The chirping of the warblers by the poolside continued as Tony stepped back inside after a brief moment away.
"Your Highness, Commander Wen called. He has discovered news about Jufeng and their departure."
Fortunately, it wasn't too late to react; Shangguan Wangyu had already scolded him earlier and was too lazy to comment further now.
Seeing the prince remain silent, Tony continued his report, "Commander Wen asked where he should go next—whether to return to the front lines or come to Magellanic Star to assist you with the banquet preparations."
Upon hearing this, Shangguan Wangyu set his glass down on a nearby table, turned around, and leaned against the long bench. A seductive woman approached and began to massage his back.
Sunlight streamed down from behind him, and the prince fell into a long silence.
Tony understood that this was Shangguan Wangyu's unique way of thinking; he could only focus deeply when external forces helped him relax.
After a considerable time, he finally spoke slowly, "What use is it to bring him back? Reinforce? He’s like that sniper rifle of his—unused for too long, it’s all rusted. Tell him to head to the border of the Magellan Star System. If a miracle truly occurs in three days and Jufeng leaves here, I hope he can hold the last line of defense. Otherwise, he need not return to see me."
Tony was taken aback by this. It wasn't just Shangguan Wangyu's attitude toward Hear the Command; in his eyes, aside from Cao Ke, who had grown up with him, there seemed to be no one else who could enter his circle of friends. Everyone else was merely pawns that could be discarded at any moment—even himself.
What truly shocked Tony was that Shangguan Wangyu had begun preparing for contingencies for himself. This was unprecedented in their history; he had always been proud and aloof, looking down on everything. Yet now, facing Jufeng, he was unusually cautious. Was Jufeng more worthy of attention than the Universal Police?
Tony blinked slightly, and the perceptive Shangguan Wangyu caught it. He asked lightly, "Do you think I've become timid?"
Tony was startled and quickly shook his head, lowering his gaze. "I wouldn’t dare."
Shangguan Wangyu smiled gently and then lightly patted the delicate woman’s shoulder, signaling her to end the massage.
As she stood up, Shangguan Wangyu rose as well, leaving Tony silent beside them.
"Actually, I'm not worried nor have I lost confidence. It's just that along this journey, we've uncovered too much information—all related to Jufeng. Therefore, we must be cautious."
"Before the failure of the Terrorist incident, could you have imagined that one person's ability could destroy so many teams? Before the Azure Dragon Monk was captured, could you have imagined that he followed the clues to find the location of our carefully chosen Arms Factory? And now, eight years have passed, and he is still investigating our affairs. This determination may sound ridiculous, but it is truly dangerous."
"I am not afraid of people, but I do believe in fate. If I am destined to be the king of this Cosmos, then he must be the most stubborn stone on my path to the throne. Such a stone is destined to become my stepping stone, to be trampled underfoot, yet it will not simply fail. If that were the case, what meaning would life hold?"
"Therefore, I am really looking forward to seeing how Jufeng will navigate through this current crisis."
Tony felt a chill run down his spine and couldn't help but feel some sympathy for Jufeng.
It turned out that Shangguan Wangyu had always treated Jufeng as a plaything. What could be more terrifying than that?
At the headquarters of Zongheng Express Company, Liu Gulang came and went, closely followed by Old Horse.
"Brother Jufeng, we expect to complete twenty mechs; the rest of the Brothers will have to rely on Huankezhao's equipment. There’s good news: all of President Guo's information and resources can be transferred within two days using internal channels from the Suihuan Army. Even if Shangguan Wangyu racked his brains, he wouldn’t discover any vulnerabilities in his own walls."
Liu Gulang finally showed a hint of joy amidst the seriousness and said excitedly. Zongheng Express had developed in the Large Magellanic Cloud for eight years; its foundation and wealth were no longer what they were when they first arrived. Although the Suihuan Army was Huankezhao's force, it could not guard against anyone's thirst for money. No one can satisfy everyone, but everyone has needs; the imbalance between supply and demand leads to opportunities.
Liu Gulang and Guo Hua cleverly seized this opportunity.
Jufeng nodded at this news; it had been heavy tidings until now, making this good outcome rare.
Old Horse spoke from behind Jufeng: "Brother Jufeng, Cao Ke has already returned home; it seems he is preparing defenses early. The people we send to rescue Third Sister should be few but elite."
Cao Ke's reputation was too loud throughout the Cosmos, which forced Old Horse to overstep his duties slightly and presumptuously offer advice to Jufeng.
Jufeng thought for a moment and then asked, "Will Cao Ke attend the banquet?"
Old Horse nodded, glancing at Liu Gulang before saying, "Cao Ke has long admired Jiang Xuejie; it has become a well-known story within Huankezhao and business circles. Unfortunately, Miss Jiang Xue has always kept her distance and is rarely apart from Wenming. Thus, Cao Ke and Wenming have almost become enemies. At such a significant event where prominent figures from the Cosmos gather, Cao Ke will certainly seize this opportunity and will definitely be present."
Jufeng listened and felt reassured. He then gave Liu Gulang and Old Horse a comforting nod, saying, "Don't worry, rescuing Eldest Sister doesn't require all of your manpower. Quality over quantity; I believe one person will be enough. Perhaps we can even lure Cao Ke back home, which would give us a better chance against Shangguan Wangyu."
Liu Gulang and Old Horse exchanged glances. Until now, they had no idea who this mysterious individual Jufeng was referring to for the rescue of Wen Yun, nor how formidable that person might be.
However, since Jufeng was confident, it seemed there would be no issues.
"In fact, there's no need to worry too much. The employees at the company have been generously compensated for their dismissal, and with the current chaos, we shouldn't let them leave without any means to support themselves. Those who will take action should also have their relocation expenses prepared in advance. Old Horse, you stay here for now; once everything is settled and the situation calms down, you can leave."
"Destiny has already intertwined my fate with Shangguan Wangyu through so many battles, all of which I have won. I believe this time will be no different!"
Upon hearing this, Liu Gulang and Old Horse felt a surge of confidence, their fighting spirit ignited. With Jufeng around, they had their anchor in the storm. At this Hongmen Banquet, they would surely carry on the legacy of history!
