Yet it was never the virus of disaster that destroyed this planet; it was the human heart.
"General! The Landwalker is approaching!"
Amidst the terrified cries of her subordinates, she stepped out from atop the city wall, a chilling light shimmering gently in her hand.
The cold light, from the moment it was born, was destined to illuminate the entire void.
That was a terrifying Ability that shook the earth with supreme power at the moment of awakening.
Cold Ice, Nightmare Wasteland!
Ahead, the tall and fearsome Landwalker loomed so large that it seemed to reach the heavens, towering above even dozens of stories high buildings.
Its pitch-black body glowed with a chilling pale white, resembling a Horrific Monster that would only appear in nightmares; just a distant glance could send one into a panic-stricken scream.
Surrounding it were countless Black Malevolence swirling and dancing, like wailing Vengeful Spirits bound by an evil god, their mournful cries echoing relentlessly.
A dark aura, accompanied by the presence of the Evil God, wafted through the air, instilling a sense of Madness in all who felt it.
Chill, Fury, Agitation, evil, darkness, Madness, Bloodthirsty, Cold-hearted… all negative emotions were recklessly scattered by this force, causing suffering and wailing among the living.
This was the most terrifying Land Monster in the entire Jiang Hai. It was also the root cause of destruction in this world.
It walked upon the earth as if it were a sovereign in another's realm, unmatched by anyone.
Even the strongest Fifth-Stage Zombie now seemed utterly weak in the face of such a monster.
"Everyone, fall back!"
Liu Mengying's Cold-hearted command echoed throughout the Survivor Base. "Prepare to flee!"
The icy order signified that this newly established base would once again be abandoned.
For those Survivors who had just moved into this new base and had not yet settled in, it meant more fleeing and busyness ahead as they would need to construct new shelters.
Yet no one questioned or opposed her.
The moment her command was issued, the entire command system within the base began to operate swiftly. Countless soldiers and officers rushed to their designated posts to facilitate the evacuation of Survivors from the base.
On top of the towering walls that reached over ten meters high, several soldiers stood behind Liu Mengying, watching as the Landwalker drew ever closer within the city, their teeth clenched in hatred.
"General! We might not make it in time!"
This time, the Landwalker’s wandering came without warning. It appeared right near the newly established base, catching everyone off guard.
Now, looking at the direction in which the massive creature was heading, it was clear that this newly built Survivor Base lay directly in its path.
For all living beings in this world, this was an insurmountable disaster.
As the Landwalker drew closer, the chilling, chaotic, and malevolent aura of Madness in the air grew increasingly intense.
When it approached within a certain distance, it didn’t even need to do anything; just its terrifying presence was enough to kill all the living.
That dangerous distance was continuously shrinking, and some of the mentally weaker humans in the camp had already begun to scream in terror.
If it continued to close in, once it reached a certain proximity, those who hadn’t evacuated in time would be driven insane by the horrific dark aura.
After all, even in this apocalyptic world, the vast majority of Survivors could not possess the strong will to face the Landwalker like these battle-hardened elite warriors.
On top of the tall walls, Liu Mengying watched the ever-approaching massive figure of the Landwalker with an icy gaze.

After the secrets they wanted to hide were exposed, several soldiers felt a bit awkward.

The soldiers exchanged words, recounting the events. A flicker of anger flashed in Liu Mengying's eyes.
She didn’t know much about another general in the camp, Ban Guozhi, whose reputation and abilities were second only to hers.
After all, this base was hastily established by the remnants of the military after the apocalypse began. Liu Mengying had gradually risen to prominence due to her formidable abilities during this chaotic time and was eventually promoted to the rank of general.
As for Ban Guozhi, he had already held the rank of general before the apocalypse and was considered an old-school soldier.

Previously, Liu Mengying had been aware of Ban Guozhi's aversion to Zombies and had been avoiding any contact between Ban Guozhi and Chen Xiaofeng.
Yet, she never expected that the two would eventually meet, and friction would indeed occur, pushing matters to a point she least wanted to see.
"So Chen Xiaofeng has annulled our alliance?"
Liu Mengying's voice was icy cold as she spoke.
Several soldiers shivered at her words, trembling slightly. "N-no... Although he had a falling out with General Ban, there hasn't been any annulment of the alliance. He just intends to come to you for demands in the future."
Liu Mengying snorted coldly, indicating her unwavering stance. "Where is General Ban now?"
"Uh..."
The soldiers exchanged glances, and finally, one of them mustered the courage to speak up.
"He has returned to his hometown."

The moment the soldier finished speaking, the ice in Liu Mengying's hand shattered instantly.
She fixed her cold gaze on the soldiers, and the temperature in the air dropped to a freezing point.
"He's gone back to his hometown? At such a critical moment, you're telling me he went back home?! When did he leave?"
