Inside the Data Room, Jiang Xue looked at Shangguan Wangyu, whose expression had rarely changed, and spoke coldly.
Despite her groundbreaking achievements in research that would undoubtedly overturn all mech configurations and update all mech manuals, she still couldn't feel even a hint of happiness. This was because the results were to be shared with Huankezhao; without sharing, she wouldn't even be able to take her findings out of the building.

Shangguan Wangyu stared at Jiang Xue, and after a moment, his expression gradually softened. However, his brow was no longer as relaxed as before, mixed with a hint of confusion.
"I want to know what you have installed on the civilized mechs. Even if you can release this Shortwave, the key issue still lies in the configuration of the civilized mechs; otherwise, you wouldn't be able to control Cao Ke's War God."
Jiang Xue's heart trembled. She had thought she could keep this matter slightly hidden from Huankezhao but didn't expect Shangguan Wangyu to hit upon the key point so quickly.

When Shangguan Wangyu spoke those last words, his tone turned slightly cold.
Inside the Simulation Chamber, Cao Ke sensed what had just transpired with the civilized mechs and was utterly shocked. It took him some time to gradually come back to himself before he couldn't help but smile wryly.
Just now, Jiang Xue's research on Micro-Mechanism was already groundbreaking, but compared to the current Shortwave control, it was like comparing a witch to a sorcerer, utterly different.
Perhaps she would reach the pinnacle of scientific research and look down upon the world.
She was always so outstanding, forever independent from the mundane.
It was just a pity that she ultimately did not belong to me.
Cao Ke shook his head and then said to Civilization, "Alright, let's call today's battle to a halt. I admit that Xue's research can indeed reverse your disadvantage, but don't forget. Your Shell has limitations in distance and time, as well as in quantity. If this turns into a war of attrition, you will still be the one to lose in the end. However, I don't want to waste any more time on meaningless endeavors; let's end this match in a draw."
Civilization fell silent again, offering no response because he understood Cao Ke's words. Jiang Xue's recent findings were still in need of refinement; her current state was insufficient to defeat Cao Ke.
Shangguan Wangyu had already made plans upon hearing Cao Ke's words. He turned to Jufeng and said, "Jiang Xue has bought you some time, but since it's just a draw, we can only reduce the conditions for your release by half. How about this: the two women can leave first, while you and Civilization stay behind and rely on your strength to exit."
Jiang Xue lifted her head, her face filled with indignation, ready to say something, but she was stopped by Jufeng.
Jufeng stepped forward, pulling Jiang Xue behind him to stand alongside Vera. He smiled and said, "Don't worry; this isn't our first collaboration with Civilization. We will leave safely. Since Brother Shangguan intends to play this game, we will accompany him until the end."
"Vera, please take care of Xue."
Vera initially planned to refuse and stay with Jufeng, but seeing the determination in his eyes made her realize he had made up his mind.
What it meant to respect one's man’s opinion was clear. Even if the final outcome led them apart, she would follow him without hesitation.
Moreover, she had unwavering confidence in Jufeng.
Nodding heavily, her silence spoke volumes as she took Jiang Xue's hand and led her out of the Data Room. They left the fifth floor and arrived at the hall.
The virtual screens had vanished; everything returned to normal. Tony stood at the front desk of the hall announcing the results of the draw.
Everyone found it rather perplexing; clearly, victory or defeat was uncertain. Why did some strange actions occur midway only for it to end in a draw?
However, the doubts were only temporary; the banquet continued. Many business deals were struck at the dining table, so the merchants revealed their true nature, focusing intently on building connections.
Vera led Jiang Xue through the hall, barely stopping to return greetings to those they passed, hurrying outside.
Just as they left the confines of Huankezhao and reached an open area in front of the building, Tony suddenly appeared with a group of men in black, blocking Vera and Jiang Xue's path.
"What do you mean by this? Shangguan Wangyu clearly promised me! Is the esteemed prince of Huankezhao really going back on his word?" Jiang Xue glared at Tony, her anger palpable.
Tony felt a bit embarrassed, but in the face of the prince's pressure, he could only helplessly comply.
"The prince only promised you could leave Huankezhao. Now that you have left, we can naturally take action. Unless you return to Huankezhao, no one will interfere with you."
"You!" Jiang Xue's face flushed with anger, momentarily at a loss for words.
At that moment, a large group of children suddenly ran over from a distance and appeared in front of the men in black. Several of them grabbed onto one man, shouting for candy, leaving the black-clad figures bewildered.
This unexpected scene startled Tony. Vera took the opportunity to glance around and spotted Sisi waving at her. She quickly pulled Jiang Xue toward her.
Seeing Vera and Jiang Xue about to disappear from view, Tony grew anxious and hurriedly urged his subordinates to chase after them. However, with a hundred children blocking their way, they found themselves at a loss against the kids and could only watch helplessly as Vera and Jiang Xue vanished.
On the fifth floor of Huankezhao, Cao Ke stood beside Shangguan Wangyu, watching Jufeng and Civilization disappear into the laboratory. He slowly spoke up.
"I still stand by my words; Jufeng cannot be left alive. With your current strength, it will be very difficult to keep him."
Shangguan Wangyu smiled slightly and replied, "That doesn't matter. Even if he truly leaves now, so what? We have already grasped Jiang Xue's research. On a broader battlefield, can Jufeng really contend with an army?"
Cao Ke fell silent at this. Although he knew Shangguan Wangyu was right, he couldn't shake off the feeling that Jufeng was too dangerous.
This instinct stemmed solely from having seen both his photograph and his real self.
As he was deep in thought, a disciple of Huankezhao suddenly came to report.
"Your Highness, General Cao's household has sent word that Young Master Cao Shuang has unfortunately met with an accident."
Cao Ke was taken aback by the news, and then he couldn't help but let out a self-deprecating laugh as he walked outside, continuing to speak to Shangguan Wangyu.
"I'll go over. He truly is a dangerous character. I hope you won't regret today's decision in the future."
Shangguan Wangyu watched Cao Ke's figure disappear, processing the news delivered by his subordinate, a smile lingering on his lips.
The smile was playful, contemplative and silent.
