The number of Mecha Pilots at Crimson Rank is extremely limited. Fortunately, Yang Chou is one of them, but unfortunately, Chen Tan Hua is his enemy.
Even more unfortunate is that the Flower Boss does not have a Crimson Rank.
Upon witnessing Jufeng's abilities, the Flower Boss felt a chill run down his spine, leaving him with only one thought—run!
Snapping out of his shock, the Flower Boss hurriedly urged the pilots in the cockpit to take off quickly. The aircraft was already on its scheduled flight plan and took off abruptly, soaring into the sky.
Once airborne, inexplicably, the Flower Boss felt a bit more relaxed. However, he was perhaps too early in his relief, seemingly forgetting many facts.
For instance, mechas can also fly.
And furthermore, Shells can fly faster than aircraft.
"Boom!" Just moments after takeoff, the aircraft had barely been airborne for a few seconds when it was struck by artillery fire and began to wobble dangerously.
The hit aircraft teetered precariously and soon had to make an emergency landing, sliding far away from everyone's line of sight.
"Boom!" Another loud explosion echoed through the air as another brilliant firework lit up the sky. This time it struck near the aircraft's power unit, causing it to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor.
Although it was unclear which aircraft the Flower Boss was in, both were now compromised. The Heavy Mech's operational characteristic is to achieve maximum effective results with minimal Shell usage. In this context, effective results do not solely refer to destruction; given today's situation, it naturally means cutting off the Terrorists' means of escape. Thus, Ning Pangzi's choices regarding Shells and attack positions were exceptionally precise.
In the distance, an aircraft descended while nearby mechas remained intact. Seeing their leader fail to escape immediately, the Terrorists quickly dispatched a group to rush toward the emergency landing site.
Jufeng pursued like a shooting star but was entangled by several mechas that had been sent flying earlier. He had initially used extreme speed to buy time for Ning Pangzi upon arrival; now that he had lost that sudden advantage, he would need to expend some effort to shake off these mechas.
Meanwhile, the silent Showy was anything but quiet on the battlefield. Previously, he had taken just five minutes to devise a method that caused an entire Armory to collapse and be destroyed—a feat that inspired awe. Now piloting a mecha allowed him to maneuver even more effortlessly among the Terrorists, assembling explosives with ease. Before long, a complete bomb system was created.
He signaled to Vera, and the two decisively extricated themselves from the encirclement of the terrorists.
Once they had moved far enough away, Showy turned around to look at the terrorists, who were helplessly facing the bombs he had set up. His expression was calm as he fired a tracking missile from his mech, which pierced through the attempts of two terrorists to stop it and struck a bomb meant for detonation.
"Boom!" Unlike Ning Pangzi's single explosion, Showy's bombs unleashed a continuous series of sounds, reminiscent of a relentless advance, and the resulting scene was similar to Yang Chou's armory, albeit on a slightly smaller scale—a mushroom cloud shattered the terrorists' hopes.
At that moment, more than a dozen mechs in front of Jufeng were sent flying again, with less than half able to rise once more. However, despite their weakened state, they displayed a spirit of valiant sacrifice, seemingly resigned to not escaping unscathed. Even as they fell, they continued to fire upon Jufeng and his companions.
In the distance, black dots appeared in the sky again. Jufeng spotted them dodging Shell's attacks and felt a pang of alarm in his heart.
When he arrived here, he had seen Flower Boss trying to escape from two aircraft and a group of mechs, assuming there was only one armory here. But that was not necessarily true; even a cunning rabbit has three burrows. Yang Chou surely had more than one armory—how could Flower Boss possibly have just one?
Realizing this, Jufeng cursed himself for being foolish. He immediately decided not to engage with this group any longer and took to the air, leaving the Shells for Ning Pangzi to handle.
Seeing this, Vera also switched to automatic mode, her Crimson Rank accelerating as she pursued Jufeng.
In the distance, the mechs were quickly disappearing from view. Jufeng and Vera pushed forward at full speed just barely managing to catch up. The gap between Crimson Rank and other levels was vast; thus, before leaving the planet, they needed to shake off their pursuers.
To block them would mean sacrificing some brothers. The internal organization among the terrorists was exceptionally disciplined; soon after, more than ten mechs began to slow down, preparing to intercept Jufeng and Vera.
Jufeng's pupils constricted at this sight. Just as he prepared to confront them, he suddenly heard Vera's calm voice in his ear.
"You keep chasing; I'll handle this."
Jufeng nodded, seemingly forgetting that no one could notice him. Then he fell silent and transformed into a shooting star within the Mecha Group, slipping past the slowing mechs amidst their astonished gazes as he ascended higher in pursuit.
The ten or so mechs seemed unprepared for Crimson Rank's unpredictable tactics. By the time they regained their composure and were ready to pursue again, they suddenly found one mech blocking their path instead.
Vera was surrounded by a series of bright flashes as interference rounds, Tracking Missiles, and scatter shots were deployed. The rhythm and frequency of the launches were perfectly timed. Although they did not inflict fatal damage on the dozen or so mechs, they significantly disrupted their pursuit. Taking advantage of the smoke and explosions, Vera lowered her altitude once more, switching from Iron Arm to Thermal Sword. She plunged into the Mecha Group, wielding her sword with finesse, causing the Terrorists to fall one after another.
Jufeng shot straight up from Fuyou, quickly reaching the group led by Flower Boss. Unable to discern which mech was hiding where, she scattered her attacks like petals in bloom across the mechs.
The sudden engagement startled Flower Boss and his crew. The thirty or so mechs had been hidden away in the second Armory, each one a masterpiece. The elite fighters surrounding Flower Boss were all Azure Level.
However, facing Jufeng, a Crimson Rank mech, they had no chance to retaliate after eliminating the few burdensome ones. Only two mechs managed to take off into the sky while the rest stayed behind to block Jufeng.
Without Vera's assistance this time, Jufeng had to confront them alone. Yet those two mechs were already flying out of the atmosphere, disappearing from sight. In a rush of urgency, Jufeng transformed into a shooting star, shedding numerous Shells that fell into the air, leaving only an empty shell and a Thermal Sword as she soared forward.
Many Azure Level Mechas began to pursue her Shells; however, they were too late to launch Tracking Missiles and could only watch helplessly as Jufeng caught up with the two mechs. By the time they regained their composure and attempted to follow her, Jufeng had already reached them.
