Australia, surrounded by the sea, is located between the South Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean, boasting a superior geographical position. What excites Zheng Yifan the most is that the entire landmass is one country. Another reason why Australia holds significant appeal is its lack of weapons of mass destruction; its location makes it nearly impossible for war to reach Australia.
Given such favorable conditions, Zheng Yifan could not possibly choose another place. A stable rear allows him to gradually unite the world as one.
Standing by the sea, he gazes at the vast ocean before him. Behind him lies Australia, a natural environment so incredible that Zheng Yifan can hardly believe it. Even after two years in the Apocalyptic World, nothing compares to Australia's pristine nature. What pleases Zheng Yifan even more are the people—or rather, the Zombies—here. Since he is by the seaside, many travelers in this post-apocalyptic era are around. He can see groups of Zombies wandering nearby, and in the distance, he can hear gunfire and catch a whiff of gunpowder.
These Zombies have begun to evolve into aquatic forms, making them weak fighters on land.
Zheng Yifan doesn’t even need to lift a finger; the first batch of warriors around him descends gradually from above, like white mushrooms in the sky. Their roars are a release from the oppression they have endured for so long.
Now that the apocalypse has arrived, they no longer need to suppress themselves; the future is one of endless combat.
Upon landing, they immediately start clearing out Zombies to secure the battlefield for their comrades. A few unfortunate souls land right above a group of Zombies.
But that’s alright. They all carry firearms and will clear out any Zombies beneath them before touching down.
Those ugly Fellows no longer embody the allure of the Post-Apocalypse. After all, being by the sea, it seems like a vacation spot. Most of the Zombies here are dressed in Bikinis and Board Shorts.
However, they are now just grotesque Zombies.
The warriors handle clearing out Zombies with ease; they have executed such missions before, though now there are simply more Zombies to deal with.
No matter; as long as there are Zombies, they will have work and an endless supply of resources to enjoy.
What excited them even more was the surrounding environment and the fish in the ocean. It was puzzling why there were no wild beasts on this planet, only humans and Zombies.
As a result, the entire world seemed to lack challenge. Even if Zheng Yifan did not step forward himself, there would still be bold heroes emerging in the days to come. Perhaps a thug or a high school student could become a Big Shot in their own right.
However, with Zheng Yifan here, they could all take a back seat, for Zheng Yifan possessed the most elite power and warriors at his command.
Before him lay a vast continent, over seven million square kilometers of land that would soon change hands.
"Charge!" The frenzied shouts rallied everyone as their target was the docks. The docks were meant to clear obstacles and welcome ships from around the world, while the airport was to ensure that the first batch of Combatants arrived as quickly as possible.
After all, it was a country with its own foundation. However, the estimated population was only around twenty million, and with tourists included, it might reach thirty million at most. In truth, if the population were dense enough, Zheng Yifan could handle it himself.
Yet in reality, Australia's population was quite dispersed, and people lived very peacefully. This troubled Zheng Yifan; however, he ultimately set this matter aside and entrusted it to Berry and the others. His sole focus was to connect the Supercomputer with Wang Luo and find a reliable location to set up this equipment.
Everything had proven that Zheng Yifan needed a network interface and a secure place.
Most importantly, he wanted to have the means to construct buildings underground so that he could transfer all the equipment from the Apocalyptic World over.
This was merely an idea for Zheng Yifan; if execution only required connecting to the network, he decided to set his sights on Canberra.
After all, it was Australia’s capital. Although it might have been a former capital, there was no doubt that it had relatively complete supporting facilities. Any essential equipment for living was fully equipped there. The population there was even just a few hundred thousand. When Zheng Yifan first learned about this, he thought he had misheard. A capital city with fewer than four hundred thousand people? Cleaning up such a city wouldn't take him much time at all; moreover, there would be Survivors too.
Such a place was indeed the capital of a country.
With Zheng Yifan's goal set, he would leave other matters to Berry. The most important task now was to clear the harbor.
Parachutes descended one by one as Zheng Yifan watched them clear the area of Zombies. Once the area was secure, they regrouped, their positions visible on the equipment they carried. Zheng Yifan's location was marked by a bright red dot, even more prominent than the others.
When everyone had gathered, Zheng Yifan finally broke into a happy smile.
All 1,000 personnel had arrived without a single casualty, which was the best outcome possible. Zheng Yifan had initially prepared for up to 100 deaths, as no one could predict who might encounter unfavorable winds or storms. They had flown in without any weather forecasts, and it was entirely possible that the entire plane could have been lost.
However, they had reached their destination successfully. Only a few planes encountered difficulties along the way, but under the skillful control of the pilots, each aircraft managed to arrive safely and deploy their paratroopers.
Some of them had never even attempted parachuting before; this was their first time. They had only learned when to pull the parachute cord and executed it without hesitation.
Despite this, they all survived—perhaps it was just their good luck.
“Everyone pay attention! Follow me closely. We need to secure the area and seize enough vehicles. Drive to the port. This is our first port capture, and we only have two hours before we need to move out. You must be quick!” Zheng Yifan announced loudly, informing them of their next objective.
Now that they were here, they needed to clear out a port large enough to accommodate an Aircraft Carrier.
The target was set on Port Pirie, which boasted Australia’s largest newly constructed deep-water harbor. (To be continued…)
