In a secret military base, Wen Commander was intently observing the recently transmitted photographs on the projection screen. The images depicted two individuals collapsed on the street, enlarged footprints beside a pool of blood, and Gunner, who had been shot in the forehead at the entrance.
Wen Commander pointed to the last photograph and said in a low voice, "This was not caused by gunfire. Given the distance from the building, if it were a bullet, it would have exited through the skull. However, this only penetrated two centimeters into the skull; it must have been delivered with precision force."
Several of Wen Commander's subordinates were present in the room. Upon hearing their commander's analysis, they were taken aback. The thought that mere human strength could deliver such lethal force made them realize how formidable an opponent they were dealing with.
Wen Commander sneered as he stared at the final image, murmuring to himself, "It seems I've truly encountered a worthy adversary this time. I hope you won't disappoint me."
Moments later, a subordinate entered and reported, "Reporting to Wen Commander, we have found information regarding the individuals who transmitted messages to Earth eight years ago. There were two of them; aside from the deceased one, the other is named Yang Kan and is currently believed to be at Delta Star."
Upon hearing this, a wider smile spread across Wen Commander's face. He immediately issued an order: "Take action. I hope you won't let me down again this time."
At his command, everyone hurried off, leaving Wen Commander alone in the room.
The reason why those who pursued Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua held such fear of him was due to his notorious reputation within Suihuan Army. Wen Commander had an uncanny ability to detect even the slightest clues; in all his past cases, none had ended in failure.
He had once orchestrated the assassination of an Interstellar Drug Lord. The Universal Police had struggled for three months without results, but within a week of his involvement, that individual was dead.
However, what made him even more fearsome was his cold-bloodedness and cruelty. He had the opportunity to capture that drug lord alive but ultimately chose not to give him a chance and cruelly allowed his subordinates to violate his wife and daughter.
It was for this reason that he left the Universal Police and joined what was once known as the United Peace Army, now rebranded as Suihuan Army.
He lived by a personal creed—there is no such thing as fate in this world; if there is, then it should be others' fates that lie in his hands.
Because he had an interesting name.
He was called Hear the Command.
There are two types of people who often linger in bars: those who are down on their luck and those who are about to be. Whether for leisure or entertainment, they seek comfort, as you rarely see a happy family enjoying a fulfilling life spending time in a bar.
Chen Tan Hua had spent many years away from the Terrorist life, whether on Earth or in Outer Space, always pursuing matters related to Terrorists. The only place he frequently visited was the bar's lounge.
Unlike Jufeng's theory of night markets, he believed that the most valuable clues would appear in bars. Moreover, the variety of lives in a bar was far more fascinating than anything on stage or screen.
Holding his drink with utmost gentlemanly grace, Chen Tan Hua rose from his seat. One hand slipped into his pocket; despite wearing casual attire, he resembled a nobleman’s son, easily endearing himself to others, especially single women seeking a romantic encounter.
His gaze lightly swept over the various women, lingering particularly on their curves. This conveyed a signal—one that a "fated person" could instantly understand.
In his hurried search, Chen Tan Hua's discerning eye was evident; he wasn't just looking for beauty but also for someone who could assist with his big data search.
In less than two minutes, Chen Tan Hua had zeroed in on a woman, thanks to his years of experience navigating bars.
She wore a white shirt and a black leather skirt, with silver-framed glasses perched lightly on her nose, exuding an academic aura.
A scholar would undoubtedly handle such matters with ease!
“Beautiful lady, I guess this seat next to you must be taken,” he said as he approached her, pointing to the high stool beside her with a smile.
The woman looked up and instinctively adjusted her glasses before meeting Chen Tan Hua's gaze.
Chen Tan Hua was undeniably handsome and had an appealing presence, causing her to linger on his face for an extra second. Clearly not her first time being approached, she pondered his words and found them amusing. With a charming smile, she replied, “You’re right; it is indeed taken.”
If the seat next to her was occupied, then Chen Tan Hua naturally shouldn’t sit there; it was evident that his attempt at flirting had failed. Curious about how he would turn the situation around, she watched him closely.
Without hesitation, Chen Tan Hua boldly took a seat beside her, placing his glass on the bar. “Of course I would know. Just now, the Matchmaker sat here and told me he had prepared a romantic encounter for me tonight so that I could behold the beauty before me.”
The woman was momentarily taken aback by his words, but then a spark of interest lit up her eyes. Chen Tan Hua's reaction was undeniably quick; he first positioned himself at a disadvantage, then piqued the woman's curiosity, and finally resolved the crisis. It was clear he was a master at this.
However, the woman was not afraid; the more skilled someone was, the safer she felt. Her own intentions were far from innocent, and if she were looking for a romantic relationship like Bai Chongqing's, she wouldn't have chosen this place.
She smiled and continued to ask, "So, after seeing me, what do you think?"
"Beautiful! Absolutely stunning!"
When two people understand each other well, there’s no need for excessive pretense or lengthy processes. They chatted warmly for a while before leaving the bar together.
It was afternoon, and the sun was still blazing. Chen Tan Hua first took the woman for a stroll around a nearby mall, and then, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, they enjoyed a romantic dinner together. Naturally, all expenses were covered by Chen Tan Hua—more accurately, by Jufeng.
As night fell, it was time for lingering emotions. Jufeng stood outside a hotel, eating noodles he had bought from a convenience store while waiting for news from inside.
About an hour later, Chen Tan Hua hurriedly emerged from the hotel. By this time, Jufeng had switched to holding slightly cooled popcorn.
"If you hadn’t come out soon, I would have considered going in to catch you in the act," Romain said with a grin as he observed Chen Tan Hua's somewhat disheveled appearance.
Chen Tan Hua rolled his eyes at Jufeng's mischievous smile and replied helplessly, "This woman is a bit troublesome; she won't do anything unless we go to bed first. I'm not Gunner; of course, it takes some time. Come on, we have results."
Jufeng stopped teasing Chen Tan Hua and followed him to a secluded spot.
Chen Tan Hua took out his phone and opened an image before handing it to Jufeng. As Romain carefully examined it, Chen Tan Hua recalled what big data had revealed about him.
"Yang Kan indeed has an impressive background; he's in your line of work and involved in the Underworld. He formed the Wolf Fang Gang, which is already a second-tier gang in this city. When he started out, he must have spent money like water; he probably gained quite a bit from Huankezhao."
Jufeng mentally noted the face in the photo and returned the phone to Chen Tan Hua with a serious expression. "We shouldn't delay; we might have competitors. Let's take action tonight."
Chen Tan Hua agreed with this plan and nodded before leading Jufeng toward the headquarters of the Wolf Fang Gang.
As night fell, Chen Tan Hua entered the hotel. It was still early, and he got out of a taxi in a bustling district, just as people engaged in nighttime activities were beginning to emerge.
The headquarters of the Wolf Fang Gang was also a bar, the Wolf Fang Bar. Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua pretended to be ordinary patrons as they entered.
Once inside the bar, the two acted as if they were strangers, sitting in separate corners far from each other.
This was a plan they had agreed upon, intended to convince Yang Kan of their sincerity.
After about a quarter of an hour in the bar, Chen Tan Hua spotted a waitress passing by. Suddenly, he stood up and knocked over her drink, spilling it on the floor.
Seeing the startled expression on the waitress's face, Chen Tan Hua silently thought, "I'm sorry, miss. If you must blame someone, blame Jufeng; this terrible idea was all his."
