Chapter Sixty-Seven: I Fate It
The Cloud-Swallowing Sword radiated a soft white glow, piercing toward Zhu Yan's forehead at an almost imperceptible speed.
Tu was taken aback, never expecting Sima Shangshan to have such a lethal move. He quickly drew his massive axe, attempting to block the attack. Unfortunately, he was a moment too slow; before he could firmly grip the axe, the Cloud-Swallowing Sword struck him.
Clang...
The sharp sound of metal clashing echoed, sparks flying like fireworks. The weight of the attack caused Tu to lose control of the axe, which flew from his hands and landed on the ground.
The Cloud-Swallowing Sword continued its rapid flight toward Zhu Yan's forehead. Zhu Yan had no choice but to clasp his hands together to catch the Cloud-Swallowing Sword.
Ah...
Zhu Yan let out a strained roar, exerting all his strength to hold onto the Cloud-Swallowing Sword. Yet, it slowly cut through Zhu Yan's palms, advancing inch by inch.
The soft white Cloud-Swallowing Sword struggled within Zhu Yan's grip, its glow fading as it fought for its final moments.
Seeing the sword tip approaching his forehead, Tu's face twisted with fear and reluctance as he instinctively tilted his head back.
Ultimately, the tip of the Cloud-Swallowing Sword pierced Zhu Yan's forehead, but only just barely. The sword's glow extinguished.
A trickle of blood flowed from Tu's forehead. His eyes were bloodshot due to his demonic transformation, giving him a terrifying appearance. He had managed to withstand this deadly blow and let out a sigh of relief.
"Since you are about to die, I will take care of this Cloud-Swallowing Sword."
Tu stored away the Cloud-Swallowing Sword and then lifted his enormous right foot, bringing it down forcefully toward the motionless Sima Shangshan.
"The Horizontal Blade Camp's thousand Armored Soldiers are coming to reinforce us!"
At that moment, Chang Long could not afford to think of anything else and shouted at the top of his lungs. The other Armored Soldiers followed suit, mimicking Chang Long’s calls. He instructed everyone to run around the hill while shouting, creating a false sense of urgency.
Hearing the rising chorus of shouts coming from multiple directions made Tu furrow his brow. He was in a weakened state now and faced with a thousand Armored Soldiers; he had no confidence in making a clean escape.
Thinking of this, Tu paused slightly before immediately lowering his enormous foot, wanting to finish off Sima Shangshan quickly and leave.
"Sword Essence cultivates sword qi; all things in the world are swords. Fire Element cultivates fire might; the fire of the earth is at my command. I cultivate Ding Yuan, drawing the essence of the earth to forge the Ancient Cauldron, fulfilling my Great Dao, thus achieving clarity."
Lin Feng's eyes suddenly opened, shining with brilliance. He radiated vitality, his aura reaching its peak.
"I have reached Fate."
Lin Feng had no time for sentimentality. The moment he opened his eyes, he saw a phantom of an Ancient Beast lifting its giant foot to stomp on Sima Shangshan, who lay motionless on the ground as if in a coma.
"Hey, your grandfather is here; why don't you come over and bow down to beg for mercy?"
Lin Feng shouted loudly, catching Tu's attention and causing his giant foot to pause for a moment. As Lin Feng spoke, he transformed into a streak of silver light, swiftly approaching Zhu Yan. Then he pushed off the ground and leaped several dozen feet into the air, gripping the Moon City Sword tightly as he fiercely stabbed toward Zhu Yan's forehead.
Zhu Yan had just turned around when he saw Lin Feng charging at him. When Tu realized that Lin Feng's cultivation had unexpectedly broken through to Fate Realization in such a short time, he was taken aback. Although Lin Feng had just entered Fate Realization and was not yet stable, it was undoubtedly a deadly threat to him at that moment.
Roar...
Zhu Yan let out an angry roar and opened his mouth to spit. Tu expelled a mouthful of Essence Blood, transforming it into a blazing fireball that hurtled toward Lin Feng.
Within the fireball, scorching flames rolled and emitted terrifying power, scorching even the void around it.
Lin Feng did not choose to retreat; instead, he directly summoned the Ancient Cauldron and smashed it toward the fireball.
When the Ancient Cauldron collided with the fireball, an astonishing scene unfolded. The fireball formed from Tu's Essence Blood was actually swallowed whole by the Ancient Cauldron. After devouring the fireball, faint glimmers appeared on the cauldron's walls, resembling stars twinkling in the night sky.
"You..." Tu displayed an expression of disbelief and anger but was even more intrigued by the Ancient Cauldron and couldn't help but ask, "What treasure is this cauldron?"
Lin Feng chuckled and countered with a question: "Brother, do you still have any fire left inside you? Can you spit out some more?"
"Damn it, this is my Essence Blood! Do you think it's just something I can easily expel?" Tu thought angrily, feeling like his lungs were about to explode.
"Since you're not giving it up, then die."
Lin Feng retracted the Ancient Cauldron and continued to thrust the Moon City Sword toward Zhu Yan's forehead. Today, he had to kill this man, for he was currently weak, having already seen his own cauldron.
