The Eighteen Fists of Calamity were not something one could easily endure. In an instant, Zheng Yifan felt as if his entire body was collapsing. The ground of the Shadow World seemed to become incredibly fragile, shattering into pieces.
A chill ran through Zheng Yifan's heart as he realized that this was a trap. This was not a stable Shadow World; it was a fragmented realm. As soon as one entered, the calamity from outside would destroy this world, and even if Zheng Yifan were to be reincarnated as a Great Luo Golden Immortal, he would still perish within.
It was a simple scheme—or perhaps an overt one—because by the time Zheng Yifan reacted, the calamity had intended to throw him inside rather than enter itself. It aimed to resolve things with brute force; an ordinary attack might not have forced him in. But now, there was no choice.
Fortunately, Zheng Yifan had prepared in advance, so he was not in immediate danger.
However, after enduring the Eighteen Fists, most of his internal body was damaged, and the power continued to surge within him. He needed to release that power entirely, but he found himself unable to do so at the moment.
Although the calamity had been struck, if Zheng Yifan did not attack next and eliminate this troublesome Fellow in one go, he would not fare well either.
The calamity was powerful; it wielded Seventh Level strength. Now, with ten souls lost due to Zheng Yifan's relentless assault and Old Turtle Xira having bitten through its throat, this outcome had come to pass.
There was hardly any time for thought. Zheng Yifan's eyes turned red as his hands flew into action. The Silver Spear transformed into a stream of light, its speed astonishing and its lethality immense. Within a second, Zheng Yifan unleashed all his attacks.
Shooting forth!
Green Zombie Fluid erupted from the calamity's body. This liquid, invaluable to Zombies, might not hold the same worth for the calamity or could mean something entirely different for it.
But it didn’t matter; it left all the red blood within its body while only the green Zombie Fluid gushed out, along with a glowing green object.
Zheng Yifan saw it clearly—it was the Primordial Pearl, the calamity's Primordial Pearl.
No!
Perhaps it could be called the Zombie Crystal!
Because what Zheng Yifan saw, the Primordial Pearl, was almost identical to the Zombie Crystal, only even more beautiful.
It was like the most exquisite gem in the world. Words could no longer describe its beauty.
As long as he took this crystal away, Jie would undoubtedly perish.
Zheng Yifan knew that whether a person was alive or a Zombie didn't matter; the essence of power within their bodies was what truly counted. If his arm were severed, it wouldn't matter, as Superpowered Individuals could recover. However, the Primordial Pearl was something that absolutely could not be lost.
Just like Jie now, who suddenly went mad trying to protect the Zombie Crystal.
Zheng Yifan would not let him succeed. Without a second thought, he threw a powerful punch at Jie's face. With a swift motion of his right hand, he grasped the Zombie Crystal and quickly retreated.
He had to be on guard against Jie trying to snatch it back.
Sure enough, as soon as his body lost the Zombie Crystal, it began to transform into a liquid form. However, he still possessed Vital Energy for the time being; he could make one last stand.
This was the confidence of a Seventh Level powerhouse. Even in death, they could continue to linger for a while longer.
But Zheng Yifan gave him no chance. With a push of his right leg, he swiftly fled.
As Zheng Yifan left, a strange smile appeared on Jie's face.
As soon as the smile appeared, Zheng Yifan felt that something was about to go wrong.
Jie looked at Zheng Yifan, his legs swaying slightly, and his body paused for a moment—perhaps just a fraction of a second—before he suddenly shot up into the air, slowly transforming into fine particles, his entire form beginning to disintegrate.
"It's over!" Zheng Yifan thought as he watched Jie’s figure gradually vanish, a suspicion forming in his mind.
Jie's superpower wasn’t that wave; that wave was merely a method of exertion or perhaps similar to his own ability to use someone else's Primordial Pearl as his own treasure.
Jie's superpower was actually the ability to turn his body into the smallest molecules and then disperse and escape.
It was like those vampires in movies who transform into bats after being struck, but Jie took it a step further—who could catch him when he became such fine particles? Would one need a microscope to pursue him?
That seemed unreliable.
Although many thoughts raced through Zheng Yifan's mind, the Silver Spear in his hand had already begun to spin.
It rotated continuously in front of his body, generating airflow, power, and amplifying Vital Energy.
Zheng Yifan poured all his strength into the rotation. This motion alone was enough; an increasingly powerful storm began to form before him. Due to the Vital Energy, this storm grew even more ferocious. When Zheng Yifan's power reached its peak, it suddenly halted.
In an instant, a tornado erupted from the Silver Spear in Zheng Yifan's hand, shredding the fragments of air around him.
Zheng Yifan seemed to hear Jie’s roar in the air, but then he felt nothing at all.
He knew that the thief had ultimately escaped, and he had done so swiftly. Thoroughly. The next time they met, it could very well lead to endless slaughter.
If that Fellow truly decided to be ruthless and harass the Hope Gathering Place, Zheng Yifan would have no way to deal with him.
Currently, Zheng Yifan's true strength was inferior to that of the thief, not to mention that this Fellow could now slip away or infiltrate unnoticed.
With an additional potential troublemaker on his hands, Zheng Yifan needed to resolve his own issues first. He moved slightly, and it felt as if his body was falling apart; the turbulent energy within him continued to surge, a remnant of the thief's attack, as if it were perpetually assaulting Zheng Yifan.
It was relentless. If Zheng Yifan couldn't find a way to resolve this, he might very well be worn down.
However, he had gained some experience from a previous encounter. In such situations, placing things into Storage Space could solve the problem; that force would be obliterated by the immense power of a planet.
Zheng Yifan chose to enter the Time-Space Barrier.
He should also exchange some items from the First Era of Primordial Energy and see what he could obtain.
Those were valuable items.
But he would have to wait until he returned to the Gathering Place because he didn't know how many Zombie Crystal s had been stored there. The Gathering Place had maps obtained from Treasure Earthworms; he wondered how much they had found. Although many of them lacked the Superpower that Zheng Yifan possessed and did not have Storage Space, having more Superpowers always provided a way. Just like Zhou Rui, who could silently enter and gather items as if moving ants from one place to another. (To be continued...)
