In the center of the grand hall sat the Alliance Leader, Haitai Ping, with only a few people present.
"Ye Xiu, it's been a while! Hahaha..." Haitai Ping laughed as he walked down from the throne.
He approached Ye Xiu, warmly inquiring about his well-being, appearing very friendly.
"Tsk..." Zhao Wentong shot a mocking glance from the side.
Haitai Ping looked quite embarrassed and quickly asked, "May I ask what brings you to my humble abode, Friend Ye?"
Humble abode? Where is this so-called humble place? Is it that lotus pond in the center of the hall? It could easily overshadow any luxurious villa at the foot of the mountain.
Ye Xiu got straight to the point: "The recent Thunder Wave Phenomenon has caused an influx of monsters wreaking havoc below. I would like to inquire how the Sea Alliance Leader is addressing this situation."
"Hahaha, I didn't expect you to be so concerned for the common people at such a young age, Friend Ye. Rest assured, I organized various sects to quell the chaos as soon as possible. This is indeed our responsibility."
"I came here to inform you of some news: a Ghost King from the Ghost Spirit Realm has appeared in Starlit City."
"A Ghost King? From the Ghost Spirit Realm!" Haitai Ping's brows furrowed.
This matter certainly required serious attention.
"Come here!" Haitai Ping commanded, and over a dozen people entered the grand hall.
"You will go to the Eight Major Sects and issue a decree, commanding each sect to send at least one elder to Starlit City to slay the Ghost King! Additionally, from the Dao Alliance, send Elder Changping to Starlit City as well."
"Yes!"
"Off you go."
Haitai Ping turned to Ye Xiu and said, "I wonder what your senior brother..."
Ye Xiu interrupted directly, "My senior brother is out on business. I've informed you about the Ghost King in Starlit City, and I should be leaving now. Farewell, no need to see me off."
With that, Ye Xiu truly left with Zhao Wentong and Tang Luor, not lingering for a moment.
Only Haitai Ping was left standing there, dumbfounded.
He really didn't give face.
He had been slapped in the face by someone so young.
"Our goal is to resolve the matter with Anxu. Now that we've achieved that, there's no need to stay here."
Ye Xiu and the others left the Dao Alliance and headed straight for Luo Long Town.
"Hey, Old Ye, where are we going?" Zhao Wentong asked, patting Ye Xiu on the shoulder.
"Luo Long Town."
"What are we going there for?"
"To catch ghosts and pick up something along the way."
"What are we picking up?"
"A treasure!"
“……”
The second and third people arrived at Luo Long Town.
A massive Stone Dragon stood in the center of Luo Long Town.
“The name Luo Long Town is quite unique, and look at this stone dragon!” Zhao Wentong exclaimed.
“ Ye Xiu, what is this Luo Long Town?”
“It’s my birthplace.”
Not one for many words, Ye Xiu was currently looking around. There were quite a few spirits in Luo Long Town, and it seemed that several people had fallen under a curse, possessed by ghosts.
An Old Man passed by Ye Xiu.
“Uncle Two!”
The Old Man turned back with a puzzled expression, scrutinizing the newcomer for a moment before slapping his forehead in delight. “Ergouzi! What brings you back?”
“Pfft…” Tang Luor covered her mouth, trying to stifle her laughter.
Zhao Wentong grinned silently.
Ye Xiu felt three black lines appear on his forehead…
“Uncle Two, where are you in such a hurry to go?”
"Hey, it's just a few people. I don't know what's going on, but many in our town have been possessed, including your Aunt. I hired a Great Sage earlier, and he just went to get the money," Ye Xiu's Uncle said as he pulled out a large stack of cash from his bag.
"What kind of Great Sage charges this much? I want to see," Ye Xiu said with a slight smirk.
"That Great Sage is something else. Ergouzi, you better not provoke him. Let's go."
"Hehe..." Zhao Wentong chuckled upon hearing Ergouzi's name again.