"Child, you have just begun your Fate; you are far from my match."
Tu let out an angry roar, raising his massive right hand to strike Lin Feng. His hand resembled a gigantic leaf, while Lin Feng stood before it like an ant.
An ant, yes, but one with great strength.
Lin Feng showed no fear as he watched the enormous palm descend upon him. He infused his Vital Energy into the Moon City Sword and then lunged at the giant hand.
The palm collided with the Moon City Sword, and with a hissing sound, the sword pierced through the massive hand.
Ahh...
Though it was merely a small wound, it caused Zhu Yan to scream in agony. Instinctively, he withdrew his hands and swung them downwards, sending the giant axe on the ground flying towards Lin Feng.
At that moment, Lin Feng was still a yard away from Zhu Yan's forehead. Just as he felt victory was within reach, he realized something had bound him, rendering him unable to move.
Zhu Yan's tail had appeared from nowhere, ensnaring his legs and pulling him downward. At the same time, Zhu Yan grasped the giant axe and swung it toward Lin Feng's head.
Lin Feng poured all his strength into a strike with his sword against Zhu Yan's tail. Zhu Yan let out another pained cry as his tail was severed, retracting the remaining part. Seizing the opportunity, Lin Feng closed in by half a yard.
Zhu Yan's left hand swiftly grasped Lin Feng's body while his right hand swung the giant axe down toward Lin Feng's head.
Clang...
The axe struck Lin Feng's helmet with a tremendous sound. After taking the heavy blow, Lin Feng's helmet shattered, and pieces of his Xuanjia armor fell away.
Lin Feng felt dazed, his mind buzzing.
"His head didn't come off?"
Tu was slightly surprised and immediately swung the giant axe again toward Lin Feng.
"Come at me."
Lin Feng sneered, waiting until the giant axe was about to strike him before summoning the Ancient Cauldron to block the blow. The axe hit the Ancient Cauldron, producing a shocking clang.
As Lin Feng spat blood from his mouth, he was sent flying, clutching the Ancient Cauldron. The immense recoil force caused him to break free from Zhu Yan's grasp.
The tip of the Moon City Sword pointed directly at Zhu Yan's forehead, closing in rapidly until it pierced just slightly. Lin Feng was overjoyed and wasted no time placing the Ancient Cauldron beneath it to catch the spilling Essence Blood.
The Ancient Cauldron took a sip of the Essence Blood and trembled slightly. At the same time, within Lin Feng's body, Ding Yuan resonated with the Ancient Cauldron, also vibrating gently. Then, astonishingly, the Stone Pearl within him stirred as well, releasing strands of Chaotic Energy that nourished Ding Yuan.
"This is interesting; I wonder how they are connected."
Lin Feng had no time for detailed study. He gripped the Moon City Sword tightly and pushed with all his might, driving it deeper into Zhu Yan.
With this thrust, Zhu Yan let out a piercing scream before his entire phantom vanished in an instant.
Under the moonlight, corpses littered the snowy ground, bright red blood flowing and staining the white snow.
In this moonlit scene, everything appeared particularly cold and terrifying.
Lin Feng faced off against Tu. He held the Moon City Sword firmly and thrust it toward Tu's forehead. Tu, however, grasped Lin Feng's right hand with his left to prevent the sword from piercing in while swinging his battle axe down fiercely toward Lin Feng's chest.
An Ancient Cauldron stood between Lin Feng and Tu. Essence Blood dripped from Tu's forehead, falling steadily into the Ancient Cauldron. The cauldron emitted a soft glow continuously.
For the first time, Lin Feng looked closely at Tu, observing the Cultist. Due to his demonic transformation, Tu's black hair had turned red, and his eyes were a blood-red hue. His already tall figure seemed even larger now, towering over Lin Feng by two heads.
At this moment, their physical comparison resembled that of a teenager standing next to an adult, appearing somewhat comical.
The battle axe came crashing down toward Lin Feng's chest. Ignoring everything else, Lin Feng poured all his Vital Energy into the Moon City Sword to deliver a fatal blow to Tu.
Clang! Clang! Clang...
The battle axe struck Lin Feng's chest with a metallic sound. Contrary to Tu's expectations of cleaving Lin Feng in half instantly, the axe merely sliced through his body. Most of the axe remained outside of Lin Feng’s form.
"Your physical body..." Tu was stunned and speechless, having never seen such a terrifying physical existence, which could almost rival Lin Feng.
"Strong, right? Many people praise it like this. But I still have to thank you for the compliment."
Lin Feng revealed a smile, suppressing the intense pain in his chest, causing the Moon City Sword to pierce even deeper.
Ah...
Tu showed a look of painful struggle, knowing he had to look at Lin Feng. He realized that if this continued, he would undoubtedly die. He wanted to break free from Lin Feng and prepare to escape.
Unfortunately, Lin Feng had rich combat experience akin to that of ferocious beasts. It was as if he was glued to Tu like a tiger's skin plaster, making it impossible to escape.
Just a step ahead was the forbidden ground of the Cultivator. Yet, it was Lin Feng's backyard; he could do whatever he wanted.
