Daphne rolled around in bed until the sun almost burned her butt, then she fell asleep.
At night, she felt her body being lifted and held in the air.
Daphne Waking up in confusion, Daphne rubbed her eyes and found herself being carried by her brother as they walked outside.
His profile was perfect, with slightly curved eyelashes, a straight nose, and faintly visible deep purple eyes. He was wearing a casual light-colored shirt with two buttons open at the collar, revealing his sexy collarbone.
"Big brother, why are you picking me up?"
"Flora had an early night's sleep, now it's time for a midnight snack."
"But I haven't washed up and changed clothes yet," Daphne said softly against his chest.
Miller sat down with her on the sofa in his own room, straightened out her messy nightgown, cupped her face and kissed her on the cheek, "It's okay, eat first and then go, brother wants to have a meal with you. I have to go out later."
"Can the big brother still accompany me to see the rooms at home?" Daphne asked, touching her face.
Miller took out an exquisite crystal hairpin, held up her light golden hair, and said gently, "It might not be possible today. Flora can play by herself."
Daphne nodded as she watched the servants bring cups and porcelain bottles to the table like flowing water, thinking about yesterday... Her face turned red again.
Miller meaningfully pinched her ear and personally fed her the meal.
Daphne tugged at her brother's sleeve, took a few sips of "nutrient solution," and felt very uncomfortable, so she requested, "I want to do it myself."
Miller surprisingly did not refuse and allowed her to drink from the cup herself.
"Big brother, the house is too big. Can I not go around? Can I just look at the specific map of the castle? My feet are so tired."
Daphne sat on her brother's lap, holding a cup, swinging her little feet leisurely.
Miller used his fingers to wipe away the bloodstains from the corner of her mouth. When she wasn't paying attention, he lowered his head and used his tongue to lick it away. "Of course, what does Flora want to do at home by herself?"
The moist sensation made Daphne freeze, her cheeks turning red as she stammered, "S-sleep... sleep."
"Isn't this kind of boring? But it's okay..." His gaze fell on his sister's graceful and slender neck, and he said gently, "Does little sister want big brother to bring you something fun?"
"Something fun?"
"For example, a chessboard made of crystal? When you come back, I can teach you how to play chess. Or does Flora prefer rare flowers more?"
Daphne pondered for a moment and said, "Brother, bring me a small animal, like a little bird."
Miller held her shoulder tightly, smiling, "Little animal? Let's see if we can meet."
In the late afternoon, Miller left home.
Daphne stood on the balcony, watching as the black carriage with a golden family crest emerged from the direction of the stables, racing towards the main road of the estate in the moonlight.
She had thought her brother would return just before daybreak, but she waited on the balcony for a long time and still did not see the carriage returning.
"Miss, you should go to sleep," Lucia reminded.
Daphne stood at the door of the balcony, took one last look outside, and turned to Lucia with a look of disappointment. "Lucia, why hasn't my brother come back?"
Lucia I'm not really sure, I can only tell her, "After the former head of the family left, the current head of the family has a lot to deal with recently, and may be tied up with other matters."
"Is that so...?"
Daphne lay on the bed, looking at the canopy hanging from the ceiling, and covered herself with the blanket.
Without her brother's goodnight kiss, she tossed and turned for a long time before falling asleep, and she didn't dream all night.
When I woke up, the sky was very dark, and it was raining outside.
The sky was obscured by dark clouds, and I couldn't see the stars and the moon behind them. The thick layer of clouds seemed to be pressing down towards the ground, making it feel suffocating.
The rain pitter-pattered on the ground and leaves, in a disorderly manner, causing annoyance as it hit the whole piece of glass door. Clearly, the sky was clear and bright without a cloud in sight just yesterday.
Daphne sat up in bed, holding the blanket and eagerly called Lucia in, asking her, "Has my brother come back?"
Lucia blinked and bent down to answer, "The master of the house still hasn't returned."
Daphne nodded in disappointment and asked her, "Did my brother say when he will be back? He also promised to bring me chess pieces and little animals."
"The head of the household took Louis the butler with him, and there's been no news from there. We still don't know when the head of the household will be back."
Daphne's inexplicable intuition told her that her brother wouldn't be coming back today.
Not wanting to sit in her room and watch the rain, she finished her meal and sat on the sofa in the small hall. She took the white lilies from the vase on the table and pulled off the petals one by one.
Daphne tossed the flower branches aside, let out a long sigh, and asked Lucia: "Do we have a chessboard at home?"
"Yes, we do. Do you want me to get it for you?"
"Bring it over, let's do it together."
"Okay."
The rules of the game are not too difficult. Lucia taught her twice and played three games with her, and Daphne basically mastered the knack of playing chess.
Feeling bored, Daphne dragged Lucia into playing more than ten games, always feeling that the stuffiness in her chest was difficult to relieve.
She touched the animal model on top and ended up tossing the chess piece aside.
"Miss, don't you want to play anymore?" Lucia asked softly.
Daphne ran back to her room feeling upset: "I want to take a nap, call me when my brother comes back."
She collapsed onto the bed, burying her face in the pillow, and let out a long sigh.
The sound of rain outside has lessened, pitter-pattering softly. The clouds have also lightened, and the moon hanging in the sky can be faintly seen. Big brother still hasn't come back.
Lying on the bed, Daphne unknowingly fell asleep again. Lucia came in, helped her adjust her sleeping position, and tucked her in.
Rainy days are probably very suitable for sleeping, because the sparse and falling noise is truly the best hypnotic. Daphne was deceived by this sound and slept directly from the middle of the night until the next afternoon.
The bright red sun has not yet set, proudly hanging in the sky. Lucia pulled the curtains for her, and the orange light spread all over every corner of Daphne's room.
Daphne sat on the bed, holding her cup and watching the somewhat familiar scene until the sun slowly set, and the world returned to darkness.
She blinked and turned to ask Lucia: "Has my brother come back?"
The door was opened, and a familiar and exciting voice came: "Ah, Flora, have you been waiting for me to come home?"
Daphne was stunned, and as she saw those violet eyes, she widened her eyes, dropped the cup, and ran over to throw herself into Miller's arms: "Brother!"
Miller caught her with a wry smile, still carrying the scent of rain on his body: "Flora, do you miss me a lot?"
"I miss you to death!" Daphne rubbed her face against his chest.
Miller took her out of his arms, pinched her chubby cheeks with his fingers, and insinuated meaningfully, "Since you said you miss me, shouldn't you show it?"
"Show it?"
"Big brother brought you a gift, but I just came back and I also want Flora's gift," Miller said.
Daphne looked into his eyes, and her gaze slowly fell to his pale, thin lips, and her face turned red in an instant.
Miller approached her, his breath spraying onto the fine hairs on his sister's face, his voice carrying a hint of seduction: "A kiss, a gift, how about it, Daphne? Do you want it?"
Daphne's heart raced, she raised her trembling hand, cupped her brother's face, then closed her eyes and kissed the corner of his mouth.
It was just a simple touch, lingering for a while.
Even though both of them had gone further, this rough kiss still easily gave Miller a tingling sensation as if he had been electrified.
Maybe it's just because this is a kiss that Flora initiated for herself.
