Just back from the journey, the storm did not disturb Jufeng too much, retreating on its own to let his boss rest early. Of course, Xue could not help but criticize Jufeng, lecturing him about life and death matters and the safety of the entire gang. Jufeng remained silent, secretly exchanging glances with Tong Bailong, treating Xue's nagging as mere background noise. 0

Later in the evening, Jufeng sent a text message to Lu Qijia. The content was nothing new, just a casual conversation starter. Ever since meeting Flower Snow Moon, this sister had been somewhat unpredictable in her moods and had grown colder towards Jufeng, making it feel as if Second Sister had possessed her. Throughout their journey, she had not given Jufeng a pleasant expression. Several times he attempted to ease the atmosphere, but naturally, his warmth was met with coldness. 0

However, Jufeng found that he held no lingering resentment. In the past, he would not have cared about being charming or gentle; if a girl threw a tantrum at him, he would respond with equal stubbornness. During his middle and high school years in the Capital City of Huancheng, he had unknowingly frozen many girls' hearts. Yet he never learned from it, always believing that girls should possess more masculine qualities like Flower Snow Moon to be more comfortable around. This was why when Lu Qijia first approached him, he had been evasive and inexplicably angry. 0

Now, though, he couldn't muster any anger; instead, he found himself wanting to comfort her. For some reason, Jufeng was puzzled by his own feelings. 0

Could it be that Politeness had dulled his senses? 0

Or perhaps it was due to Lu Qijia's words in front of Flower Snow Moon. 0

The text message fell into the waves of the East Sea like a pebble from Nanshan Mountain, ultimately creating no ripples at all. 0

Jufeng waited for a long time; as night deepened and there was still no response, he could only self-deprecate. He truly could not fathom women's thoughts; after all, the woman he had interacted with the most throughout his life was none other than the fiery beauty who did not resemble a woman at all. 0

He thought that Xue should be familiar with this matter; however, Jufeng felt too embarrassed to ask Xue for advice. If the brothers of Hurricane found out about this, how could he maintain his authority? 0

Unable to make sense of it all, Jufeng vaguely remembered a classic line from an evening soap opera: time can heal everything. 0

So he decided to wait a little longer. 0

The next morning, Jufeng went for a jog and had breakfast with Tong Bailong before heading to school to handle some matters. Having skipped classes for an entire week without reason at the start of the semester—though Lu Qijia had assured him it would be fine—he still left a poor impression on the school. Nevertheless, Jufeng did not care much about this impression. 0

After exchanging pleasantries in the counselor's office, Jufeng and Tong Bailong stepped out with lingering apprehension. Tong Bailong scratched his head in confusion. 0

"Brother Jufeng, why are college teachers so gentle? They're much better than our previous teachers." 0

Jufeng smiled helplessly; it seemed Luni had indeed put in considerable effort, reflecting her influential background. 0

He patted Tong Bailong on the shoulder, not answering his question but instead reminding him of some important points for class. Then Jufeng left Tong Bailong behind and returned to the villa. 0

The reason was quite simple; the counselor saw Jufeng's arms wrapped in bandages and couldn't bear to let him continue attending classes. Thus, he was given a break, with no specific date set for when he should return once he healed. 0

Jufeng was quite pleased with this arrangement. After all, knowledge was primarily about practice, and with his own intellect, passing the final exam would be a piece of cake. 0

Hua National University's policy had always been this way: as long as one passed the written exams, it wouldn't affect graduation at all. 0

Upon returning to the villa leisurely, Xue had already gone out to socialize, while Lezheng was naturally mingling in several places. Jufeng found himself alone, feeling rather idle. 0

Before long, a disciple came to report that the plaque ordered by Lezheng had arrived. Jufeng felt puzzled; it seemed Lezheng hadn't mentioned anything about a plaque before. He then recalled their mundane conversation from last night and couldn't help but smile knowingly. 0

Lezheng truly had impressive efficiency in handling such matters. 0

Sure enough, a large plaque was brought in, apparently made from ancient wood with a deep blue background. On it were five gilded characters written in running script: Canglang's Floating Life. It exuded an impressive aura and an ancient charm. 0

Jufeng pondered repeatedly and found it quite good, instructing someone to hang it up. However, the modern architecture paired with the ancient plaque did seem somewhat incongruous. 0

