These two are our company's rising stars and leading ladies—Eastern Maiden and Roshifu!"
"Hello!" Upon hearing Li Hong's introduction, Lu Mao immediately felt hesitant to look at the two women.
In a typical film company, when the boss introduces someone like that, they are either sweethearts or trouble. As a newcomer, he needed to treat these two with utmost respect.
However, Eastern Maiden and Roshifu did not return his courtesy with warm expressions. Li Hong quickly switched gears, pointing to Soulmate and his companions. "These gentlemen here will be the box office guarantees for Sweet Potato Films—our future Best Actors! The Soul brothers: Soulmate, Soul Sphere, Soul Account, and Soul Mix!"
"You... hello!" Despite being taken aback by the names of the Soul Clan members, Lu Mao still maintained his professionalism and shook their hands.
But soon enough, Lu Mao realized something was off.
Why were there no introductions for other roles?
What about the makeup artists? The set designers? The screenwriters? The script supervisors? The art directors? The stunt coordinators? The cinematographers?
"I can only say that aside from the actors, the rest is up to you," Li Hong seemed to sense Lu Mao's confusion and patted his shoulder earnestly.
It's all on me now?
Lu Mao was a bit confused, wondering if he had misunderstood something. Was this a Film Company or an Amateur Troupe?
"This... there can't be no script, right?" Lu Mao was close to tears. What was the point of being here if there was nothing at all?
Li Hong's eyes widened as he retorted, "Nonsense, how could there be nothing? Come on, let me show you our first major project."
He opened his Wald Document and clicked on a file for Lu Mao to take a look.
Before he even got to the main text, Lu Mao was instantly shocked by the title radiating an overwhelming aura!
"I Am Red Riding Hood, I Love the Big Bad Wolf."
