Crossing nearly the entire territory of Ireland, Jufeng watched as two red dots on the mech's screen gradually merged with a third red dot, and then his battle instincts suddenly tightened.
Dealing with terrorists was not a new experience for him. The memories of planets ravaged by terrorists in the Large Magellanic Cloud lingered in his mind, much like villages devastated by a flood—particularly haunting.
Jufeng was not inherently a compassionate person; rather, he was deeply humanistic. Thus, he loathed those devoid of humanity—hence Fides had met a swift end.
Now, it seemed that everything was about to repeat itself for his master.
The fusion displayed on the Nebula map, due to its altitude, actually differed by several kilometers from the real world. So Jufeng and his companion immediately descended, still needing some time to adjust their position relative to the terrorists.
They found themselves in a mountainous forest area, with rolling hills and dense jungles. Jufeng and his companion quickly concealed their mech and changed into off-road military gear, advancing toward their target using the infrared directional map on their wrists.
The mountain path was rugged and inconvenient for movement; however, for Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua, it felt as effortless as walking on flat ground—almost akin to the grand descriptions in Great Man's writings. Even a marathon champion would struggle to match their speed.
In about four kilometers, they covered the distance in just over five minutes, and neither of them was out of breath as they crouched on a hilltop, gazing intensely at the scene unfolding in the valley below.
It was nighttime now; the moonlight was refreshing, casting a faint silver glow over the valley's landscape that startled any observer.
Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua surveyed the layout and structures within the valley, compelled to admire the meticulous planning and bold ideas behind it.
There was no sense of architectural beauty; all that came into view was a flat expanse covering the entire valley.
"No wonder they can remain so hidden on Earth; they've disguised themselves underground," Chen Tan Hua remarked as he admired the smooth grassy field before them. It seemed likely that an Arms Factory was built on this artificial terrain. The camouflage appeared seamless; had it not been for the indicators on their wrists, they might have doubted whether they were at the right location.
Jufeng nodded in agreement but quickly thought of another advantage for their side.
"This is even better; it saves us trouble. As long as we hold this grassy riverbank, not a single terrorist will be able to land."
Chen Tan Hua smiled in agreement, finding Jufeng's words quite reasonable. However, time was limited for both of them; they couldn't afford to linger here chatting.
Turning off the directional map on his wrist, Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua slid down along the hillside. A special material searchlight illuminated two meters ahead of them, guarding against infrared alarms set by the terrorists.
Halfway down, both of them suddenly halted as they noticed conflicting infrared beams interweaving not far ahead.
Chen Tan Hua swept the searchlight aside; where its beam passed revealed a dense array of red lights. Most were stationary, but several flickered erratically at varying frequencies. If triggered, it would undoubtedly alert the enemy or even activate hidden traps.
Chen Tan Hua placed the Searchlight on his head, which had a fixed device, and then looked at Jufeng.
Jufeng nodded, and the two of them began to navigate through the first layer of challenges like agile Blue Cats.
The infrared rays were indeed dense; in some areas, they exceeded what an ordinary person could handle. In the most concentrated spots, there was barely enough space for half a foot within a two-meter radius. Moreover, the moving entities that swept through the night sky would occasionally appear, demanding significant attention from anyone nearby.
However, the difficulty of the environment merely served as a testament to the abilities of Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua. Jufeng's agility was always remarkable; even in Yanhuang City, where talents were abundant, he ranked among the elite. This level of difficulty only required him to take it seriously; it was hardly a significant challenge.
As for Chen Tan Hua, he excelled in flexibility and possessed an exceptionally supple body. Many places that Jufeng chose to traverse with boldness and flair, Chen Tan Hua would calmly navigate using his body's flexibility. While his movements might not be as dazzling as Jufeng's, they conserved energy effectively.
The area covered by the infrared rays was approximately fifty meters wide. If one considered the breadth as well, it would likely span several national stadiums in size.
Fortunately for Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua, their path was only about fifty meters long due to their vertical approach. After about a quarter of an hour, they successfully made it through without incident.
Describing it as "without incident" might be somewhat misleading since both were quite confident in their abilities. However, if a third party had been watching, they would undoubtedly have gasped in admiration and repeatedly exclaimed how perilous it seemed.
This was because the space available for them to pass through was indeed very cramped, making it visually striking.
As they looked back at the path they had traversed within the infrared rays, Jufeng couldn't help but joke, “As a Flowering Scholar, I just saw your movements; they looked almost like dancing. Your ranking as a Flowering Talent must have something to do with dance.”
Earlier, Jufeng had noticed Chen Tan Hua's movements for the first time and realized how flexible his body was—almost at the level of gymnastics or jiu-jitsu. It was quite rare for a man. Thus, he chose an unconventional way to express his admiration.
Hearing this, Chen Tan Hua removed the military multifunctional Searchlight from his head and responded in a similar tone to Jufeng's compliment.
“As Feng Shao, I just saw your movements; you were bouncing around like a big monkey. Didn’t your wife teach you how to behave more elegantly? Once your child is born, make sure he doesn’t learn from you; otherwise, if it’s a girl, her future will be concerning.”
Since news of Lu Qijia's pregnancy spread among their circle of friends, Jufeng had not been able to gain any verbal advantage. Whenever conversations stalled, the topic would inevitably shift to Lu Qijia and the baby, leaving him no choice but to remain silent and avoid trouble.
The two continued forward; there were still over thirty meters to go before reaching the grassy field below. However, after taking just two steps, they suddenly stopped again because another infrared ray device appeared before them, leaving both momentarily stunned.
Logically speaking, such warning devices should only be used once; using them multiple times would be pointless since anyone who successfully passed through the first layer should easily handle the second layer as well.
Yet when Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua exchanged glances, they understood Terrorist's intentions and nodded in unison, acknowledging that Terrorist indeed had some cleverness in setting up these defenses.
By common sense, after navigating through that previous perilous stretch, Chen Tan Hua should have put away his Searchlight since they already knew that their opponent wouldn’t be foolish enough to set up identical warning devices again. Thus, it would be unlikely for them to encounter another infrared ray trap here.
However, for individuals like Chen Tan Hua and Jufeng, caution or humility was deeply ingrained in their hearts. Even when facing Kangqu Road, they would take each step carefully without running. Therefore, Chen Tan Hua continued holding onto the Searchlight out of habit—a habit that ultimately aided them now.
The distance this time was very close, only ten meters, and the difficulty level had decreased significantly. It was set up merely to deal with carelessness and inattention; if one noticed it, they could naturally pass through, but if they didn’t, it could still be effective even if it wasn’t complicated.
There was still a distance of twenty meters ahead, and after the infrared rays, the second type of dangerous boundary equipment appeared.
Setting up cameras outside was necessary, but at night, they were ineffective. Even long-wave infrared cameras struggled to capture the specially designed outfits worn by Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua. Therefore, during their journey just now, neither of them had worried about the camera issue.
However, now they couldn’t help but be concerned about the several cameras just ten meters ahead because those were called Vibration Wave Cameras.
The so-called vibration wave refers to a type of vibrational frequency emitted when a sufficiently heavy object falls to the ground—something that the human body cannot perceive. Ordinary setups are designed to target humans and are typically set around forty kilograms. As long as a person steps on the ground within that range, whether they land lightly or heavily, the result is the same: they cannot evade detection by the camera.
Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua exchanged a glance, both revealing a serious expression in their eyes.
