Chu Donglin prepared a simple breakfast.
In the kitchen, he boiled a pot of hot water and made a steaming bowl of instant noodles for Liu Xiner, accompanied by some snacks and chocolate, which was basically the extent of the meal.
After all, in this post-apocalyptic world, many things were inconvenient, and being able to fill one's stomach was already a luxury for many.
The idea of eating enough while also maintaining a balanced diet was simply wishful thinking.
Once Liu Xiner finished her breakfast, she routinely used the intercom to report her safety to Ban Qingya on the other end. The two then began playing cards in their room.
Outside, thick fog enveloped everything, blocking the sun's rays. The group of High-Level Zombies that should have returned to their nests to rest were still wandering outside; going out now would undoubtedly be asking for trouble.
It wasn't until close to noon, when the fog finally lifted, that Chu Donglin took Liu Xiner and set off again.
This time, their pace quickened significantly.
After his identity was exposed, Chu Donglin no longer needed to cautiously hide who he was.
He led Liu Xiner straight across the street without hesitation.
Along the way, all the Low-Level Zombies wandering on the streets became agitated by Liu Xiner's living presence, roaring as they attempted to pounce on her.
However, under the pressure of Chu Donglin, a High-Level Zombie, these mindless Ordinary Zombies could not get close despite their hunger driving them nearly to madness.
The pressure of his Mental Power acted like an invisible wall, keeping them at bay and preventing them from approaching within three meters of Chu Donglin.
This area was the City Center District, the most populated part of the city. The main road was crowded with countless zombies.
Yet under Chu Donglin's lead, the two managed to traverse through the dense Zombie Sea without issue.
As they approached, the tightly packed Zombies on either side of the street instinctively parted to create a path for them.
As Chu Donglin passed through, the Zombies behind him roared and chased after him.
However, blocked by the Zombies in front, they could only crowd the street like sardines in a can, angrily howling.
Ignoring the roars of the Zombies around him, Chu Donglin strolled calmly with Liu Xiner, effortlessly crossing three major streets as if they were just taking a walk, arriving at the Li River Bridge.
Behind them, countless Zombies were driven mad by the scent of living humans, howling as they tried to get closer.
Yet around Chu Donglin, all the Zombies were pushed back by an invisible force.
It was the domination and suppression of High-Level Zombies over Low-Level Zombies, a power even Mutated Zombies could not resist, let alone these Ordinary Zombies.
Nervously following beside Chu Donglin, Liu Xiner tightly clung to one of his arms, feeling anxious.
In fact, no one would remain calm in such a situation.
Just a few meters away were dense clusters of terrifying Zombies, their numbers so overwhelming it felt like a tide.
If they surged forward, they could easily tear apart steel, let alone the flesh and blood of mere mortals.
At this close distance, Liu Xiner could even see the dark bloodstains on the Zombies' bodies, their yellowed and foul-smelling teeth, and their hair that was dry and brittle like withered grass.
The pale faces and decaying bodies were vividly clear, utterly disgusting.
Moreover, although they were all Ordinary Zombies, these lowly creatures did not maintain personal hygiene like Chu Donglin did.
After nearly three months without bathing, combined with the long-standing bloodstains and filth on them, the stench was enough to make anyone recoil in horror.
Liu Xiner tightened her grip on Chu Donglin's arm with one hand while covering her nose with the other, her face contorted in pain.

Even Chu Donglin's face showed signs of discomfort.
Before setting out, he hadn't anticipated how foul the smell from these Zombies would be.
Moreover, with such a large number of Zombies piled together, the noxious odor accumulated and even triggered a chemical reaction. Even he, a Zombie himself, could hardly bear it; how could ordinary people manage?
It was likely that when human Survivors faced this horde of Zombies, they wouldn't just struggle to fight back; the overwhelming stench alone could sap at least half of their combat effectiveness.
"Brother-in-law, these fellows smell terrible..."
The girl covered her nose, looking distressed. "Why don't we take another route?"
"This area is the city center; there are always plenty of Zombies around. It won't make a difference which way we go."
Chu Donglin sighed as he spotted the Li River Bridge coming into view. After a moment's thought, he scooped the girl up in his arms. "Hold on tight; I won't be responsible if you fall."
"Eh? Wait, what?"
Surprised and flustered by being suddenly lifted in a princess carry by Chu Donglin, the girl blinked. "Brother-in-law, what are you doing?"
"Guess."
Chu Donglin raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Since you've already figured out my identity, I don't need to hide my abilities anymore... Well, it might get a bit bumpy from here on out, so hold on tight."
The girl froze for a moment and instinctively tightened her grip around Chu Donglin's neck, her face paling slightly. "You... Brother-in-law, you can't be..."
"That's right; just as you thought."
Chu Donglin playfully raised his eyebrows at the girl, then jumped off the street while holding her tightly.
His powerful physical attributes came into play. Even though more of his strength was used to enhance his Mental Power during evolution, his physical capabilities far exceeded those of a First-Stage Zombie, let alone a human.
As he soared into the air, a three-meter-high streetlight became his stepping stone.
Using the streetlight as a springboard, Chu Donglin bent his legs slightly and pushed off with force, launching himself from the light.
As he flew at high speed, the wind whipped around them from all directions, causing their hair to whip wildly.
Amidst the howling wind, the pale-faced girl’s terrified screams echoed continuously.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhh!”
In a leap spanning over ten meters, Chu Donglin landed heavily on the balcony of a third-floor apartment, then without pausing, he leaped again toward his next landing point.
The wind roared as a metallic vibration resonated; the top of the streetlight pole he landed on bent slightly under his weight.
However, as the metal streetlight emitted a buzzing sound, Chu Donglin had already soared over ten meters with the girl in his arms and landed atop a large tree.
The tree shook violently, shedding countless dry branches and leaves as Chu Donglin's figure appeared in mid-air several dozen meters away.
Just like running up walls, he leaped over the street, using streetlights, trees, balconies, and various other objects to propel himself forward. Chu Donglin carried Liu Xiner through the air across several streets until they reached the entrance of Li River Bridge.
When he landed with the girl at the bridge's entrance, countless Zombies behind them stood confusedly looking up, seemingly puzzled by what had just flown overhead.
In his arms, the girl’s face was pale as she nervously curled herself against Chu Donglin, as if she had been thoroughly frightened.
“How was that? Exciting, right?”
Chu Donglin released the girl with a wicked smile and said, "Did you used to like roller coasters? I can't take you to one now, but I can find something even more thrilling for you to experience—Running up Walls... How does that sound?"
As her feet touched the ground, the girl couldn't help but shiver.
When she looked at Chu Donglin, her face was somewhat pale, but her eyes sparkled with a mix of fear and excitement.
"Wow... that's amazing."
She pressed her hand against her chest, trying to calm her wildly beating heart, as if she had just come out of a fierce battle, her expression filled with admiration.
"Brother-in-law, I can't believe you're this incredible... Running up Walls! It's just like something out of a movie. No wonder you were able to scare off that huge wolf last night; you're really impressive!"
"Actually," Chu Donglin raised an eyebrow and replied, "most Second-Stage Zombies can do things like this. You don't need to be so excited."
He continued, "Besides, the world of Zombies is full of all sorts of bizarre happenings. Running up Walls is just a daily routine for High-Level Zombies. You'll see even more amazing things in the future... right, White Wolf?"
"Howl!!!"
In an angry roar, a car suddenly flew past in front of the Li River Bridge.
At the same time, a massive White Wolf leaped into the air, landing squarely in the middle of the road on the bridge, glaring fiercely at Chu Donglin and the girl. Its vicious fangs glinted coldly in the sunlight.
