The night was deepening, yet the lights of the city remained bright. 0

In the distance, a faint glow rose like the belly of a white fish. 0

Ye Xiu had been tormented by a female ghost until very late before finally falling asleep. Once asleep, he found himself in a different world within his dreams. 0

At this moment, Ye Xiu was drenched in cold sweat, struggling on the soft, fluffy bed. 0

In his dream, Ye Xiu stood in a vast expanse of white snow, where the terrain was open and various symmetrically rising "snowy mountains" stretched into the distance. 0

Before Ye Xiu stood a girl clad in an icy white robe. Her graceful figure was accentuated by the flowing robe that danced in the wind, making her even more alluring. 0

Her hair fluttered in the breeze, glistening like fresh snow. 0

At this moment, the girl held a White Longsword in her hand, glaring at Ye Xiu. Suddenly, a Cold Light flashed as the tip of the snow-white sword pressed against Ye Xiu's throat, drawing a trickle of blood. 0

The girl struggled, as if she might pierce Ye Xiu's throat at any moment. 0

Yet Ye Xiu appeared to be at peace, accepting everything, including life and death. 0

He offered no resistance. 0

Ye Xiu simply gazed at the girl before him with an extremely complex mix of emotions. 0

There was love and sorrow, but no regret whatsoever. 0

The girl seemed to say something, but Ye Xiu could not hear it, as if he were deaf to her words. 0

Indeed, dreams are so powerless; they feel like a pre-written script being performed once more in the realm of sleep. 0

Then, a flash of Cold Light appeared, and Blood Light burst forth, staining the white snow and the freshly fallen snowflakes red. 0

In reality, Ye Xiu struggled to awaken. At that moment, he vaguely remembered the girl from his dream and the final flash of Blood Light. 0

He didn’t know who that girl was, what had happened in the end, or what that special feeling he had meant. 0

Now, Ye Xiu was unsure how to evaluate this dream—was it a nightmare or a beautiful dream? 0

It didn’t matter anymore; it was just a dream. 0

Ye Xiu wiped the cold sweat from his brow and looked around. 0

It was getting late; he needed to go to work... 0

His time before work was also limited. June was approaching, and Ming Zhong University would be on summer break then, while he still had to take the college entrance examination. He had heard that some people did well on it. 0

Soon enough, July and August passed, and the day of the exam arrived. 0

Ye Xiu stood among many candidates, some were nervous while others seemed relaxed. 0

Without a doubt, Ye Xiu belonged to the category of those who were not doing well academically yet felt completely at ease. 0

Once he arrived at the examination hall, the feeling of being constrained made Ye Xiu very uncomfortable. This place, which dictated the future of all candidates, felt so detestable. 0

However, despite its unpleasantness, Ye Xiu still fell asleep. In his dreams, he found himself taking the exam, and he had filled out all the answers on his paper. 0

The countdown bell rang after fifteen minutes, waking Ye Xiu up. He looked at the blank paper in front of him, and suddenly, the haze of sleep vanished completely. 0

It seemed like he had just dreamed of something. 0

Ye Xiu thought carefully, and indeed! 0

With the imagined answers still fresh in his mind, Ye Xiu began to write furiously. 0

In the end, the exam paper was filled to the brim, though he had no idea whether his answers were correct or wrong. 0

For Ye Xiu, it didn't matter; he was going to guess anyway. 0

Next, Ye Xiu slept through five consecutive exams. 0

Each time he fell asleep, he would dream of his test papers and fill them out completely. 0

The college entrance examination was that simple; it just passed like that. 0

He had no idea how he did, but it didn’t matter; anything would be fine. 0

... 0

After June, university was on break, and Ye Xiu's work was temporarily halted. 0

He returned to the hotel, where he would be staying in a luxurious hotel for the summer. 0

Living in a villa-like room, Ye Xiu clearly resembled a rich second generation. 0

As he contemplated what to do with such a long summer vacation, he suddenly picked up a guidebook nearby and decided to go traveling. 0

Ye Xiu had always enjoyed adventures. 0

As he looked at the guide, he came across a painting depicting a picturesque landscape, with waterfalls cascading over green stones. 0

This place seemed nice. 0

So, Ye Xiu packed his things and set off. 0

The mountain in the painting was called Qishan. The scenery within the mountain was completely different from the modern world; if one were to find themselves in the mountains, the unique essence of nature would envelop them, as if they were in a primitive society. 0

Although Qishan boasted beautiful landscapes, very few people ventured here because the area had been designated as a wildlife protection zone. The mountain was home to wolves and tigers, along with various other wild animals. 0

Of course, such dangers could not deter everyone. 0

Rumors circulated that there was a mysterious figure in Qishan who vowed to kill anyone who entered the mountain. In this legal age, even if some did not believe it and dared to step into Qishan, after being warned repeatedly by the mysterious figure, those individuals still pressed on. Soon enough, their gruesome corpses would be found hanging along the path leading into Qishan. Why were there still rumors? Perhaps it was because not everyone who entered Qishan was “fortunate” enough to encounter the mysterious figure... 0

However, Ye Xiu was unaware of these rumors. 0

He arrived at the foot of the mountain and, after sorting through an unknown mix of emotions, began his journey into Qishan. 0