When they arrived at Ye Xiu's Uncle's house, they saw a man dressed like a Yellow-Robed Taoist standing in front of Ye Xiu's Aunt. The table was covered with various exorcism tools: Black Dog Blood, Cinnabar, Yellow Talismans, Peach Wood Sword, Glutinous Rice...
The Black Dog Blood was mixed with Cinnabar and Glutinous Rice. The Yellow-Robed Taoist chanted incantations as he burned the Yellow Talismans and tossed the burning paper into a bowl, then sprinkled it over Ye Xiu's Aunt.
Ye Xiu frowned; it was clear that these items lacked sufficient spiritual power. The energy was so faint it could be ignored, so even if his Aunt was possessed, these things wouldn't be able to drive away the spirit.
Sure enough, there was another step. The Yellow-Robed Taoist threw out a talisman, which ignited with a loud bang.
He quickly drew the Peach Wood Sword and stabbed it into the burning Yellow Talisman before aiming it at his Aunt's forehead.
This action shocked everyone. Ye Xiu flipped his hand, ready to intervene at any moment, while Tang Luor gestured for him to wait and see.
But how could Ye Xiu not be anxious? That was his Aunt who had watched him grow up after his brother left.
After hesitating for just a moment, the Yellow-Robed Taoist had already thrust the sword forward, its tip mere inches from his Aunt's forehead.
At this point, even if Ye Xiu unleashed the full power of Azure Cloud Formula, he couldn't stop it.
Despite this, Ye Xiu charged forward. In an instant, he saw the Yellow-Robed Taoist's Peach Wood Sword pierce through his Aunt's forehead.
Everyone was dumbfounded. Upon closer inspection, the Peach Wood Sword did not bear any white or red colors.
It was as if, at the moment the Peach Wood Sword made contact with the forehead, a spatial distortion occurred, allowing it to exit directly from the back of the head without causing any harm to the body.
Then, a cacophony of wails erupted as a soul shadow struggled around Aunt. The Yellow-Robed Taoist drew the Peach Wood Sword, and the soul shadow vanished without a trace.
Ye Xiu's Aunt slowly opened her eyes, regaining her senses.
Was that it?
No wonder he was called the Great Sage! His powers were extraordinary!
The Yellow-Robed Taoist took out a Yellow Talisman and began to wipe the Peach Wood Sword. The ghost that had attached itself to Ye Xiu's Aunt rushed toward the Taoist at an incredible speed. The Yellow-Robed Taoist remained unfazed as he watched the ghost enter his body.
This scene did not escape Ye Xiu and Tang Luor's notice.
So this Yellow-Robed Taoist was in cahoots with the ghost that had possessed Aunt!
A fraud!
A capable fraud!
If he could associate with ghosts, he clearly had enough skills to make a living without resorting to deception!
Ye Xiu's Uncle, seeing Aunt recover, hurriedly grasped the Yellow-Robed Taoist's hand in gratitude and pulled out a large stack of cash to stuff into the Taoist's hands.
To their surprise, the Taoist did not take it all; instead, he pulled out one bill from the pile.
"Saving people is the duty of us Cultivators. Taking one bill is just to put your mind at ease," the Yellow-Robed Taoist declared solemnly.
"!!!" Ye Xiu's Uncle was taken aback.
After accepting a bill, the Yellow-Robed Taoist prepared to leave with his Peach Wood Sword in hand.
"Great Sage, aren't you taking your belongings?" Uncle Two asked.
"I don't need them," the Yellow-Robed Taoist replied as he slipped out the door and strode away.
"How strange. This Great Sage drives away ghosts for others, yet he won't accept even ten stacks of bills, and today he only takes one?" Uncle Two pondered.
Upon hearing this, Ye Xiu and Tang Luor exchanged a knowing smile.
Only Zhao Wentong felt that the Yellow-Robed Taoist had some real skill.
"Let's go take a look."
Ye Xiu's target was the Yellow-Robed Taoist, but by the time they stepped outside, the Taoist had already vanished from sight.
