"What the hell, why does this concern me?" Under the pressure of this unscientific magic aiming at him, Li Hong felt overwhelmed.
"Who are you really? Why are you inciting Taidamir to seize my nephew's throne?" Ashe's face was cold as ice, and it seemed that one wrong move would result in an arrow shot from her bow.
Li Hong was sweating profusely. Why was this his problem? Clearly, it was Ma Su who was vying for the throne; how did it turn into him wanting it?
Well, Li Hong couldn't understand the Barbarian King Tadamir's intentions. He had no use for the throne, after all; he couldn't stay in this world forever. With the Barbarian King's actions, Ashe and Liu Shan were both misled. Ironically, the unconscious Ma Su had somehow managed to clear his name.
"I—I didn't want the throne! At first, I just wanted to help Ma Su rebel. The real contender is Ma Su; I'm just an accomplice at most," Li Hong said, feeling a headache coming on.
Ashe snorted coldly. "I don't care if you're an accomplice or the main player; anyone who wants to overthrow my Liu Family's rule is a traitor and deserves to die!"
"Who knew your last name was Liu? If I had known there was someone as ruthless as you in the Liu Family, I wouldn't have gotten involved in this rebellion," Li Hong thought to himself.
He had already overestimated the dangers of this operation, but he still hadn't anticipated that Ashe would be such a formidable figure within the Liu Family. It wasn't his fault for being careless; after all, who could have guessed that Ashe was actually Liu Cuihua, Liu Bei's sister and Liu Shan's aunt?
It was this unexpected revelation that caused their plans to fall apart. Not to mention that their two strongest fighters, Ma Su and the Barbarian King, were already out of commission. With Li Hong's lackluster combat skills, it was practically impossible for him to take down Ashe.
Realizing that the rebellion was doomed, Li Hong decided to be frank. "To be honest, your Liu Family can't hold onto this throne. If Liu Bei were still around, that would be one thing, but he's gone now. With Liu Shan's character, how long do you think Shu Han can survive?"
"We have Zhuge Liang; how can we not hold our ground? Don't think just because you look honest that you can spout nonsense in front of my aunt!" Liu Shan retorted.
Ashe furrowed her brow, contemplating Li Hong's words. Although they were harsh, they contained a grain of truth.
The current state of Shu Han was indeed one of external strength but internal weakness—vulnerable and fragile. If Zhuge Liang were still alive, things might be different; but if something happened to him, without their strategist, they would essentially lose before even entering battle.
Cao Wei had Cao Cao, Dian Wei, and Xiahou Dun as their sturdy shields—tough and unyielding. Sun Wu had Big Qiao Qiao and Zhou Yu among other powerful mages with explosive capabilities. As for Shu Han, aside from Zhuge Liang being somewhat competent, the rest were basically useless.
Li Hong glanced at Ashe's expression and silently breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully she hadn't gone mad; otherwise, if she shot an arrow at him, he would be finished.
In a bid for self-preservation, Li Hong quickly activated the illusion function of his Reincarnation Watch. For now, Ashe seemed to be wavering; as long as he could deceive this naive girl, his life would likely be spared.
The moment the Illusion App activated, the once picturesque royal garden transformed into a scene of bloodshed and chaos, drenched in red.
The fake mountains and strange stones had all been turned into corpses and bone hills by Li Hong. The place was dim and lifeless, the earth parched and dry. A gentle breeze swept through, carrying with it the faint sound of a baby's cries.
Ashe snapped back to reality, glancing around in a daze.
Wasn't she in the palace? How had she suddenly arrived in this strange place? And why did it look so eerie, so unsettling?
"What have you done?" Ashe asked coldly.
Among the three of them, only they remained conscious. Liu Shan certainly lacked the ability to cause such a phenomenon; she hadn’t done anything. The bizarre scene before them could only be attributed to this strange individual.
Li Hong shook his head and explained, "Don't rush. Let me show you something."
With that, the illusion shifted once more. They found themselves in an ancient battlefield, where scenes of slaughter and combat unfolded before their eyes.
The opposing sides were clearly defined. Ashe and Liu Shan could easily see that this was a battle against an alien race. What intrigued them was that they had never seen the armies fighting against these invaders before.
Then, the scene changed again. This time, they were in the boundless Cosmic Starry Sky. A squad of human soldiers clad in peculiar armor engaged in a fierce battle against alien creatures covered in tentacles amidst the stars.
The images continued to switch rapidly as Li Hong guided them through snippets of various war films: Avatar, Edge of Tomorrow, Red Cliffs, Battle of Julu, Shangganling, and many more. Roughly counting, Li Hong had shown them clips from at least a hundred films. All these stories shared a common theme: the struggles of the Huaxia people against foreign invasions and their fight for resistance.
After watching, Ashe and Liu Shan fell silent. They could hardly fathom how much suffering humanity had endured; it seemed that every moment brought new enemies and challenges.
"If this is what the future looks like, what do you think?" Li Hong said with a half-smile.
"What?"
"How is this possible?"
Ashe and Liu Shan exclaimed in unison; could this truly be a vision of the future? Was life for future humanity destined to be a constant battle against various extraterrestrial threats?
"What exactly are you?" Ashe finally asked, curiosity piqued.
This person was too mysterious; he appeared just like an ordinary individual yet could show them glimpses of the future.
Li Hong smiled, his lips curling up. "I am Fuxi! One of the ancient human emperors, Fuxi! Brother Nüwa, the ancestor of humanity. I have come to this world because I sensed the impending crisis facing the human race. I have decided to unify humanity to gather all our strength to resolve this crisis."
"Fuxi?" Liu Shan exclaimed in shock.
As a descendant of the Huaxia people, how could he not know the significance of Fuxi? But this was clearly a figure from mythology; how could he be real?
Compared to Liu Shan's astonishment, Ashe seemed more accepting. After all, she had already approached the realm of myth herself. At least in the eyes of ordinary people, Ashe, who could shoot crystal magic arrows, was no different from a deity.
However, even so, Ashe still felt a sense of disbelief. The person before her was actually the legendary Emperor Fuxi!
If it weren't for the vivid scenes she had witnessed earlier, Ashe might have considered shooting this imposter with an arrow. But those scenes had unfolded right before her eyes; they couldn't have been faked. With such abilities and no need for deception over a mere mortal throne, Ashe had come to believe everything Li Hong said.
The person before her was truly Fuxi!
