Chapter Eighty-Five: The Cultists Arrive
Among the demon clan, the noble lineage possesses Demonic Blood within them. Once the Demonic Blood is awakened, their cultivation increases dramatically. Throughout the demon clan, very few know the true origin of Demonic Blood. Most believe it to be a special ability granted to them by the Azure Cloud Sect.
There is even a widely held belief among the demon clan that they are the true masters of the Jiuzhou Continent, possessing fertile lands, beautiful and majestic mountains and seas, and endless resources and heritage. However, some began to rebel against their rule, overthrowing the demon clan and driving them into the barren lands of the Second State.
That person called himself the Emperor, and his descendants were known as the royal family. Once rulers of the continent, they were now condemned by the royal family as demons.
They were unwilling to accept this fate, constantly thinking about counterattacking and reclaiming their rule over the Jiuzhou Continent to restore their name.
However, reality was harsh; the royal family occupied abundant resources, and the human race thrived rapidly under their governance. As a result, the demon clan gradually declined. They had not only failed to unify Jiuzhou Continent but had not even conquered Yang Prefecture, one of its states.
Within the demon clan, some began to resign themselves to their fate. After all, the land in the Second State was barren and fraught with dangers. The human race would not mobilize their armies to attack.
Others refused to accept defeat; they wanted to fight back and reclaim everything that belonged to them. They aimed to trample the royal family beneath their feet and enslave them for life.
As Zhu Yan awakened his Demonic Blood Power, his body grew larger by half again, and a blood-red aura emanated from him. Zhu Yan's power surged; he not only lifted the Ancient Cauldron but also shook it violently with both hands.
Lin Feng sat cross-legged atop the Ancient Cauldron, his essence intertwined with that of his Primordial Spirit. The violent shaking made him feel a bit suffocated. Lin Feng spat out a mouthful of Essence Blood, which fell into the Ancient Cauldron.
Feeding his own Essence Blood to the Ancient Cauldron was something Lin Feng had never done before; he was unsure of its effects.
As his Essence Blood entered the Ancient Cauldron, a thunderous roar erupted from within it. Subsequently, a red aura spread from above the cauldron, while numerous beastly images on its surface began to glow.
Each image radiated dazzling red light. Inside the Ancient Cauldron, a cacophony of beastly roars filled the air.
The red light emitted by the Ancient Cauldron grew increasingly intense until it overshadowed its golden glow. The power of the Ancient Cauldron surged suddenly, causing Zhu Yan, who had just straightened his back beneath it, to bend his legs slowly once more and gradually stoop down.
The muscles on Zhu Yan's massive legs were taut, as if they were exerting all their strength to hold him up. The ground beneath him cracked wider, and his enormous legs continued to sink into the earth.
Lin Feng suddenly opened his eyes and looked down at the colossal Zhu Yan beneath him. With a flick of his Divine Consciousness, the Moon City Sword flew out on its own, aiming for Zhu Yan's forehead.
Zhu Yan watched as the Iron Sword approached, aware of its power and not daring to underestimate it. He summoned a giant axe that soared through the air, swinging toward the Moon City Sword.
Controlling magical artifacts relied on the might of Divine Consciousness. Though Tu Jue's cultivation far surpassed Lin Feng's, his Divine Consciousness was lacking.
Lin Feng skillfully maneuvered the Moon City Sword, darting through the Void. In contrast, the giant axe lagged behind, chasing clumsily.
Meanwhile, the battle between the two continued. The red light emanating from the Ancient Cauldron grew increasingly intense, completely overshadowing the faint red glow surrounding Zhu Yan. He was forced to sink deeper and bend lower.
A roar erupted from Zhu Yan, filled with unwilling anger; he longed to toss Lin Feng away. Yet in reality, he could barely lift the Ancient Cauldron. His arms bent under its weight until it finally rested on his left shoulder. He could only brace it against his shoulder, which slightly alleviated his descent.
The giant axe attempted to clash head-on with the Moon City Sword, but the sword evaded its intentions and kept darting away. It then traced an unusual path and suddenly lunged toward Zhu Yan's forehead.
The giant axe quickly returned to block it but was a moment too late.
As the Moon City Sword pierced Zhu Yan's forehead, the axe struck it with a sharp sound that shattered the void. The tremendous noise carried immense power, leaving wounds on Zhu Yan's body and causing cracks to appear in Tu Jue's High-Level Battle Armor.
The axe had indeed been just a fraction too late; the Moon City Sword had penetrated slightly.
A drop of Essence Blood fell from the tip of the sword—just a small amount—but it carried with it the essence that awakened Demonic Blood.
The Ancient Cauldron seemed to come alive with excitement, emitting a thunderous roar.
In the Realm of Fate Realization, the essence of a peak powerhouse's Essence Blood, infused with Demonic Blood Power, provided a tremendous boost.
The Ancient Cauldron materialized and, at the moment a drop of blood fell, it appeared beneath Zhu Yan's head, perfectly catching that drop of Essence Blood.
After the Blood Devouring Cauldron consumed the Essence Blood, it underwent some changes. The fierce beast patterns that once adorned it began to collapse, transforming into twisted curves. These curves intertwined, forming wave-like patterns.
On top of the Blood Devouring Cauldron, another fierce beast design emerged. This design was large and spanned the entire wall of the cauldron. However, it was faint and nearly indistinguishable.