Jufeng laughed heartily and didn't mind; he returned to his room. Although he was injured, he knew he couldn't afford to slack off. Xue had subtly hinted yesterday that the hurricane had been nurtured well enough; since his ambitions extended beyond just a small plot of land, he needed to gather more resources. 0

However, Washing City’s sensitive status and complex situation made even the university town a challenging place to navigate. Jufeng needed to think it over carefully. 0

As noon passed, the sun began to slant downwards, creating a drowsy atmosphere. Some disciples of the hurricane were scattered in the courtyard of Canglang One Floating Life, chatting idly while occasionally tugging at their shirts as if annoyed by the lingering heat that refused to dissipate. 0

Suddenly, a black car sped in from afar and came to a stop in front of the villa. Three people emerged from the vehicle; one stood quietly beside the car while another, older man with hands hanging at his sides followed closely behind a middle-aged man dressed in a suit, maintaining a perpetual distance of one step behind and remaining silent. 0

The middle-aged man did not rush in but waited for the disciples who appeared tense to react before going back to inform the villa's owner. 0

Two individuals stepped forward intending to negotiate with the middle-aged man but were blocked by the person behind him who took two steps forward. The hurricane disciples grew furious and were about to speak up when Jufeng slowly emerged from the villa. 0

Jufeng glanced at the black car, aware of the reputation of its occupant, yet puzzled as he did not seem to recognize the person. Could this be a giant from the Underworld? 0

Before Jufeng could ask, the middle-aged man spoke first. 0

"I am Jia'er’s father." 0

Among the people Jufeng knew, there was only one person named Jia'er. Upon hearing this, the young man felt a chill run down his spine, stunned into silence. 0

... 0

"Uncle, Sister Dai didn’t tell me you were coming, so I just acted recklessly. I hope you can forgive me." 0

Jufeng stood up to pour a glass of water for Uncle Lu, feeling somewhat awkward. This had nothing to do with the man's high status or wealth; it was simply because he was Lu Qijia's father. Ever since their trip to the capital, Jufeng had felt a bit unnatural around him. 0

The middle-aged man smiled warmly, accepting the glass of warm water from Jufeng and drinking it without pretense, seemingly enjoying the refreshing liquid, which brought a smile to his face. 0

"It’s no trouble. I didn’t know Jia'er was here; otherwise, she would have played her sisterly tricks on me." 0

Upon hearing this, Jufeng sensed a deeper meaning in the words but found it hard to comprehend. He could only awkwardly smile and refill the cup. 0

The middle-aged man had no airs about him and continued in a gentle tone. 0

"I’m not here for anything in particular. I came to see how you were doing after getting hurt while protecting Jia'er. I appreciate your efforts and must trouble you further. As for what happened in the capital, it seems Jia'er is indeed a victim. As her father, I need to know what kind of person would frighten her like that." 0

At these words, Jufeng's heart tightened. This incident had always been a source of pain for him. Initially confused, he now understood from Uncle Lu's words that it was likely true. 0

Yet here he was facing an inquiry from the other party while feeling utterly speechless; now they were tied together in this matter, and Lu Qijia seemed inextricably linked to him. 0

"It was my fault. Previously, while acting as Sister Dai's bodyguard, I thought my affairs were little known and wouldn’t implicate her. I never expected it would escalate into such danger. I cannot guarantee anything; however, I will certainly risk my life to ensure Sister Dai's safety." 0

The middle-aged man gazed at Jufeng for a long time, a hint of approval in his eyes. 0

"Fortunately, you didn't sever ties with Jia'er earlier. You are indeed a thoughtful person. Hearing you say that reassures me. As for any past grievances between you or your family, I won't interfere, as long as you can take good care of Jia'er." 0

"I'm curious; it seems Jia'er really does like you tightly." 0

Once the middle-aged man stood up, he walked toward the door. Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly remembered something and turned back to Jufeng. "I know you've figured out that the previous kidnapping was Andland's idea. However, he is the son of my Family Friend, and his family has already warned him. He won't do anything reckless again. But if you happen to encounter him in the future, I hope you'll show him some mercy and spare his life. Otherwise, if my Family Friend gets involved with you, it will put me in a difficult position." 0

With that, he left. He departed as gracefully as he had come, leaving Jufeng in a state of confusion. 0

There was just one thing Jufeng couldn't quite grasp: "Jia'er really does seem to like you tightly." Was this the father-in-law's way of approving of his son-in-law? 0
