The so-called Simulation Laboratory is a fully immersive experimental space. Here, the battles of mechs can be experienced in every detail, indistinguishable from a real battlefield, except for the absence of bloodshed and sacrifice.
Previously, when Huankezhao was designing mechs for Jufeng at Gong Changsheng's base, they used a simplified version of the simulation room. However, this laboratory at Universal Manufacturing Headquarters could be the most advanced in the universe, with a simulation accuracy of an astounding ninety-nine percent.
The control panel in front of Jiang Xue is connected to the civilization simulator, while Shangguan Wangyu's is naturally linked to Cao Ke. They are using the standard configuration provided by Huankezhao for Red-Class Mecha Pilots, which is top-tier at the Cosmos level.
However, the chip that Jiang Xue inserted earlier contains configurations that she developed entirely on her own. Naturally, many aspects are identical to the standard configuration, but there are also numerous differences.
Just two days ago, she completed her project and received accolades. Yet now, for Jiang Xue, this is truly the final examination to assess her achievements.
Both of them pressed the start button simultaneously, and a top-tier mech battle was about to commence.
From this day forward, it would surely be this peak confrontation that would make headlines. One could even imagine that on the front pages of major media outlets, in the most prominent positions, there would be images of two mechs facing off against each other, with scenes of chaos and flames from civilization and Cao Ke below.
In the venue on the first floor, everyone was silent and still; one could hear a pin drop. The only flaw might be the lack of rows of chairs, as suddenly the lights went out to create a cinematic atmosphere.
A woman in a White Lace Sheer Long Dress walked gracefully to the young man who had encountered Jufeng. She naturally linked her delicate hand around his arm and nestled against his shoulder.
"Star, do you think your civilization will win? I really like this guy; he's quiet and not showy like you."
The young man had a dreamlike name—Star—which sounded slightly feminine and matched his seemingly frivolous demeanor.
"You like fairy tales and fables, as well as those true stories compiled by children's authors, but reality is not just printed words on a page. If the gap between lower and middle Crimson Rank can truly be bridged by mech design technology, then who will those hard-working pilots turn to for reasoning? Of course, I do not deny the importance of technological advancement in enhancing mech capabilities; it's just that we have yet to reach our expectations."
"Moreover, you like civilization, but civilization likes Jiang Xue. Just look at Jiang Xue's figure, her looks, her gaze—then look at yourself. Don't you feel overshadowed?"
This conversation took place between two lovers intimately linked by their arms; one can imagine how amusingly cute it was. Upon hearing this, the woman pouted her cherry lips and playfully pinched Star's arm hard enough to make him feel "miserable."
In truth, she and Jiang Xue were two different types of girls with their own strengths; it wasn't as exaggerated as Star suggested. Around them stood almost no one; some were fearful while others deliberately avoided them for reasons unknown.
As Star teased the woman, suddenly two mech images appeared on the enormous virtual screen. One was familiar to everyone—it was Huankezhao's custom mech designed specifically for Red-Class Mecha Pilots.
Every Crimson-Class Mecha has its own unique name: Vera's white mech is called Blue Cat; Jufeng's mech is named Hurricane; and Cao Ke's exclusive mech is even more renowned due to its battle history.
It had a resounding name that perfectly embodied its essence—War God.
The God of Battle, the Invincible War God.
In front of Cao Ke's War God, a brand new mech slowly emerged. Those familiar with civilization couldn't help but gasp in surprise upon seeing it, expressing their confusion.
The mech that appeared was unlike the typical designs commonly used by civilization; many parts had been altered to the point where its previous form was unrecognizable.
This was the mech crafted specifically for civilization by Jiang Xue, infused with the dedication and effort of Jiang Xue and Eight Years.
It had a refreshing name, not as striking as Cao Ke's War God, but uniquely clever.
Star!
Not a star from the entertainment industry, but rather the Morning Star often seen on Earth.
It symbolized the opening of light.
The two mechs stood silently opposite each other on the screen, set against a distant sandy landscape with undulating dunes, and in the far background was the Azure Sky, a canvas of clear blue.
They stood still for a better activation. Suddenly, two roars echoed above the venue. Despite efforts to reduce the volume to avoid disturbing the guests, the resonating vibrations could not be suppressed.
It felt as if they were striking heavily against everyone's hearts.
Star exaggeratedly placed a hand over his heart and muttered, "These two freaks are making such a big commotion!"
The roaring signaled the activation of the mechs, deliberately creating an atmosphere. Once activated, they naturally began to move; after moving came running—wildly and swiftly.
Initially separated by a hundred meters, it seemed that in an instant, the two mechs met. Before anyone could blink, the tranquil aftermath lingered in the air before an explosive collision unfolded.
Weighing several tons and propelled by their incredible speed, when they collided suddenly, the force was explosive. Even a sturdy Universal Building would tremble under such impact; however, within the mechs, the two pilots remained calm and composed.
Cao Ke had long regarded such impacts as a part of daily life. Since childhood, he had grown up alongside mechs, and by his teenage years, he had already achieved Crimson Rank, an unprecedented feat for someone so young.
By the time he reached his thirties, he had spent about half of that time engaged in fierce battles. Starting from Scarlet Level and culminating in Crimson Rank, countless mech masters and talents had fallen to him. If all those who had been defeated were gathered together, it would likely be more lively than the venue downstairs.
Thus, based on these years of experience, he did not even consider the force of the impact; instead, he focused all his energy on the impending storm of attacks.
With calm eyes and steady hands, he operated with the precision of a true mech warrior. Even at Crimson Rank, he still relied on numerical control buttons. The number of commands issued per minute was astonishingly high, so much so that after the collision, while still suspended in mid-air, a grenade and a thermal sword struck Civilization.
At this moment, many Azure Level fighters were still struggling to regain their balance. Faced with such an assault, most Azure Level opponents had already been defeated, left to endure the impact of the shell and thermal sword upon themselves.
And how would Civilization respond?
