Hear the Command As the screen turned pitch black, the smile on his face instantly morphed into a sinister expression, as if thunder could strike and rain would pour.
The few subordinates behind him exchanged glances, falling silent and lowering their heads even further.
“Go out and tell your men that tonight, even if you have to dig three feet into the ground, you must find them. It’s utterly disgraceful that two out of a thousand managed to escape. You might as well die for this failure.”
The word "die" seemed to come from the mouth of the Grim Reaper, carrying a chilling coldness that penetrated to the bone.
Several subordinates immediately took their leave, eager to escape the oppressive atmosphere.
Long Night The long night dragged on as Jufeng and Vera moved through several locations, still disturbed and unable to find peace.
As dawn approached, over two thousand people had gone without sleep, and the entire neighborhood was restless and weary.
Not to mention Jufeng and his companion.
At a high vantage point, Jufeng and Vera found themselves in a place that was either the most dangerous or the safest; it was very close to the city center, usually the most densely populated area, which perhaps made it relatively safer now.
Looking at the fully armed elite of the Suihuan Army lying unconscious not far ahead, Jufeng felt a sense of melancholy.
“It’s tragic that soldiers who should be fighting against violence on the battlefield are instead engaged in private, unspeakable dealings here.”
Vera chose not to comfort Jufeng, knowing he understood the situation; he just needed to vent his frustrations appropriately.
Shifting his gaze, Vera noticed a Sniper Rifle beside one of the Suihuan Army soldiers, feeling a pang of concern.
“They’ve already deployed snipers. We don’t even know how many more are lurking throughout the city. This puts us in great danger.”
Vera’s worry stemmed from the Global Positioning System. This system could utilize every connected camera to capture necessary visual information. Even if just one of millions of cameras caught sight of them, it could immediately relay feedback to every sniper's targeting glasses. If they were within a sniper's range, there would be no hesitation in taking aim.
If snipers were scattered throughout the city, where could Jufeng and Vera possibly escape?
Dawn was truly drawing closer; light would soon break through, making faces clearer in its glow.
This should have been a good thing, but here it had turned into a perilous situation.
Jufeng listened to Vera's words, turning to gaze over the city, his fists clenching tightly.
Vera slowly wrapped her arms around Jufeng from behind, whispering, "Don't worry, Wind. I will be with you, always together."

As dawn broke from the east, resembling Earth in many ways, Hear the Command listened to reports from his subordinates, raising an eyebrow in surprise.
He never expected that Jufeng would choose such a method to make his presence known—he had entered an Administrative Building and taken hostage a dozen government officials who were working overtime, then sent out a message demanding Hear the Command come out to negotiate.
Hear the Command watched the screen showing the entrance of the government building, where countless police officers had begun to take their positions. Naturally, there were also more members of the Suihuan Army's Gunner unit weaving through the crowd, remaining silent for a long time.
He was proud and eccentric in nature, but having survived until now was not solely due to Shangguan Wangyu's recognition; more importantly, it was his cunning that kept him alive. He pondered what Jufeng's purpose was in making such a choice.
He believed in taking no futile actions; this was his guiding principle.
After a while, he turned to one of his subordinates and asked gravely, "Are all the snipers still in their original positions?"
The subordinate turned to check and nodded in response.
Hearing this only deepened Hear the Command's confusion. What could have driven Jufeng to choose such a desperate course of action?
Unable to comprehend it, curiosity began to take hold.
Curiosity killed the cat; that was simply a cat's fate.
Before long, Shangguan Wangyu's call came through. Hear the Command could no longer hesitate; the situation had begun to spiral beyond his control. With a dozen government officials held hostage, if not handled properly, it would have a significant impact on the regime that Shangguan Wangyu had established.
Zhan Xingzi was still vying for power against him, so this incident would only add fuel to the fire for Shangguan Wangyu.
Hear the Command cursed Jufeng under his breath and reluctantly left the command room, making his way to the entrance of the building.
Inside, Jufeng was at a concealed spot no longer within sniper range. With Hear the Command's arrival, Jufeng could no longer hide.
Because of the cautious nature of Hear the Command, he refused to move even an inch.
Jufeng appeared at the door, standing still for two seconds. However, without saying a word, he suddenly stepped back half a meter, and the glass revolving door behind him shattered with a crash.
The onlookers gasped in shock as Jufeng quickly darted inside the room, and sunlight streamed in, accompanied by loud and chaotic screams.
This was because Jufeng was sweeping the area with a handgun.
Finally, he looked at one of the women and said apologetically, "I need your help."
The woman was so frightened that she was at a loss for what to do, only hoping to save her life but unsure how to respond.
Without waiting for her answer, Jufeng swiftly drew a knife and pressed it against her neck. In an instant, he ruthlessly cut his own palm, blood immediately flowing out.
The crowd stared at Jufeng in confusion, not understanding the meaning behind his actions.
Who would harm themselves like a terrorist? Could this person be mentally unstable? But he didn't seem that way.
As time passed without any resolution, the crowd forgot their fear and screams.
Jufeng wiped his blood on the woman's neck and then pushed her into a position where those outside could see her but dared not enter.
"You dare to arrange for a sniper? I have already torn up the ticket; you must send Hear the Command to negotiate with me, or I will start a massacre."
Jufeng's voice clearly reached every onlooker's ears, including those of Shangguan Wangyu and Hear the Command's spies.
Half a minute later, Shangguan Wangyu's phone rang again beside Hear the Command.
The unease in Hear the Command's heart intensified, but faced with pressure, he had no choice but to compromise.
After confirming safety multiple times, Hear the Command gritted his teeth and stepped out.
" Jufeng, don't you think what you're doing is ridiculous? At this distance, you can't kill me. Do you really think I would do something like launch an External Missile?"
As the words of "Hear the Command" echoed in the air, suddenly, from an unknown height, a bullet descended right before "Hear the Command."
It pierced through.
In his final moments, a disdainful smile remained on "Hear the Command's" face.
At the instant the bullet arrived, Jufeng's figure vanished without a trace.
Only a single sentence lingered, directed at "Hear the Command," but it was too late for him to hear it.
"If fate has destined us to be enemies, then your life is destined to end."
