Beiluoshimen, a constellation belonging to Beigong Xuanwu, is also the main star of Pisces, located approximately 51 light-years from Earth.
This dazzling and bright star in the night sky is the dwelling place of the flame bearer, Cthulhu, radiating with brilliant light.
The flames on that star have been corroded by the power of the Evil God for billions of years, transforming into something capable of annihilating all living beings.
What Chu Donglin opened was a spatial gateway leading to this star, drawing forth the evil flames tainted by the Evil God.
These flames can incinerate everything in existence, their immense power instilling terror. Especially after Chu Donglin infused them with another layer of energy, the flames mixed with the essence of billions of Zombie and Essence of Life could even inflict harm upon the Evil God.
As the overwhelming flames descended, the subterranean Eldritch God Hastur let out a furious roar.
Eldritch God Hastur screamed in agony, its proud power nearly obliterated in an instant by the searing flames, unable to resist.
It is The King in Yellow, master of wind, yet it lacks resistance against fire… particularly against these flames altered by strange powers, specifically designed to counteract the strength of the Evil God, filling it with rage and fear as it howled in pain.
But it was futile.
No matter how it wailed and cried, the power of the flames continued to scorch it, penetrating through the earth's barriers and surrounding it from all sides, turning it into a burning fireball beneath the ground.
The body of the Evil God gradually faded away within this fiery power until it completely vanished.
It seemed that merely a moment had passed when this vast and mighty flame engulfed an area spanning hundreds of kilometers, enveloping the entire frozen space-time within the flames of the Evil God.
However, as human structures, towering buildings, and even those astonished humans were consumed by this fire—flames capable of incinerating even the Evil God—they suffered no harm at all.
They only burned what Chu Donglin wished to be destroyed.
For example, the Evil God known as Hastur, the exploding nuclear bomb, and so on...
"Me?"
In the underground base, surrounded by flames from all directions, the red-haired girl shook her head. She stood up from her seat.
"Nyarlathotep, you are indeed a powerful enemy, having set up a deadly trap that we cannot resist. However, just as you will never defeat me, I will never lose."
Her red twin tails floated in the air without wind, and her delicate body began to levitate slowly.
Unlike Hastur, the King in Yellow, she was an Evil God residing within the flames. Known as the Blazing One, a Great Old One, the fire did not frighten her; instead, it brought her comfort.
Her dwelling was a star of intense heat.
Long ago, she had visited Earth. She was one of the earliest Evil Gods to descend upon the planet.
In ancient times when Earth was still a molten sphere, it was a rather comfortable place for her.
However, as the planet gradually cooled and solidified, she left this world and ventured into the depths of the universe.
Although the flames around her had been modified by Chu Donglin to possess great lethality against Evil Gods, she could endure longer than Hastur, who was instantly obliterated by fire.
Amidst the blazing Inferno, she floated upward and broke through the barriers of the underground base. She pierced through thick layers of soil without caring that the collapsing earth buried a human named Shu Yuyao beneath.
In this absolutely still and frozen space, even the wind had ceased. The flames that engulfed the entire world were the only colors still moving in this realm... along with her.
She soared into the sky and gazed at a distant mountain.
In that place, a row of forbidden Zombies stood like sculptures, both human and animal, all above the Third Stage of zombification.
At the forefront was a massive White Wolf, upon which stood two figures, one large and one small.
They held hands, their expressions frozen in terror at the moment of a nuclear explosion, as if witnessing some horrific scene.
Cthulhu's gaze lingered on the two figures, ultimately focusing on the girl named Snow.
"Zombies, huh? I suppose that will do..."
She slowly exhaled, flying through the frozen space, crossing the boiling Inferno. The flames scorched her from all sides, her body becoming increasingly transparent.
Yet before she completely faded away, she approached the two frozen figures and placed her hand gently on the girl's head.
"Nyarlathotep found an exceptional human to be her successor and finally killed both me and Hastur. So I shall follow her example and find a human to inherit my power."
"I hope this human will not disappoint my expectations."
With a sigh, she caressed Snow's head and then transmitted the essence of Evil God energy to her.
