The Mysterious Building on the 14th Floor

Back in 1993, the Daily News Building was still under construction. One afternoon, while everyone else had gone out for lunch, a female worker from the countryside remained on site, determined to finish her tasks before asking the Foreman for leave.
Unexpectedly, an accident occurred. She accidentally stepped on a plank, causing the unsupported side to flip up. In an instant, she lost her balance and fell.
She plummeted down.
At that time, the rooftop on the 14th floor had just been poured with concrete. She landed directly in the wet cement, and with no points of support, she quickly sank into the thick mire.
She struggled desperately and cried for help, but at over twenty stories high, combined with the deafening noise of machinery on the construction site, no one could hear her.
Gradually, exhaustion took over, and she succumbed to despair as she sank deeper into the pit of cement, leaving no trace behind.
When her absence was finally noticed, it was reported to the Foreman.
However, the Foreman believed she had intended to take leave all along. He thought she had left early or had family matters to attend to.
From that point on, no one ever knew she had died there.
After some time, the building was finally completed, and soon after, the Daily News Group moved in. That’s when the terrifying haunting incidents began to unfold.
Many employees reported that whenever they took the elevator down after work, it would inexplicably stop at the 14th floor. The entire floor was pitch black, with no one pressing the button—an eerie occurrence indeed.
As these incidents became more frequent, maintenance personnel were called multiple times to investigate. Yet each inspection yielded no results.
The most frightening incident occurred when two security guards were conducting a circuit check throughout the building. In the dead of night, the elevator suddenly stopped at the 14th floor. The guards waited for a long time, but the elevator doors remained stubbornly closed.
Thinking it was broken, they had no choice but to take the stairs.
Just as the two of them stepped out, the elevator started operating again. Cursing their bad luck, they made their way to the Stairwell.
They stomped their feet and clapped their hands.
However, the lights in the stairwell did not turn on, so they had to feel their way up to the fifteenth floor in the dark.
As they reached the corner on the fourteenth floor, they suddenly heard faint whispers of a woman’s voice, seemingly calling their names.
They exchanged glances.
They were nearly scared out of their wits. Standing on the steps of the fourteenth floor was a woman with a strange smile fixed on her face, staring intently at the two security guards. Below her head was a dark void; nothing could be seen. The two guards collapsed in fear.
From that point on, several people reported seeing that terrifying female ghost in the Stairwell.
The Building Owner had no choice but to dismantle that section of the Stairwell on the fourteenth floor. To his surprise, while digging through the concrete, he discovered a female corpse.
The corpse had not decayed severely due to being tightly sealed; instead, it had been soaked in Cement Lime. Her eyes and mouth were filled with cement, making it impossible to remove her normally.
The building owner thought that once the body was unearthed, everything would return to normal. However, a few nights later, an employee working late heard a woman crying in the corridor on the fourteenth floor after finishing his shift.
He turned around. A shadow of a woman stood at the end of the hallway. Initially thinking it was a colleague who had also stayed late, he blinked, and in an instant, she was right in front of him. Only then did he realize it was a ghostly figure—her face was gaunt and horrifyingly twisted.
Eventually, with no other options left, they sealed off the entire fourteenth floor and placed two stone lions at the entrance of the building for protection. Yet, strange occurrences continued unabated.
One morning, two large stone lions shed tears of blood from their eyes.
This bizarre phenomenon was witnessed by nearly all the employees working that day, leading to a series of strange occurrences that quickly made the building infamous throughout Tianjin, earning it the reputation of a haunted and cursed structure.
It was later revealed that the Daily News Building was once a hospital, where many souls had died and were unable to move on. The intention behind constructing the Daily News Building was to harness the positive energy of the workplace to suppress the malevolent forces in the area. However, it turned out that the dark energy was far too strong, and there were reasons for such intense malevolence.
From an overall perspective of Tianjin, the city is known as Nine Rivers Under the Burning Sky, built around numerous waterways with many intersections, thus dividing it into realms of yin and yang.
The Daily News Building was officially established at the intersection of five roads, which led to a concentration of negative energy from those five paths.
Moreover, during its construction, the building featured an entire glass and wooden wall system that acted like mirrors to reflect this negative energy. Each window was also slightly angled upwards, a detail that had been calculated with precision.
Though it may not be apparent from the outside, calculations indicated that any future negative energy would be reflected into the air and dissipated by sunlight.
