Leaving the factory, Vera and Jufeng followed a Bear Guard to a nearby open square behind the trees lining A Squad's path, where dozens of helicopters were parked.
Tonight, Jufeng finally witnessed the capabilities of the Bear Guard. In a one-to-five ratio, they could easily come out on top, which was quite impressive. However, seeing this scene left him even more astonished; these bear cubs not only had incredible strength but also operated in such luxury during missions.
"Aren't you curious where my Bear Guard operates from? Now you have your answer," Vera said casually as she approached one of the helicopters while holding Blue Cat.
Jufeng nodded, thinking that wealthy people were truly extravagant. But after a moment, he seemed to realize something was off. He looked at Vera, who had already stepped onto the helicopter, and hurriedly said, "You’re not planning to leave me behind and run away, are you?"
Vera smiled lightly and gave Jufeng a thumbs-up before saying, "Since we're about to go into battle, I need to head back to prepare. You should wrap up the mess in Huaguo quickly; I'll be waiting for you in Yingguo."
Her last words were drowned out by the roar of the helicopter's rotor blades as Jufeng couldn't respond in time and watched as the helicopter slowly blended into the night.
Once the sound faded away, Jufeng muttered resentfully, "Fine, go ahead and leave. But at least leave me some money for a taxi!"
He rummaged through all his pockets only to discover a rather sad truth—his pockets were indeed emptier than his face!
Feeling dejected, he stood alone on the highway for half an hour at midnight. During that time, six cars passed by, but only the last one dared to stop.
After a long and bumpy ride back to Washing City, Jufeng got into the car, leaving the driver regretting his decision. The distance from Tong City to Washing City wasn't short. Fortunately, at the end of the journey, Jufeng generously tipped several times over what was required, which somewhat eased the driver's anxious heart.
Back in Washing City, with no time to rest, Jufeng rushed to the front lines. However, before that, he met with Chang Guohong, who was training Azure Wind Antelope.
"Brother Dong, you called for me?"
In the living room of Canglang One Floating Life, Jufeng was changing clothes when he saw Chang Guohong arrive and first inquired about Azure Wind Antelope's progress.
"Everything is going smoothly so far; all phases of training are ongoing. We currently have about fifty personnel available for rotation who can join combat at any time."
Azure Wind Antelope had adapted well to the rotation system. With an increasing number of training sessions, some individuals would inevitably be able to join combat during training since the battlefield was the best place to hone a warrior's skills. Jufeng was quite satisfied with this system that Chang Guohong had established.
Jufeng nodded at this news but then brought up another matter. He instructed, "In future training courses, include subjects related to mecha training—everything from theory to simulated operations needs to be addressed and strengthened. Continue consulting military professors; don’t slack off. Understand?"
Chang Guohong was taken aback by the words. In the battlefield within the Earth, mechs were rarely of any use; this seemed like an unnecessary effort, a futile endeavor.
However, as an excellent subordinate, Chang Guohong did not question it. Instead, Jufeng, with his keen insight, noticed Chang Guohong's unease and explained, "You haven't been to Outer Space, so you don't know the current dynamics of the Cosmos. It appears peaceful on the surface, but there are hidden dangers beneath. I have a feeling that this incident involving the Large Magellanic Cloud's terrorists is unusual, so preparing in advance might still be beneficial."
There was something else he wanted to tell Chang Guohong: to be proactive and forward-thinking. This philosophy had been imparted to him by Vera after the recent Yamamoto Clan incident.
Chang Guohong was not Bill; he lacked the ability to flatter. Otherwise, he would have praised Brother Jufeng's wisdom at that moment.
So he silently accepted his orders and Jufeng immediately headed for the front lines.
After a night of intense fighting, casualties had significantly decreased for both gangs. One side had grown accustomed to the other's tactics, while the other was naturally waiting for updates from the other two battlefields.
In warfare, capturing the leader first is crucial. Jufeng had considered assassinating Shi Yushu but quickly dismissed the idea. Firstly, since Shi Yushu had become the leader of the United Heart Association, his status had risen dramatically, and his protective forces would have increased several levels. Although Jufeng was confident he could ultimately win, it would come at a great cost. He couldn't bear to waste too many lives from Azure Wind Antelope on such a person.
Secondly, Jufeng had dealt with Shi Yushu before and understood his capabilities—he was more defensive than aggressive. The rise of the United Heart Association was largely due to its strategist and some fresh talents led by Shi Jin; thus, they were the real key players. Jufeng wouldn't act recklessly.
With the advantage of fighting on home turf and ample supplies, Hurricane achieved a victory in Qin City, forcing the United Heart Association to retreat to Tang City. Once both sides converged in one place, however, the United Heart Association was unwilling to give any ground.
As rivers collide, both sides initially matched in strength. Once one side faltered, they would merge into a single powerful current by swallowing up their opponent.
Everyone could see the profits that would come with success; thus no one could afford to take a step back—this applied to both the United Heart Association and Hurricane.
Time passed swiftly; half a month went by in an instant. Yet Tang City remained divided between both factions—either one side captured a stronghold or the other encroached upon territory. This tug-of-war had worn down Jufeng's patience.
Perhaps the United Heart Association was still waiting for results from the other two battlefields; however, Jufeng did not want to delay any longer.
Because Blazing Axe and Yamamoto Clan were already engaged in fierce combat.
...
On a night half a month later, Hurricane's command center in Tang City was filled with senior management discussing strategies and tactics. The main focus was simple: to break the stalemate.
After taking on the role of the leader of the Underworld, Zhu Mao made an indelible contribution to its development. The Underworld, built on the foundation of his Armed Team, completely inherited the traditional combat style of the Armed Team, placing great emphasis on coordination. This allowed them to consistently gain the upper hand in battles. Coupled with Zhu Mao's cautious nature, the Underworld experienced rapid advancements.
After everyone expressed their opinions, Zhu Mao shared his thoughts, which resonated with Jufeng's targeted approach, piquing Jufeng's interest.
Zhu Mao said, "Brother Jufeng, right now Shi Yushu is not here; only that strategist named Han Fan and Shi Jin are present. This is a great opportunity for us to eliminate them."
Jufeng nodded but replied, "Han Fan is very cautious. This is evident from his long-standing position as a senior official across three dynasties. Do you have any good plans?"
Upon hearing this, Zhu Mao did not rush to share his thoughts. Instead, he remained silent for a moment, confirming that his idea was feasible before slowly speaking.
"I actually have a plan."
