With a sharp crack, the ground beneath Liu Mengying's feet was instantly frozen by the hard ice.
She slammed her palm heavily against the wall, her eyes filled with an unprecedented fury.
"Ban Guozhi!"
She glared at the soldiers before her, a cold smile creeping onto her lips. "I just remembered, you all are his old subordinates, aren't you? I suppose I'm the last person in this entire base to know that Ban Guozhi has left?"
The soldiers awkwardly lowered their heads, unable to meet Liu Mengying's bone-chilling gaze. Their attitude spoke volumes; it was almost an admission of guilt.
On top of the high wall, Liu Mengying suddenly let out a cold laugh, a sound laced with enough anger to make anyone who knew of her reputation tremble.
"Very good! You've done well! You joined forces to keep me in the dark just to give your old boss a way out... Excellent! You've all done wonderfully!"
The atmosphere grew exceptionally cold atop the wall, with only Liu Mengying's indifferent applause echoing through the air.
"This time Ban Guozhi left, and since he dared to take away a whole battalion, he surely must have taken other powerful weapons with him, right?"
She fixed her icy gaze on the soldiers who were bowing their heads in shame and asked coldly, "Tell me, what did he take?"
Several soldiers lowered their heads, sweat dripping from their brows as they spoke in hushed tones.
"Three tanks. One fighter jet."
"Hmph... Is that all? At least he has some conscience. I thought he would take away about one-fifth of the emergency troops."
Liu Mengying smiled, her gaze icy.
"And the gifts he left me are quite nice too; at least he left all the emergency troops for me and even drove away the allies who were supposed to come to our aid... Hahaha... With the sudden attack from the Landwalker, Chen Xiaofeng is probably still scratching his head over how many subordinates to send to their deaths just to draw the Landwalker away from us. Little did you know, you’ve already given him an excuse to avoid sacrificing his men... Hahaha... You all did very well, truly well!"
Liu Mengying laughed coldly, causing all the soldiers on the high wall to tremble and lower their heads, not daring to speak further.
Behind Liu Mengying, the Survivors within the high wall were hurriedly and orderly migrating in a desperate escape.
For these humans living at the epicenter of the global Zombie crisis, life in Jiang Hai—a dangerous world teeming with High-Level Zombies—had made relocating and fleeing a skill everyone had mastered.
After all, Jiang Hai was different from other places; here, Zombies were powerful and terrifying beyond belief.
Moreover, above the Zombies loomed even more horrifying Landwalkers.
These Horrific Monsters, surpassing all species, seemed like Evil Gods crawling out of myth. Only mindless Zombies could barely survive under their dark majesty.
Wherever a Landwalker passed, all living beings would face annihilation; even those immensely powerful High-Level Zombies had to Madness flee in terror.
These humans, lacking strong combat abilities, had become one of the most vulnerable groups in the apocalypse survival chain. If they were not adept at escaping, then even if others wanted to save them, it would be impossible.
Watching the hurried yet orderly escape of the humans in the base, Liu Mengying turned her gaze towards the edge of the city not far away.
There, a Landwalker that had suddenly appeared half an hour ago was slowly advancing, surrounded by the terrifying Black Malevolence swirling around it like a nightmare, capable of driving the living to madness.
This powerful and fearsome monster possessed little intelligence; it would occasionally wander through the city, moving aimlessly.
Every place it passed would see the living extinguished and the dead wailing—a true harbinger of death.
And this time, its path clearly led to the newly constructed Survivor Base.
However, despite being exceptionally sturdy, even a Zombie Tide could not easily breach this Survivor Base. In front of the Landwalker, it seemed weak and vulnerable.

Ordinary people, thousands of meters away from the Landwalker, were already driven mad by its chilling and dark aura of Madness, let alone engaging in combat with it.
The only entities that could approach the Landwalker without being affected by its terrifying presence were the Zombie Tide, yet they could not be easily controlled by humans.
Originally, Liu Mengying had allied with a powerful Zombie King who was more inclined towards humanity to prevent attacks from the Landwalker. The plan was to use the tide of Zombies to attack the Landwalker when it appeared, diverting its path.
But now that Ban Zhiguo had clashed with that Zombie King, Chen Xiaofeng would certainly have an excuse not to send his subordinates out to their deaths so readily.
After all, an alliance with human Survivors was merely a bonus for that Zombie King.
Even if this Survivor Base were to be wiped out, he would suffer no loss at all.

In the midst of the howling wind, she stepped out from the high wall. The moment her heel touched down, an Ice Bridge materialized out of thin air to catch her, allowing her to walk step by step toward the outside.
The sharp sound of her heels striking the solid ice echoed, becoming the only vivid color in this desolate world.
Countless soldiers stood atop the wall, staring in astonishment at the retreating figure of their general, their expressions filled with disbelief.
Even though everyone knew of their general's immense power, facing a Landwalker was something entirely different...
With a whoosh—
Amidst the piercing sound of the air crystallizing, Liu Mengying walked step by step toward the towering Horrific Monster in the distance, the ice bridge extending rapidly before her.
Across the vast empty ice bridge, the woman walking on the ever-lengthening edge captured the attention of the entire world in that moment.
Cold Ice. Nightmare Wasteland!
As Liu Mengying raised her hand, the strongest Ability assessed by the research facility burst forth in a dazzling display of light.
"Coordinates! 5,765!"
The chilling voice resonated throughout the empty space, and suddenly several Missiles shot out from within the Survivor Base, instantly striking the distant Landwalker.
Boom! Boom! Boom—
The terrifying explosions and tremors echoed from afar.
However, at the center of the smoke and explosions, the Landwalker remained unscathed, only letting out an angry roar, seemingly filled with rage at the inexplicable attack.
Yet, before the smoke had completely dissipated, the woman on the suspended ice bridge raised her right hand.
Cold Ice, Nightmare Wasteland!
In an instant, everything froze, a bone-chilling cold enveloped the area.
The terrifying low temperature flashed through the sky, causing even the swirling malevolent energy surrounding the Landwalker to freeze for a moment.
Then, the smoke that had been suspended in the air slowly solidified, transforming into heavy blocks of ice that began to fall downward.
"Coordinates! 6,718!"
Liu Mengying's voice echoed across the sky once more. Following that, several missiles launched from the base, accurately hitting the coordinates provided by Liu Mengying.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A terrifying explosion erupted on the surface of the Landwalker, but this time it was accompanied by numerous shards of ice.
As a massive chunk of ice fell, it was struck by the incoming missiles and exploded into countless tiny ice fragments.
The sharp shards of ice mixed with the terrifying kinetic energy generated by the shockwaves of the explosion directly struck the nearby Landwalker.
Still, it remained unscathed.
The Landwalker let out an enraged roar, yet the shards of ice capable of piercing through mountains left no wounds on its body.
However, Liu Mengying's target was not this.
She continued to advance, facing the terror of the Landwalker, her aqua blue long hair swirling in the dim air.
Once again, she froze the explosive smoke.
This time, due to the fragments of ice that had splattered during the explosion, the massive ice block that formed was much larger than the previous one.
"Coordinates! 19,66."
A cold voice echoed across the vast sky, followed by the whistling sound of missiles soaring through the air and the tremendous roar of explosions.
As she announced the coordinates for the seventh time, the frozen smoke block had expanded to a diameter of several hundred meters. From a distance, it resembled a strangely shaped frozen sphere.
Liu Mengying then raised her hand and directly tore through the colors of the air.