A red glow gradually emerged around her.
To the naked eye, her form became more and more ethereal, colors fading until she appeared eerily translucent, caught between existence and oblivion.
She looked at the human girl before her with a hint of sorrow.
"My successor, I hope you will not let me down and can fulfill..."
She did not come out afterward.
As the power of the Evil God fully entered the girl's body, the snow, which had been frozen like a sculpture, suddenly opened its eyes. Her pale hands plunged heavily into the chest of Cthulhu.
Blood splattered, covering the girl nearby, but she paid no mind. Instead, she stared intently at the floating Evil God before her, her hand slowly exerting pressure into the opponent's chest.
Bang—
A muffled sound echoed as the heart within the Red-Haired Girl's chest was crushed. Her delicate body twitched and trembled in mid-air, revealing an expression of disbelief.
"How... is this possible..."
She widened her eyes, watching in shock as this human tore open her chest, unable to comprehend what was happening. "How can you still move..."
In this frozen space, everything in the world should have fallen into absolute stillness. Without the power of an Evil God, how could anyone act freely?
This sudden turn of events left Cthulhu astonished.
Blood flowed from her chest, staining the snow-white hands.
Yet, holding onto the delicate Red-Haired Girl, Snow smiled lightly. A dark red glow emerged in her pupils.
Within those beautiful burgundy eyes, strange runes gradually appeared.
That was... the ability of the Death God's Eye.
Not only could it see through a being's lifespan and name, but it also possessed many more mysterious powers.
At that moment, the powerful ability awakened within the girl who had consumed half of the essence of the Evil God was enough to place her among the ranks of the Evil Gods... Although she was the weakest, she could barely break free from the solidification of space.
Red flames surrounded her from all directions, enveloping everything in the area.
Within that scorching Inferno, flames licked at the three people on the back of the White Wolf, yet they caused no harm to any being except for Cthulhu.
However, the Red-Haired Girl, lifted high by the snow, was stiff with pain, letting out a cry of anguish as flames surged into her limbs, transforming her into a burning figure.
The only part of her that remained unscathed in the flames was her exquisitely beautiful face, viewed through the lens of human aesthetics.
Her red twin tails hung at her sides, scorched by the flames until they were engulfed and gradually disappeared.
On her face, filled with suffering and distress, lingered the last remnants of color from Cthulhu's life as an Evil God.
"This is impossible..."
Having lost the essence of the Evil God, she finally lost her ability to resist those flames. She was instantly ignited and burned by that terrifying fire, consuming both her shell and soul.
She stared wide-eyed in disbelief at the snow so close before her, murmuring softly.
"You... how could you possess the power of Mordigian..."
In that fleeting moment, she recognized the source of power emanating from the girl before her.
It was the ability of Mordigian, God of Dread and Cold Bones, King of Ghouls—an Evil God whose Death God's Eye could see through everything. How could it possibly manifest in a human... or a Zombie? Could it be that Mordigian was already dead?
Cthulhu's question would never find an answer.
Because the burning flames had reduced her to ashes, not even the remnants of her body remained; she simply vanished into thin air in the hands of the girl.
When the flames subsided, not a trace of blood was left on Snow's arms or body. The blood of the Evil God had been consumed and burned away by the flames that filled the entire world, leaving not a single drop behind.
So when all the flames in the space finally receded, shrinking back to the portal from whence they came, the girl standing on the back of the White Wolf remained spotless and pristine.
She held Shishi's hand, gazing at the ruins of Jiang Hai in the distance, unable to suppress a smile.
For in the place where the nuclear bomb had exploded, within Jiang Hai's last Survivor Base, all of humanity was still alive; not a single person had perished in the explosion.
At the moment of detonation, the suddenly unleashed flames swept through the entire space, incinerating everything that Chu Donglin sought to erase.
This included the Evil God, as well as the shockwave generated by the nuclear explosion and the energy produced during it. When the flames that enveloped the world finally receded, not even a single house was damaged in the Human Base where the bomb had fallen; only a moderately sized crater remained at the center of the explosion.
Seeing all this, Snow let out a sigh of relief and smiled with some satisfaction.
