Jufeng listened intently for a moment before shaking his head, indicating he had found nothing unusual.
But why did they suddenly stop in their tracks?
Jufeng scanned the surroundings and then spoke to Vera in a barely audible voice, "I sense something is off. Why is the defense inside so much laxer than outside? The renowned Xiao Ji shouldn't make such a mistake."
Vera felt a chill run down her spine at Jufeng's reminder. After passing the first layer of defense, people's vigilance tends to wane, and they subconsciously overlook such changes. Fortunately, Jufeng had kept his thoughts to himself and noticed this issue.
"What should we do? Retreat?"
Vera's gaze swept around, taking in the thick darkness of the night, which felt eerily silent, as if they were trapped in a snare.
Jufeng pondered for a moment, then pulled Vera up and suddenly leaped to the side. After a few bounds, they disappeared into the thicket.
Watching the figures vanish from the screen, the young girl who had just spoken gasped in shock and hurriedly said to Xiao Ji, "General, did you see how they disappeared? Did they discover us?"
Xiao Ji had also noticed the situation. She had just ordered the soldiers to relax their guard and was surprised that Jufeng had caught on to something. Now that no one was watching nearby, she truly had no idea where they had gone.

Vera now understood Xiao Ji's intentions. Delving this deep without any information was more than just unusual; it was clear that their actions had been exposed, and Xiao Ji had already discovered them.

Though his aim was not precise, he was still armed with a submachine gun and grenades. Once in position, he accurately tossed a Shell into the command room. A deafening explosion followed, shaking the very ground beneath him.
The guards nearby were taken aback; they were on high alert but had no idea when the enemy had managed to reach their doorstep. It was a profound humiliation.
As one of the five Dragon Head Armies, the Scorpion Army was not to be underestimated. Just after Romain threw the bomb, an experienced veteran quickly pinpointed Romain's location, unleashing a hail of bullets in his direction.
If it were an ordinary soldier, he would have perished in the all-encompassing rain of bullets. Sacrificing himself to take out the command center, leaving chaos in his wake, could be considered a significant achievement.
However, Jufeng was no ordinary person. The moment the bomb left his hand, he had already vacated the area. By the time the shockwave from the explosion began to ripple through, he was long gone from that position.
Thus, the barrage of bullets rained down on empty space for over ten seconds.
As the sound of the explosion faded, personnel from the command center rushed out, but unfortunately, they were all men; there was no sign of Xiao Ji.
In a moment, a sharp voice rang out, cold as ice.