The red light emitted by the Blood Devouring Cauldron burned intensely, making it hard to look directly at. Inside Lin Feng's body, the Stone Pearl violently absorbed Chaotic Energy to nourish the Ancient Cauldron, causing the blood aura radiating from the Blood Devouring Cauldron to lose its ghastly and terrifying quality. Instead, it resembled a crimson cloud at sunset, exuding a certain charm.
The power of the Ancient Cauldron surged dramatically, crashing down like a mountain and directly pressing the enormous Zhu Yan into the ground, leaving only its head exposed.
Zhu Yan let out a furious roar, its voice booming like thunder and echoing throughout Dongping.
Yet all it could do was shout in protest; the Ancient Cauldron weighed down upon it like a mountain, rendering it immobile.
The members of the demon clan watched this scene in stunned silence. Even the First Demon Disciple could not immobilize Tu Jue in such a manner. Just how powerful was this individual?
Demon Five spoke gravely, "This person is extraordinary; quickly notify the boss to come."
This senior brother was none other than First Demon Disciple Meng Han, the only one among the Seventy-Two Demonic Followers clad in Golden Armor. If not for him, Tang Jiner would not have met her demise at the hands of the demon clan.
Demon Five, Demon Six, Demon Thirteen, and other Nine Demonic Disciples decisively activated their Demonic Blood Power within their bodies, each summoning their soul's Ancient Beast manifestation.
Shoulder Wu, Hua Fang, Ying Zhao, and the nine Ancient Beast phantoms appeared.
Shoulder Wu took on a tiger-like form but boasted nine tails. Majestic and imposing, it shook the surroundings with its presence.
Hua Fang resembled a red-crowned crane but had only one leg and one wing. Its body was blue with red spots, and its beak was white. Bifang did not eat grains; it survived by swallowing flames.
The English beast had the body of a tiger and the head of a human, with wings like a bird, its voice resembling the sound of pomegranate seeds bursting.
...
Nine ferocious beasts, long thought to exist only in ancient times, emerged, causing the earth to tremble as if it could not bear their oppressive presence. The ground shook violently, reminiscent of an earthquake. The nine heads, towering like mountains, charged toward Lin Feng.
Lin Feng looked at several powerful Fate Realization warriors who approached him with Manifestation of Divine Powers activated, all unleashing their Demonic Blood Power. He knew he could not withstand them, but this moment presented the best opportunity to eliminate Tu Jue.
Instead of fleeing, Lin Feng controlled the Moon City Sword and aimed it once more at Tu Jue's forehead. Though Tu Jue's body was immobilized, his Divine Consciousness remained agile, immediately manipulating a giant axe to counterattack.
At that moment, the Ancient Cauldron suddenly shifted, its three legs cleverly locking onto the handle of the giant axe. With no resistance left, the Moon City Sword pierced straight toward Tu Jue's brow.
Just then, Shoulder Wu rushed forward first; its nine tails extended like ancient vines, completely binding the Ancient Cauldron and pulling it upward with all its might. Zhu Yan emerged from beneath the Ancient Cauldron and swiftly moved its head to evade the Moon City Sword's lethal strike.
The Moon City Sword grazed Zhu Yan's ear, slicing through its right ear before spinning in mid-air and aiming again at Zhu Yan's forehead.
Hua Fang soared into the sky and let out a fierce cry at Lin Feng above the Ancient Cauldron, unleashing Earthfire. The flames were unbearably hot, distorting the very air around them into a hazy mirage.
The Earthfire enveloped Lin Feng, causing him to sweat profusely. Fortunately, his Golden Dragon Armor provided remarkable defense, ensuring his life was not in immediate danger.
"I will kill you even if I'm gravely injured."
Lin Feng disregarded these attacks; he relied on the Golden Dragon Armor to withstand them for a moment—just enough time to slay Tu Jue.
The Moon City Sword struck again. At that moment, only Zhu Yan's shoulders were exposed above ground; aside from moving its head, it could do nothing else.
The sound of the attack arrived, accompanied by a powerful sonic wave that caused Lin Feng to feel a sharp pain in his head. Even the beating of his heart became erratic, synchronized with the rhythm of the attack. It felt as if, without restraint, his heart might explode.
The other ferocious beasts rushed in, launching their formidable strikes at Lin Feng. His Golden Armor was under simultaneous assault from the Nine Fate Realm Experts, showing signs of cracks. Yet he remained undeterred, focused on assassinating Tu Jue. The Cultists realized that they could not breach the Golden Armor and kill Lin Feng unless Meng Han arrived. With Meng Han's presence, the Cultists were confident they could swiftly eliminate Lin Feng.
Since they could not kill Lin Feng, they had no choice but to rescue Tu Jue first.
The attack collided with the Ancient Cauldron, producing a resounding clang that shook the ground. However, the Ancient Cauldron remained unmoved. The attack flapped its wings violently, creating a whirlwind that cracked the earth beneath it but failed to topple the Ancient Cauldron.
Shoulder Wu, possessing immense strength, followed up with another strike after the initial attack, generating an even more thunderous clang that finally caused the Ancient Cauldron to shift slightly. Zhu Yan's massive form rose a bit more.
Lin Feng coughed up blood for the first time, his face paling. Still, he chose not to defend himself; instead, he poured all his strength into a single strike, determined to kill Tu Jue at all costs.
